Jordan Pond, Acadia National Park, Mt. Desert Island, Maine
The Jordan Pond Loop Trail is a little over three miles long. It is an easy flat walk with amazing views
How to Hike to Jordan Pond in Acadia National Park.
How to get too and Hike to Jordan Pond (its actually a large freshwater lake) within Mt Desert Island inside the limits of Acadia National Park Maine. This is the best lake in the National Park to walk around (from what you can see in the video if you are a walker, jogger or hiker)
Directions - Jordan Pond Path follows the edges of this Pond all around, it becomes the Nature Trail at one point. (There is a Trail from Eagle Lake to Jordan Pond as well, this is what I took)
The easiest way is from the Park Loop, turn into the parking access road, there is plenty of parking, and a pleasant walk to the Pond where the Jordan Pond Path Trailhead begins.

While waiting to be seated for lunch at the very popular Jordan Pond House in Acadia National Park Bar Harbor Maine I happened upon nature at it's best, pretty flowers, a busy bee and two butterflies. Jordan Pond House restaurant is a tradition of ours. We visit every year for pop-overs, ambiance and a nice lunch with special friends.
Jordan Pond House is located in Acadia National Park.

JORDAN POND HIKING TRAIL, ACADIA NATIONAL PARK
This is a nice afternoon hike from Jordan Pond to Northeast Harbor, Maine. The name of the hiking trail is the asticou trail and it comes out by the thuya gardens in Northeast Harbor, just a short walk from town. The gardens are free to the public, and the hiking trail passes through nice shaded woods for the most part, crossing over streams along the way.

Hiking around Jordan Pond and Bar Harbor
This is my last Acadia video. After spending 10 days hiking, climbing, and exploring places (and avoiding crowds) you return home and inevitably get peppered with questions like “but, did you see the Jordan Pond House and Bar Harbor?” Rather than answer “no”, it’s best to check them out. But for me the best part of hiking the Jordan Pond Path was looking up at the mountains on all 3 sides of the pond and knowing that I had climbed to the top of all of them.

Mountain Biking the Carriage Roads in Acadia National Park - Bar Harbor, Maine
Today we are visiting the stunning Acadia National Park in Bar Harbor, Maine. Much to my chagrin there is no mountain biking on the island, but of course that wasn’t enough to stop me from finding an excuse to ride. Way back in the early 20th century a vast network of crushed stone roads were built throughout Acadia National Park for the use of hikers, horse riders, and most importantly, bikers. No cars allowed thank you very much. These trails, commonly referred to as the “Carriage Roads” are in my option one of the coolest ways to experience the park, soak in its beautiful features all while pedaling your little heart out.
But I wasn’t alone for this adventure. My wife and our good friends Jon, Judy, and their daughter all saddled up for our 20 mile, five and a half hour tour of the Carriage Roads.
Along the way we stopped at a handful of the beautiful, granite bridges built throughout the carriage roads. Each one was individually designed with the intent to both blend into the background and be a work of art to admire all on their own.
Once you are done checking out the bridges be sure to plan ahead so you can grab lunch at the Jordan Pond House. This restaurant is right inside the park, has a sweet name, and the expectedly fantastic views are matched by delicious food and drink.
The week we spend exploring the park is something I look forward to doing every year. I am so glad that this year I was able to share our biking adventure with you. If you want to see more videos like this one click subscribe and drop me a note below what you thought of Acadia National Park.
Thank you so much for watching. Now it’s your turn, get out there and ride.
