Palmetto Bay, Florida - Deering Estate (2019)
Charles Deering Estate (also known as Deering Estate at Cutler) was the Florida home of Charles Deering until 1927 when he died at the estate.
Deering lived on the 444 acres (1.80 km2) property for five years, from 1922 to 1927. The property consists of a three-story wooden house built in 1900, known as the Richmond Cottage, and a three-story stone mansion. Other buildings were also built on the property to serve as auxiliary buildings to the estate. Charles Deering Estate is located in the Cutler neighborhood of Palmetto Bay, Florida.
The grounds include what is thought to be the largest virgin coastal tropical hardwood hammock in the continental United States. The estate was acquired by the state of Florida in 1985.
The house and grounds were featured several times in the 1980s TV series Miami Vice and it was the starting line for The Amazing Race All-Stars in 2007.
Deering Estate – Presentation – Miami – Audio guide – MyWoWo Travel App
Hi, my name's Rick, and I'm your personal guide. Along with MyWoWo, I'd like to welcome you to one of the Wonders of the World: Deering Estate.
Deering Estate, one of the finest in Miami, was planned and created by Charles Deering, and is surrounded by what can be described as the largest coastal forest in Florida.
First of all, a word or two about the man who created such a beautiful property. Charles Deering was a rich industrialist, an executive of the International Harvester Company, who had the famous Villa Vizcaya built in Miami, together with his brother James.
Deering bought the estate in 1913, and lived here until his death in 1927. He left the property to his children, who kept it until 1955, when it was purchased by the State of Florida.
Deering Estate includes a three-storey wooden building, dating to the early 20th century and therefore already present when the millionaire Charles arrived here, and a stone dwelling requisitioned by the rich owner, which he renamed Stone House, displaying his art collections comprising paintings, tapestries, ancient objects and rare books in it.
The Estate boasts a park of some 60 hectares, characterized by thick tropical vegetation…

PRISM Paranormal Miami - Deering Estate Conference Room 12/18/14 - Amazing Video Evidence Ghosts
Paranormal Research & Investigative Studies Miami (PRISM) - The Charles Deering Estate Florida @ Cutler - Video evidence from a December 18, 2014 paranormal investigation/ghost tour of the Estate. Recorded in the 3rd floor conference room in the Richmond Cottage. Since we believe that the ghost of a young child resides here, we decided to allow a child to be part of our vigil. We believed that this addition would surely be a catalyst for paranormal activity. During the 15 minute recording, all participants had a K-II EMF meter in front of them, resting on the conference room table. We experienced multiple high EMF fluctuations (+20 mG) and Ovilus III ITC device responses, that all seemed to be related to our questions.
More info on this EVP can be found on the PRISM website: doyouseedeadpeople.org/84/Charles-…ami-FL.html

VIZCAYA: The Spirit of an Era
Villa Vizcaya is an Italian Renaissance-style estate in Miami, Florida, United States designed by the internationally-known architect F. Burrall Hoffman.
The estate was built by James Deering, a major figure in Miami's early history and a Vice President of the International Harvester Company. It is a replica of a Venetian villa built facing Biscayne Bay, complete with sculpted gardens, which he used as a winter home from 1916 to the time of his death in 1925. In 1952, Miami-Dade County purchased the estate's buildings, then in decline, for $1 million in revenue bonds and Deering's heirs donated the estate's furnishings and art to the County.
It is now open to the public as the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens.
