Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, we got married June 2013 and quickly caught the travel bug! We started “travel hacking” and taking more trips together and finally decided we wanted to travel for one year. After 2 years of saving $ and travel hacking over 2 million miles and points, we sold our cars and apartment and left home January 10, 2016. We started this YouTube channel to share our experiences with friends and family, then decided we really liked vlogging and traveling. So we extended our 1 year trip to THREE years :) Now we have a goal of traveling to 100 countries before Nate turns 30 (which is March 20, 2019)! We are incredibly thankful to do something we love every day. :)
10 Best Places to Visit in Egypt - Travel Video
With a fascinating history that reaches back to the dawn of civilization, Egypt is considered the oldest travel destination on earth. The African nation’s awe-inspiring temples and pyramids have captured the imagination of travelers for thousands of years. Although most people come to Egypt to view its ancient monuments, natural attractions beckon travelers too. The Red Sea coast is known for its coral reefs and beach resorts while a trek through the Sahara can lead visitors to a refreshing oasis. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in Egypt:
The Egyptian Museum in Cairo; Ancient Egyptian Antiquities
The Egyptian Museum, Cairo, Egypt. Egypt travel attractions and destinations to reveal with us.
Traveling to Egypt is all about visiting the museums, the Pyramids, the old places, as well as getting the chance to walk through the streets, eat the Egyptian food, enjoy a day by the Nile, and at the same time give yourself the chance to get introduced to the nightlife of this city.
From the most famous Egyptian touristic attractions, the Egyptian Museum is on top of the list, through which you will see the historical Pharaonic pieces. The Egyptian Museum is in Tahrir square, which is considered the middle of the city, Cairo, and thus you will not just enjoy watching the old gems, but will also get the chance to see the old Egypt.
The Egyptian museum is famously called the Museum of Egypt المتحف المصري and it carries a good amount of Egyptian ancient antiquities, about 120,000 items; some of them are already on display while others are kept in store rooms.
This is a must see and visit place during the trip to Egypt because there are different stories to hear inside about the Gods and Goddesses of ancient Egyptian civilization. You might even love the stories that you just wish you could visit the place once again and go through the same things millions of times.
The most important thing about the Egyptian museum in Cairo is to never miss the hall of the mummies in order to see the superior quality of the life that the ancient Egyptians used to live and have an evidence for that.
The moment you enter the Egyptian museum, you will feel that you have been taken and transformed to the old age due to the sculptures that are found inside and the different things you will get the chance to see.
A lot of Egyptian artwork and Egyptian artifacts to come across in this place. We recommend that you either get a trustworthy tour guide who could help you with knowing more about the place and getting the chance to reveal all the stories, or else bring yourself a book or an article from the internet that will help you to know as much as possible, but never wander the place just watching; read everything that is written there.
There are audio guides which you could buy from the kiosk in front of the foyer for 20 EGP and which will be very useful as your guide inside.
There's great history behind this place, not just the Egyptian artifacts, but the mummies, the masks, and actually everything about this place shows how the Egyptians were so good when it came to living like real kings and queens.
We recommend that you take your water with you because it is a little bit hot inside and you might find nowhere to bring yourself water inside during the journey. We also recommend that you take something that will tell you more about the artifacts there because some don't have label and you might find yourself standing in front of something you know nothing about.
Egypt history is like no other place in the world, this country of peace carries a lot to tell the world and the Egyptian museum is where the story starts. The grand Egyptian museum will tell you about the 7 thousand years of history that this country carried and that is the reason why it is considered one of the most important museums to visit in the world.
The Egyptian museum working hours are everyday from 9 AM until 7 PM. The Egyptian museum entrance fee differ according to what you are going to see inside; general admission is for 30 EGP for non-Egyptians, the royal mummies room is for 100 EGP, the centennial gallery for 10 EGP, and all these are reduced by half if you are a student.
Cameras are not allowed inside the place and you will be checked for that by the gates, so you will never get the chance to take photos inside and keep the memory of seeing those artifacts with you. You could only take photos from the outside to prove that you have been there and visited this important museum of Egypt.
This place is so famous, you will be able to reach it by taxi, by the metro, or even by the other transportation tools - but we don't recommend any other way than these two.
The Nile is only five minutes walk away from the Egyptian Museum so you could go for a walk there after you get done with your trip in the museum. There are different things to do in Egypt in general and a lot of things to see, so always plan to see as much as your stay allows you to.
When you visit Egypt, you should plan to visit Muhammad Ali Mosque
You should also visit The National Museum of Egypt
You should give yourself the chance to go to a tour through the Pharaonic Village
And even go to Al Moez street

CAIRO Day 1, The GREAT PYRAMIDS of Giza & Mall of Egypt | Together In Egypt Episode 2
***TOGETHER IN EGYPT Episode 2 (Stream at 1080p for BETTER-QUALITY video)***
Welcome to Episode 2 of my new travel vlog series: Together In Egypt. Day 1 in Cairo! I think up to that point I was on the actual plane in the air more than I was in on the ground. It was at least over 30 hours with transit from Perth to Cairo. Anyway, we wasted no time, my uncle was likeLet's go to the Pyramids while you're fresh from overseas!Hahaha, surprisingly I had energy to go to the Great Pyramids of Giza the next morning after I landed last night. GUYS! It is a site of AWESOME! A true jaw-dropping human invention/engineering. From Cairo city centre to the Pyramids is not far, you can just Uber it. My recommendation is to come in Egypt's Winter tome, less harsh sunlight and probably less tourists. It costed 160 Egyptian pounds to get in which is not too bad. If you want to get in some of the chambers inside, you have to pay extra. I was not that interested in them so I didn't go. You can actually see more of everything in the Egyptian Museum! With that said, don't plan your trip now cuz they are in the middle of renovation and moving to a new location which is near the road entry to the Pyramids. I would say give it another 6 months or a year for them to properly place all the artifacts before planning your trip. After that, we all went to Mall of Egypt which is quite near the Pyramids. It was so good to shop again! Food in Egypt is so cheap compared to Australia. Don't forget to check out my other food videos and travel vlog series :) Follow me on IG @tovnadavid Kpop reaction channel Have a good day!

EGYPT: Nile Cruise & Ancient Monuments (Luxor, Aswan, Giza)
Impression of Egypt along the Nile. More videos of the 7-day Nile Cruise:
Egyptian civilization have depended on the river Nile since ancient times. Most of the population and cities of Egypt lie along the Nile valley north of Aswan. Silt deposits from the Nile made the surrounding land fertile because the river overflowed its banks annually. The Ancient Egyptians cultivated and traded wheat, flax, papyrus and other crops around the Nile. The Nile was also a convenient and efficient means of transportation for people and goods. Nearly all the cultural and historical sites of Ancient Egypt are found along river banks.
The Nile was an important part of ancient Egyptian spiritual life and considered to be a causeway from life to death and the afterlife. The east was thought of as a place of birth and growth, and the west was considered the place of death. Thus, all tombs were west of the Nile, because the Egyptians believed that in order to enter the afterlife, they had to be buried on the side that symbolized death.

For more detailed information about each monument see the description of each individual video. Except for:
The Colossi of Memnon (51:16) are two massive stone statues of the Pharaoh Amenhotep III, who reigned in Egypt during the Dynasty XVIII. For the past 3,400 years (since 1350 BC), they have stood in the Theban Necropolis, located west of the River Nile from the modern city of Luxor. Two shorter figures are carved into the front throne alongside his legs: these are his wife Tiye and mother Mutemwiya. The side panels depict the Nile god Hapy.
The Museum of Egyptian Antiquities (55:30), known commonly as the Egyptian Museum, in Cairo-Egypt, is home to an extensive collection of ancient Egyptian antiquities. It has 120,000 items, with a representative amount on display, the remainder in storerooms. It houses the world's largest collection of Pharaonic antiquities.
Part of the collection will be moved to the new Grand Egyptian Museum set to open in 2020. It will house Tutankhamun's complete collection of between 4000 and 5000 artefacts, many of which are undergoing restoration and have never been displayed; the vast collection we have viewed at the old museum represents only about a third of the whole. The Grand Egyptian Museum is located on 50 hectares at Giza, two kilometres from the Grand Pyramids. The Egyptian Museum in Cairo will remain open.

Travel to the heart of the Great Pyramid of Giza - the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World.
Built over four and a half thousand years ago, the pyramid is the tomb of the Pharaoh Khufu. You can pass through the solid stone blocks that make up the Pyramid’s core to explore its hidden passages and chambers.
The Great Pyramid’s architects and builders worked with great precision: the access corridors and chambers align almost perfectly on a north-south axis.

Cairo/ Giza: Local transport | Hotels | offline Maps | Tourist Hassles in Egypt (2018)
After arriving from Alexandria, I took a bus to Giza Pyramids from a bus terminal inside the city of Giza. Thanks to the helpful people who guided me to the bus terminal. In the initial part of the video, you will see the mad traffic of Giza; you'll get a glimpse local transportation in Egypt. The bus I took to my hotel in Giza is called minibus. I have shared information about the Minibus fare in Cairo and Giza. The person sitting beside me also helped me to understand the mobile service providers in Egypt. So there is a mention of the best mobile network in Egypt.
The video will also show you the hotel rating scam which I went through. The people, in general, are helpful, but there were few incidents which lead to tourist's harassments. Such events make a tourist feel unsafe in Egypt. In the latter part of the video, you'll find hotels near Giza Pyramids. I stayed in one of them. I got a good view of the pyramids from its rooftop.
