Memory Grove & City Creek Park, Salt Lake City, Utah, U.S.A. Edit 2
I walked through City Creek Park downtown into Historic Memory Grove Park, on a beautiful sunny Saturday morning. City Creek runs through Memory Grove Park and City Creek Park in downtown Salt Lake City. In 1847 Brigham Young and his followers settled on the banks of City Creek, of which now is downtown Salt Lake City. City Creek's waters run from the Wasatch Mountains and are a protected watershed giving water since the pioneers, up to this day, for people living in the Avenues in downtown Salt Lake City. Thanks for reading and watching. I hope you enjoy this video...And if you do, please subscribe and share. :) Thank you! :) The following video uses two songs in the following order: 1/ 'Giant Leap' by Topher Mohr and Alex Elena 2/ 'Cumbia No Frills Faster' by Kevin MacLeod To see more info about artists and songs, please look below for more info. Memory Grove in Salt Lake City
Memory Grove is a large park in Salt Lake City just below the State Capitol Building. It is popular for bringing dog to play, for walking/running, meditation and more.
It has many memorials for war veterans and more.
It has a replica of the liberty bell, a hiking trail, a pond, a creek and gorgeous views.
Memorial House, Memory Grove Park, 375 N. Canyon Rd., SLC
Memorial House was originally constructed circa 1890 as a stable and equipment storage shed. In 1926, Salt Lake City leased the building to the Service Star Legion and prominent Salt Lake architects Hyrum Pope and Harold Burton were hired to design a new façade with Georgian style. The brick walls were covered with stucco, six rounded dormers were added to the roof, and the stable doors on the east wall were turned into elegant French doors.
Under the management of the Service Star Legion, Memorial House became a popular setting for weddings, receptions, and luncheons. Over the course of the century, new features were added to improve the venue’s versatility for events. The garden room addition was constructed in 1953, and the patio on the east side was added in 1974. Sadly, after the Legion's lease ended in 1984, the building stood vacant and unused for 10 years. Seeking a new home and hoping that Memorial House could once again play an active role in the community, Utah Heritage Foundation, a statewide 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, raised funds for the renovation of the building in cooperation with Salt Lake City Corporation. In July of 1994, the Foundation re-opened the doors of Memorial House for public use and has continued to operate the building as a meeting, event, and reception center ever since.

Salt Lake City, Utah’s high-elevation capital, is bordered by the buoyant waters of the Great Salt Lake and the snow-capped peaks of the Wasatch Range. Downtown’s 10-acre Temple Square, headquarters of the Mormon Church, is home to the majestic, 19th-century Salt Lake Temple and the neo-Gothic Assembly Hall. The acclaimed Mormon Tabernacle Choir performs in the square’s domed Tabernacle.
Salt Lake City is the capital and largest city of Utah, with a population of approximately 190,000 (the Salt Lake Metro Area in its entirety has over a million people). It is one of the largest cities in the Southwest region of the United States, although its climate is more similar to the Rocky Mountain region. It lies in the Salt Lake Valley along the Wasatch Front urban corridor, located between the Wasatch Range to the east and the Oquirrh Mountains to the west; on the border between the Rocky Mountain and Great Basin geographic regions.
Salt Lake City is well-known as the center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (also known as the Mormon church), although fewer than half of the city's residents are members. The city is also known as a base for outdoor recreation, including the many nearby ski resorts just east of the city which were thrust into the world spotlight by the 2002 Winter Olympics.
Significant neighborhoods in SLC include Downtown, the financial core that's home to Temple Square (the main headquarters of the Mormon church); Central City, the main residential area of the city, approximately 400 South to 900 South; Sugar House, a commercial/residential district with many local and national shops; Federal Heights, an affluent district to the northeast; The Avenues a historical neighborhood with many late 1800 and early 1900 buildings; University, the area surrounding the sprawling University of Utah campus and the adjacent VA Medical Center, Research Park, and Fort Douglas; East Bench or Foothill, a residential area bisected by the major arterial road Foothill Boulevard between 900 South and I-80; Capitol Hill, an affluent district just north of Downtown topped by the Utah State Capitol building; Rose Park a residential in the northwest section of the city; and Glendale a residential, primarily Hispanic district to the southwest, home to the International Peace Gardens. The benches are the mostly residential, upper-class communities constructed mostly along the slopes of the Wasatch Mountains on the east side of the valley, although they have recently been growing in the southern valley (the low Traverse Mountains) and the western valley (the Oquirrh Mountains). The east side is traditionally more affluent and conservative than the west side, leading to the expected cultural rivalries that you find in other cities with clear divides, although this divide is arguably less pronounced in Salt Lake City than in most major cities.

City Creek Canyon - Full
City Creek Canyon is located in Salt Lake City, Utah and can be reached by going up B Street until it becomes Bonneville Blvd. This is a one way road with the oncoming lane dedicated to cyclists and pedestrians. This trail is very close to down town Salt lake, and is reached through the Avenues. The trail goes for dozens of miles up the canyon, but due to it being a watershed area, dogs are only allowed on the first 3 miles. Since I took Calvin with me, this video only goes to that area.
This trail is not at all steep, very popular, and paved the entire length, so it is accessible to anyone.
If there is anything about his trail you think should be included, a question you have about the hike, or a trail you would like to see, please leave it in the comments.
