Cincinnati, Ohio
An aerial glimpse at the Queencity and her many offerings.
Cincinnati, Ohio
Rising from the southern hills of Ohio, Cincinnati stands as Ohio's third largest city with attractions, accommodations and dining for everyone. With two major sports teams, major museums and a bustling entertainment district, the city of Cincinnati is a great vacation spot offering plenty of excitement and adventure.
Historic Abandoned Mansion | Urban Exploring Ohio
We explored this abandoned mansion in Cincinnati, Ohio that was built in 1895. This beautiful stone castle-like mansion was built for George Dittman who owned a Shoe Manufacturing Company in Cincinnati. In 1990s the property was converted into a nursing home. The home in the Avondale Neighborhood was condemned on September 24, 2012. This home is recognized on the National Register of Historic Places as the Mary A. Wolfe House but this was due to a mixup.
It is a shame that this historical property is can make it on the registry of historic places but not be saved.

National Parks Adventure premieres at Cincinnati Museum Center
CINCINNATI (Perry Schaible) - The Cincinnati Museum Center premieres a new movie in the Omnimax Theater on Feb. 12. National Parks Adventure focuses on climber and painter Rachel Pohl.
This is part of the national premiere launch of this show.
The movie, narrated by Robert Redford, follows three adventurers as they hike, climb, and explore America's parks.
Rachel says shooting the movie was an absolute dream. They visited half a dozen national parks in one month, including Arches National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park.
She says it was a completely immersive experience in the parks. She watches at least one sunrise, saw a lot of wildlife and it brings to life what is important about the parks. The toughest part was ice climbing in
-20 temperatures.
National Parks Adventure is the last film at the Omnimax before the theater closes during renovations.

Urbex: Full Cincinnati Explore
Here is the full explore from Cincinnati Machine Tools of both the Technical Centre and the office buildings. Unfortunately I had to cut out some of the explore at the start as the video was way too dark however I am planning on visiting this place again soon and hopefully the video will be better as there where some interesting rooms at the start like a flooded auditorium. We chose to access this building through a very difficult route as we where unaware of the much easier entry point which we found at the end of the explore. As we got to the top of the canal bank and made our way to the fence we must have been picked up on the cameras of the building next door (I'm sure this building was part of Cincinnati but was sold as there was brand new fork lifts and trucks inside when I looked through the window) and where told to leave the premises through a microphone. This place was huge and all in all it was a very good explore, I managed to get some real nice time lapses of the sky from the roof of this place. Hope you enjoyed and thanks for watching :)

40th anniversary of record cold, frozen Ohio River in Cincinnati
CINCINNATI (WKRC) - What were you doing 40 years ago? Odds are good you were looking to stay warm if you were in the Tri-State. But maybe you were one of the ones that dared to walk across the frozen Ohio River on January, 18 in 1977.
Cincinnati resident Mark Clark recalls, What do you say about 25 degrees below zero unless you've been to Minnesota? It was cold. It was brutal. It was very bad, and we still had wind at that point, so the wind chill was terrible.
Kathy Boutiere, another Cincinnati resident, said, It was just unbelievable. There were so many people out on the ice, and it wasn't just flat ice. It was big chunks, so you really had to walk carefully.
Weather records show two of the top 10 all-time coldest high temperatures (-1° and 0°) and three of the all-time coldest low temperatures (-25°, -24°, and -21°) were set between January 16th and 18th, 1977. Records also show the river was frozen over 8 days that month.
The hill coming down from Riverfront Stadium was all frozen, so people were sliding down the hill onto the ice. It was really different. It was like an ice amusement park or something, said Boutiere.
Some were on the riverfront to have fun on the snow and ice, but others more timid to walk on something they had never seen before.
Boutiere remembers, It was creepy. It just didn't feel right. I shouldn't be out here. This isn't safe. This isn't really safe.
If you have photos of the frozen river back in 1977, share them with us on the Local 12 Facebook page, or by going to burst.com/local12.
The Cincinnati Experience: Northern Kentucky
In Northern Kentucky you’ll find cities like Covington, Newport, Bellevue, Fort Thomas, and Florence. There's lots to love about living on this side of the Ohio River, like the amazing view of the Cincinnati skyline, the world’s only ventriloquist museum, the historic residential districts, and the official gateway to the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, known as The B-Line. There’s plenty of charm to be had in NKY’s historic homes, breweries, and bourbon—you just might want to call this place home.

Beautiful City (Downtown Cincinnati) // Throwback Thursday
We recorded this song in downtown Cincinnati last fall and it has taken a while to get around to putting together the finished product. It is my belief that with teamwork, determination, and a whole lot of love, we truly CAN build a beautiful city.
Out of the ruins and rubble,
Out of the smoke,
Out of our night of struggle
Can we see a ray of hope?
One pale thin ray reaching for the day...
We can build a beautiful city.
Yes, we can(Yes, we can)
We can build a beautiful city.
Not a city of angels,
But we can build a city of man.
We may not reach the ending,
But we can start.
Slowly but surely mending,
Brick by brick,
Heart by heart.
Now, maybe now,
We start learning how.
We can build a beautiful city.
Yes we can(Yes, we can).
We can build a beautiful city.
Not a city of angels,
But we can build a city of man.
When your trust is all but shattered.
When your faith is all but killed.
You can give up bitter and battered,
Or you can slowly start to build!
A Beautiful City.
Yes, we can.(Yes, we can)
We can build a beautiful city,
Not a city of angels,
But finally a city of man!
