Nun Monkton is a village and civil parish in the Harrogate district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated 8 miles north of York at the confluence of the rivers Ouse and Nidd. Cottages and houses are grouped around a village green of 20 acres with a duck pond and a maypole. The Ouse is navigable for another 19 miles and river traffic played an important part in the village's life until the middle of the twentieth century. Until 1974 Nun Monkton was in the West Riding of Yorkshire.

    Waddesdon Manor is a country house in the village of Waddesdon, in Buckinghamshire, England. It is located in the Aylesbury Vale, 6.6 miles west of Aylesbury. The Grade I listed house was built in the Neo-Renaissance style of a French château between 1874 and 1889 for Baron Ferdinand de Rothschild as a weekend residence for grand entertaining and as a setting for his collection. The last member of the Rothschild family to own Waddesdon was James de Rothschild . He bequeathed the house and its contents to the National Trust. It is now managed by the Rothschild Foundation chaired by Jacob Rothschild, 4th Baron Rothschild. It is one of the National Trust's most visited properties, with over 467,000 visitors annually.
