Newfoundland: St. John's to Trinity

These images were taken during a summer trip to Newfoundland.

We spent most of our time in and around St. John's, yet a short trip to Trinity on the Bonavista Peninsula proved to be a wonderful outing into the history of this island. Look for the morning light images of Trinity and the Random Passage set just a bit down the road.

Wesleyville Cemetery

So I rested, while riding, at the newly rebuilt Wesleyville Church. Some concerned citizens restored the church, partly in an effort to reclaim the 'abandoned' hamlet/village/settlement of Wesleyville.

THE BLUE CHURCH

This is a neat little church and cemetery dating back to the late 18th century (1790). I saw it years ago, on highway 2 near Prescott. Since I was heading to Montreal with some of my gear, I thought I'd stop and give my glidetrack a good workout. Mission accomplished. The 'burying ground', by the way, is somewhat significant as it is 'home' to many United Empire Loyalists. Music is by ghost at ccmixter.
