Norway’s majestic Lofoten Islands are one natural wonder you need to have on your bucket list. Rising up from the sea, the islands are like a coastal mountain range with peaks towering over 1000m high offering spectacular views for those willing to climb to the top.
One of the best ways to explore the Lofoten Islands is on a road trip, meaning you can stop the car whenever you see somewhere scenic which is more than likely around every corner.
When travelling to the Lofoten Islands you have two main choices for arriving. Plane or ferry, and your decision will result in which location you end up starting your road trip.Arriving by plane means you’ll land in Leknes or Svolvær, both toward the north of most popular locations. Leknes is located on Vestvågøy Island and is the closer of the two for accessing iconic locations such as Hamnoy and Reine.

The chain of islands with its pointed peaks looks like a lynx foot from the mainland. In Norwegian, it is always a singular. Another name one might come across, is Lofotveggen or the Lofoten wall. The archipelago looks like a closed wall when seen from elevated points around Bodø or when arriving from the sea, some 100 kilometres (62 miles) long, and 800–1,000 metres (2,600–3,300 feet) high.
In March, 1941 the islands were raided by British Commandos during Operation Claymore, and in a subsequent diversionary attack to support the Vaagso raid in December.

О этом острове нет практически никакой инфы на русском языке!
Это отдаленный остров, на самой окраине Лофотенских островов, тут живут только рыбаки и спасатели...
На этом острове обитает огромное множество морских птиц, среди которых много Тупиков.
И вообще, оказаться в такой дали от цивилизации, в окружении первозданной природы, где даже местное население то не встретишь, ни то что туриста!!!

Lofoten is a Norwegian archipelago off the coast of northern Norway, consisting of about 80 islands, including Austvågøya, Skrova, Gimsøy, Vestvågøy, Flakstadøy, Moskenesøy, Værøy and Røst.
Primarily, the eastern sides of the islands are populated. The region is also known because of the northern lights which can be very well observed, since the winter climate is relatively mild and the aurora oval crosses the Lofoten.
