Weihai , formerly called Weihaiwei , is a city in eastern Shandong province, China. It is the easternmost prefecture-level city of the province and a major seaport. Weihai borders Yantai to the west and the Yellow Sea to the east. Weihai's population was 2,804,800 at the 2010 census. Amongst them, 591,982 live in the built up area . Rongcheng, a county-level city within Weihai, has a built up area with 1,006,795 inhabitants. Between 1898 and 1930, the city was part of the British leased territory of Weihaiwei; during this time, the city itself was known as Port Edward and served as the capital of Weihaiwei.

Its population was 6,968,202 during the 2010 census, of whom 2,227,733 lived in the built-up area made up of the 4 urban districts of Zhifu, Muping, Fushan, and Laishan.

    Mount Kunyu is a group of scenic mountains in Shandong Peninsula, Shandong, China. It is located between the cities of Yantai 50 kilometers to the west and Weihai to the east. The highest point is Taibo Peak, at a height of 923 meters above sea level.It is a regional tourist destination complete with hiking trails, picnic areas, and souvenir shops. The mountains are home to a variety of trees, including cherry, apple and apricot, as well as streams and waterfalls.
