Cape Town Sightseeing Tour
Cape Town, also known as ‘The Mother City’, is South Africa’s oldest Town located at the most Southern point of the African Continent. The Dutch founded Cape Town as a refreshment station for European ships en route to the Indian Ocean and Asia. By the early 19th Century it was a cosmopolitan Port marked by conflict between Dutch settlers and British colonists which culminated into the Anglo-Boer War of 1899-1902.
Today, CT has one of South Africa’s most diverse populations. In spite of their differences and fierce social contrasts, the majority of the 3.5 million inhabitants wouldn’t trade their City for any other place on Earth. Cape Town's iconic attractions and destinations, include the world heritage Table Mountain site and V&A Waterfront harbor where one can take a ferry to Robben Island where Nelson Mandela spent 18 of his 27 years in prison.
Cape Town counts numerous places of wonder, among those: Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden, Clifton, Sea Point, Bantry Bay, Green Point, Bo Kaap, the main museums (African, Jewish, District Six and Gold museum), the International Convention Centre, St George's Cathedral and the many prestigious Hotels and Mansions along the stunning coastal suburbs of Camps Bay, not to mention the legendary Constantia Wine Route …

Cape Town, South Africa Travel Video
Cape Town, South Africa Travel Video - The Mother City, home to soaring Table Mountain, golden beaches and bountiful vineyards, is an old pro at capturing people’s hearts.
Natural Wonders
Table Mountain National Park defines the city. The flat-topped mountain is the headline act, but there are many other equally gorgeous natural landscapes within the park’s extensive boundaries. Cultivated areas, such as the historic Company’s Gardens, Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens and Green Point Park, also make exploring the city a pleasure. Follow the lead of locals by taking full advantage of the abundant outdoor space. Learn to surf; go hiking or mountain biking; tandem paraglide off Lion’s Head; abseil off the top of Table Mountain – these are just a few of the many activities on offer.
Design Delights
The World Design Capital 2014 is in the process of using innovative design to transform the city. It’s already one good-looking metropolis, from the brightly painted facades of the Bo-Kaap and the bathing chalets of Muizenberg to the Afro-chic decor of its restaurants and bars, and the striking street art and innovation incubators of The Fringe and Woodstock. The shack communities of the Cape Flats are a sobering counterpoint, but even in these deprived suburbs there are enterprising projects that put food from organic market gardens on tables, or stock gift shops with attractive souvenirs.
Proudly Multicultural
Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu and traditional African beliefs coexist in this proudly multicultural city. Given South Africa’s troubled history, such harmony has been hard won and remains fragile: practically everyone has a fascinating, sometimes heartbreaking story to tell. It’s a city of determined pioneers – from the Afrikaner descendants of the original Dutch colonists and the majority coloured community to the descendants of European Jewish immigrants and more recent Xhosa (isiXhosa) migrants from the Eastern Cape. They all bring unique flavours to Cape Town’s rich Creole melting pot.
Beyond the City
Wrenching yourself away from the magnetic mountain and all the delights of the Cape Peninsula is a challenge, but within an hour you can exchange urban landscapes for the charming towns, villages and bucolic estates of Winelands destinations such as Stellenbosch and Franschhoek. Hermanus is a prime whale-watching location and also a base from which to organise shark-cave diving. Further afield, the delights of the Garden Route unfold with more inspiring scenery to be viewed on thrilling drives down the coast and over mountain passes.

Motherland: My Journey to South Africa
Born and raised in New Orleans, Chloé had never visited Africa, the motherland of her ancestors. But as an Israel activist, Chloé knew the deep connection indigenous peoples have with their homeland. Visiting the continent for the first time, Chloé finds a place to belong and a people who have survived against the odds and the injustices.
Chloé spends her trip to South Africa learning about the history, people and culture, dancing with the children of South Africa, soaking up the savanna, and connecting - not only to the land her family came from - but connecting to herself.
Israel and South Africa are two homelands, two motherlands, both home to indigenous peoples. When the Jewish nation formed the Jewish state, it did so against all odds - much like the people of South Africa.
Chloé explores the history and heroism that built two very different - yet surprisingly similar - motherlands, each the heart and refuge of people fighting to survive in the face of oppression and bigotry. The Jews rising up after the Holocaust and the South Africans overcoming the injustice of apartheid - these are people who rose up against formidable obstacles to fulfill impossible dreams, to achieve self empowerment and provide an example to the world.
Coming home to South Africa not only gives Chloé greater perspective on herself, but on the other home of her heart - Israel.
The stories of the peoples of both Israel and South Africa are rife with persecution and struggle. But when the motherland calls to us, it changes everything.
Read Chloé’s article in Algemeiner about when she first encountered racism, connected with zionism, and why she made this video:

Namibia is... GERMAN?!
Yesterday, I arrived in Namibia (my 143rd country!) to start a 10 day tour with G Adventures! But as I've been wandering around the unique capital city of Windhoek, I couldn't help but notice how GERMAN everything feels. Seriously, the culture is bizarre here in Namibia!
As I investigated further, I discovered that Namibia was a German colony (from 1884 - 1915), and despite 103 years of separation since the Germans left, their influence is still deeply rooted in Namibian society today.
I became so fascinated by this German-Namibian culture, because the vast majority of the world that I've seen has been conquered by either the British, French, Spanish, Portuguese or Dutch... Not the Germans.
Here is a fun video I put together today all about my observations on German-influenced Namibia.
Just out of curiosity -- Is this all news to you? Or did you know that Namibia is German-influenced?

frenchSUNSET is not your average pop-up picnic. Think of it as an escape to sunny, sweet Paris without the hassle of boarding a plane. A true French experience with a Mzansi twist, this impromptu shindig offers you a day out in the beautiful Cape with mouth-watering delicacies, live music, comedy, poetry, cooking demos and so much more.
Upon arrival, ticket-holders each receive a small welcome basket including authentic French cheeses (specially imported for the event), a French Baguette, a bottle of one of SA’s finest wines and much more. Tickets holders are also encouraged to bring in their own picnic basket.
Aside from tucking into yummy delicacies, they will enjoy a string of amazing, yet diverse, talent throughout the day with a line-up including live performances by:
• Nationally Acclaimed Comedian Siv Ngesi
as the event’s host
• Poet Kyle Louw
• Acoustic Elements,
• upcoming french singer Savannah,
• Mapumba and band
• Soul Power Circus Band

• and more to be confirmed
A brand new addition to this year’s line-up is a cooking demonstration led by two French chefs. The Cape Town-based Nadège Lepoittevin-Dassé (nadegecuisine.co.za) will give you tips on how to be a master in your own kitchen while she cooks up a culinary storm. Executive pastry chef to France’s dignitaries Kamel Hamzaoui heads especially to the Mother City for this occasion to demonstrate some of his sweet pastry skills.
After the sun sets, a short movie will be screened so pack in something warm for if the weather turns.
As a family-friendly event (kids younger than 15 get in for free) there is a kiddies corner with a jumping castle and plenty fun activities.
The dress theme for the event is blue, white and red (colours of France’s flag) and you are invited to dress the part – whether it’s one colour, two or even all three.

Message to South Africa
Juha Ketola, the International Director of the ICEJ, visits South Africa
The International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem presented the Feast of Tabernacles in September 2012. Angus Buchan was the keynote speaker and upon his return he said:
I was standing alone. I was leaning into the wind to try and keep my balance as God was moving amongst His people. Every nation was represented. I never even made an alter call and the people started running forward. Hundreds and Hundreds of them.
Juha Ketola, the International Director of the ICEJ, is visiting South Africa from 13 - 20 March 2013 in Pretoria and 21 - 26 March in Capetown with the following purpose:
1. To raise awareness in the body of Christ concerning God's agenda with Israel and why it is vital for the worldwide Church to understand our unique God-given connection with the land, so that we can work alongside Him accordingly.
2. To touch the hearts and minds of spiritual leaders and believers
with the biblical truth about the connection between the salvation of humanity, the Church and Israel.
3. The message is all about Jesus, who came into a setting and context. This was the Jewish people and the physical land of Israel.
5. As a global ministry based in Jerusalem, Israel, the ICEJ offers a channel for local Churches worldwide to get connected and involved with what God is doing in Israel.
6. Support and offerings are welcome (Gen.12:1-3, Ps.122:6). We will of course welcome people to the Feast of Tabernacles as well.
