As with every trip to London, it wouldn’t be complete without visiting Trafalgar Square and seeing beautiful landmarks like the London Eye, Big Ben (it was under construction when we were there!), Tower Bridge, etc.
00:25 - St Paul’s Cathedral
We highly highly highly recommend getting to the top of the dome (via stairs within the cathedral, of course). It gives you BEAUTIFUL views of the city and it’s pretty cool up there, literally and figuratively :-)

No, this is not the London Bridge that we sang nursery rhymes about in school. Haha. Check the timings to see when the bridge will be lifted to allow certain vessels to pass!

‘Nuff said. Potterheads and non-potterheads alike, please please please go for this. We can’t stress this enough.

Try one of London’s oldest living fast foods here! Warning: Jellied eels might not appeal to everyone’s tastebuds, but Sherry did enjoy it. Can’t say the same for Travis though. Tip: The chilli/spicy sauce they provide is pretty amaze~

The food haven, really. We picked out Hash, Soulfood and Monmouth Coffee because these really really stood out to us. Super duper yummy!!

Vintage lovers would LOVE this place. Especially over the weekend! We weren’t really vintage lovers, but we also enjoyed exploring this market. The food was also amazing. Tip: The grilled cheese sandwich is the BOMB!!!!!! There was only one store serving grilled cheese, and the smell is really strong, so…. It should be easy to spot.
DAY TRIP OUT OF LONDON
01:25 - Windsor Castle
We were there when the royal baby was born! It was especially cool because the vibes were amazing, and people were in such high spirits!
Nevertheless, the Windsor Castle is the world’s biggest and oldest occupied castle. Maybe you could catch a peek of the Queen when you visit!
01:33 - Roman Baths
Visit the ancient Roman baths in… well, Bath. The place is one of the world’s best-preserved religious spas. Get to try a sip of spring water from the springs there too! Again, warning: Might not appeal to everyone’s tastebuds. Interesting though!

How could we not visit the Stonehenge when we’re in UK?? Quite a magical and mystical experience, we have to say.
WALES
01:55 - Snowdonia National Park
We took the Snowdon mountain railway up! In the winter, it doesn’t go to the peak (Llanberis) though. The peak is actually the highest point in Wales! We really enjoyed the hike down too.
02:18 - Ainsworth’s
Super yummy fish&chips are served here. Be sure to try their specialty, mushy peas too! Great meal :-)
02:26 - Caernarfon Castle
Explore the castle and outside of it too! In the evenings, the streets outside the castle have lots of people chilling and having drinks by the river.
EDINBURGH
02:39 - Arthur’s Seat
Hike up to the highest point in Edinburgh! It gets SUPER windy up there, to the point that both of us couldn’t stand straight without holding onto a rock or each other for support. Be dressed appropriately!
02:50 - Edinburgh Castle
Visit some of Scotland’s oldest buildings that are still in this castle!
03:01 - Papii Cafe
Strawberry? Yup. Bacon? Yup. Strawberry and bacon??? WOT?? We had this reaction too. But this place was highly recommended by a friend, and so we decided to give it a try. Omg, the two complemented each other so well atop fluffy, yummy buttermilk waffles! It gets pretty crowded during breakfast, so do come early or try to avoid peak hours.

We chanced upon this little eatery while exploring the streets of Edinburgh. They serve pulled pork roast rolls and the portions are SO generous! We were so stuffed!

We recommend catching the sunset here for gorgeous views of the city!

Top 10 Cities to Visit in 2016| LONELY PLANET Best In Travel Summary
There are so many travel recommendations online, it’s often hard to tell which ones are reliable and up to date. However, when Lonely Planet, undoubtedly the best travel guide in the world, releases their yearly travel recommendations ‘Best In Travel 2016’, you can start booking your holidays without looking any further.
Best in Travel 2016 includes top 10 countries, top 10 cities and top 10 regions, with number one as the most ‘travelable’ place for the coming year. In 2016, the number one place was honored to Botswana (Country, South Africa), Kotor (City, Montenegro) and Transylvania (Region, Romania).
Let me tell you the best things about this year's winners as well as what my favorites are from the top ten list.
Best City to Travel in 2016:
Lonely Planet’s Choice: Kotor, Montenegro
Have you ever heard of Kotor? I haven’t, even thought I grew up in Europe. According to some, Montenegro is a less popular but prettier sister of Croatia, which is just a little North-West from the best city of 2016. Kotor is a charming town with European cobble streets surrounded by bold mountains and clear warm water. It would be perfect for those who love the European vibe and culture, but can’t stand the European crowds. I’ve got a feeling we will all hear about Kotor in the future. Best time to go is between May to September, however the flight is on a pricy side, between $1400-$1700 pp from LAX (fly to Podgorica).
Aggie’s Favorite: Fremantle, Australia
I spent well over a year studying in Western Australia and I still remember having one of the best coffees in my life right on High St in the centre of Fremantle. Good old Freo seems more like a suburb of Perth, than a small coastal town (And I say Freo, because Australians can’t do two things - stop talking about real estate and use a full word to call a place or a person they really like!).
Perth is the 2nd most isolated capital city in the world, only 30 miles closer to Adelaide than Auckland is to Sydney. This makes Freo is VERY isolated. Which makes locals very unique. I guarantee that when you visit the best local brewery Little Creatures and get some brewskis (beer), you will hear a lot of ‘cheers’ and ‘mate' and ‘no worries’ from true blue aussies (or perhaps I should say true white aussies since multiracialism of Australia is not as noticeable in Perth as it is on the East coast). Freo would be not only a great base for you to to discover the beautiful wineries of Margaret River in the South, but also to go North and enjoy TRULY isolated beaches with some occasional wild dolphins in sight (Monkey Mia). Flights to Freo are a little expensive (about $1300 from LAX), but even tough I have visited Western Australia multiple times, I am still planning on spending some extra cash to experience the uniqueness Freo and Perth have to offer.

Crook is a historic market town in County Durham, in the North East of England. Located a couple of miles north of the River Wear, Crook lies about 9 miles south-west of the historic city of Durham and 5 miles north-west of Bishop Auckland.The A690 road from Durham turns into the A689 leading up through Wolsingham and Stanhope into the scenic upper reaches of Weardale (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty). Located on the edge of Weardale, Crook is consequently sometimes referred to as the Gateway to Weardale.
The centre of Crook, a designated conservation area, features a good variety of shops and businesses with the market held on Tuesdays and Saturdays. There are two prominent churches, the centrally located St Catherine's CE and Our Lady Immaculate & St Cuthbert's RC on Church Hill. On top of the hills to the east sits Crook Golf Club, its challenging 18 hole course offering spectacular views of the local countryside. For a town of its size Crook also features a good selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants. Crook is the 10th largest settlement in County Durham and the 35th largest in the North East of England as of 2016.
Crook first appeared as an agricultural village around 1795 although its surrounding districts – Billy Row, Stanley, White Lea, Roddymoor and Helmington Row – were established much earlier. In these days Crook was predominantly farmland; however, it also had an Inn and a blacksmith shop, consequently the primary field of employment was within the agricultural industry.
Crook has a famous amateur football team, Crook Town F.C.. Crook Town have won the FA Amateur Cup five times, most recently beating Enfield F.C. in 1964, before the cup was abolished in 1974. This record is second only to Crook's near neighbours, Bishop Auckland F.C.. The club have also reached the third round of the FA Cup and formed a key role in the development of FC Barcelona, playing a number of friendly matches in the 1910s and 1920s.
Crook has a backdrop of traditional and modern buildings. The tallest building in the town is the Council Building. It has 5 floors and at about 100 ft, it is a prominent feature of the Crook skyline. However, the council building is dwarfed by Crook's surrounding hills, which completely surround the town except on the south side. The tallest stands at 300 metres above the town, about 980 ft. The highest point in the town is on West Road where the height is 210 metres (about 690 ft). Approximately 2 miles to the west of Crook on the A689 towards Wolsingham and Weardale, 400 yards past the roundabout junction with the A68, is the surviving World War II Harperley POW Camp 93, a Scheduled Ancient Monument within English Heritage.
Crook hosts various annual events including Crook Carnival, Crook Community Christmas Event and the Crookfest music festival. Crook Carnival is held in early July and features a parade, rides, stalls and live music. Crook Community Christmas Event held at the end of November also features a parade and the switching on of the town's Christmas lights.

The “murder capital of the country, also has one of the worst toxic-substance records. New Orleans has still not recovered from Hurricane Katrina, and was ranked number two in “America’s Dirtiest Cities.”

Home of Yale University, the surrounding areas of New Haven are impoverished and crime ridden. Nearly 68 crimes occur annually for every 1,000 residents.
3. Cleveland, Ohio
Aside from being one of the most corrupt cities in the country, Cleveland also has harsh weather conditions, with an average of 60 inches of snowfall each year.

The city is suffering from urban decay with over 32% of residents living below the national poverty line. According to FBI Reports, Detroit has the highest rate of violent crime of any city over 200,000.
