    Umeå Open is an annual music festival taking place in Umeå, Västerbotten, Sweden at the end of March. It is arranged by the local culture organization Kulturföreningen Humlan. Bands and artists from Europe, America and Asia perform alongside acts from Sweden and local acts in the Umeå Folkets Hus venue in the center of Umeå. Other venues where Umeå Open takes place are: Hamnmagasinet, Tegskyrkan, Verket and Guitars - The Museum. Along with music, Umeå Open has a conference and a host of related events. Born from the popularity of the 1997 PopStad award to Umeå by Swedish radio, the festival has been held since 1998 and is regularly sold out in advance.

    Umeå East Station is a railway station in Umeå, Sweden. The station was opened on 7 August 2010, with King Carl XVI Gustaf officially opening the station on 28 August. It was built in connection with the construction of the Bothnia Line to Umeå. It is one of the two stations serving Umeå, the other being the older Umeå Central Station which is located 2km to the west. For a year after its opening, East Station was the sole station serving Umeå as Central Station was closed during this time for renovation. East Station is located close to the Umeå University and the University Hospital of Umeå.

    The High Coast Bridge is a suspension bridge crossing the mouth of the river Ångermanälven near Veda, on the border between the Härnösand and Kramfors municipalities in the province of Ångermanland in northern Sweden. The area is often referred to as The High Coast, hence its name. The bridge replaces Sandöbron, the old bridge across the river, in a new extension of the European route E4. It is the third longest suspension bridge in Scandinavia , the fourth longest in Europe, and the 16th longest of the world. The total length is 1,867 metres , the span is 1,210 metres , and the column pillars are 180 metres tall. The max height for ships is 40 metres . The Sami have historically been known in English as the Lapps or the Laplanders, which have a derogatory implication in Scandinavia, but not elsewhere. Sami ancestral lands are not well-defined. Their traditional languages are the Sami languages and are classified as a branch of the Uralic language family. Traditionally, the Sami have pursued a variety of livelihoods, including coastal fishing, fur trapping, and sheep herding. Their best-known means of livelihood is semi-nomadic reindeer herding.
