Velneshwar is a village on the Western Coast of Maharashtra, India, about 70 km from Ratnagiri. There is an old Shiva temple at Velneshwar which is frequently visited by pilgrims.
This beach is quite famous for its location and also the peace, also for the clean atmosphere that it offers. It is absolutely amazing having white and fine sand.
Many houses to rent there we got one at the excellent location, facing the seashore and commanding a good view of nature. The amenities were just basic but sufficient and the place was clean. The rent was moderate and value for money. Also you will get places where you can enjoy homely meal. Overall very nice and calm place away from city life, one will definatly like it. Must plan a visit.

वेळनेश्वर देश के सबसे ख़ूबसूरत समृद्ध,सूंदर और शांत जगहों में से एक है जो की कोंकण के रत्नागिरी जिले में रत्नागिरी से ६६ किमी उत्तर की और बसा है |एक तरफ पश्चिमी घाट की खूबसूरती नारियल,सुपारी,काजू,और हापूस के पेड़ के बड़े बड़े बागान और एक दिशा में अरब सागर का बेहद की खूबसूरत नजारा देखते हुवे आराम करना हर किसी का सपना होता है वेळनेश्वर में भगवान शिवजी का पुरातन मंदिर है जिसका सन १९६०-७० के दशक में फिर से जीर्णोद्धवार किया गया | वेळनेश्वर बीच सफ़ेद रेत वाला बीच है बीच से सटीक ही छोटी पहाड़ी है वंहा के होटल में रुककर आप को समंदर का बेहद मनमोहक नजारा दिखेगा और खुली आँखों से उछलते-कूदते डॉलफिन भी आप देख सकेंगे | महारष्ट्र पर्यटक विकास महामंडल का रिसोर्ट इसके लिए सबसे बढ़िया रहेगा | वेळनेश्वर बीच और मंदिर के आलावा यंहा नजदीक में कई सरे पर्यटन स्थल है जिनमे दशभुजा गणेश ,हेदेवी मंदिर के साथ यंहा से ८ किमी दूरी पर आपके कुदरत का करिश्मा देखने को मिलेगा जिसे बामनघळ कहते है जंहा पर समंदर की लहरों से बनी गुफा है जिसमे समन्दर की उठनेवाली लहरों से फाउंटेन पानी के फवारे २० फ़ीट की ऊंचाई तक उड़ते है | |गुहाघर यंहा से उत्तर की और महस १५ किमी दूर है जंहा कई सरे प्रसिद्ध मंदिर के साथ बहोत ही साफ और सूंदर समुद्री तट है जो की ६ किमी से ज्यादा लम्बा है |
वेळनेश्वर मुंबई से ३०० किमी दूर है तो वही पुणे से २८० किमी दक्षिण में है इन दोनों शहरो से आप बाय रोड पहुंच सकते है चिपलुन यंहा का सबसे नजदीकी रेलवे स्टेशन है|
कहा पर ठहरे ( Accommodation)कहा पर ठहरे वेळनेश्वर में कई सारे होटल और रिसोर्ट है लेकिन सबसे बढ़िया रिसोर्ट है वो तो महारष्ट्र पर्यटन विकास महामंडल का हॉलिडे रिसोर्ट, स्थानिक लोक यंहा आने वाले पर्यटकों को रहने की तथा खान पान (Bed & Breakfast) की सुविधा मोहय्या कराते है वो भी काफी किफायती दाम में |

How to get there -
By air
The nearest airport is Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji international Airport; from where one has to take a train or travel by road.
By rail
The nearest railway station, which is approximately 60 km away from Velneswar is situated in Chiplun, which is located on the Konan railway route.
By road
From Mumbai, this beach is located at around 370 km distance and is also approximately 16 km away from Guhagar. In order to reach here Maharashtra State Transport (MSRTC) Buses are also available. From Pune to Velneshwar the distance is approximately 200km; from Ratnagiri it is around 170kms.
Where to stay
Though there are many private resorts that are available, one can also stay in the government resort that is located near the beach.
