Mormon Fort Station Genoa - Part 1 The California Trail
The California Trail literally runs right through today's fort. The trek was very difficult for early pioneers as thousands migrated to the west in search of gold and other prospects. This is when some of the earliest settlers came to the region which were Mormons to develop a trading post and station which offered supplies for these pioneers getting ready to traverse the might Sierra Mountains. Genoa is the oldest non native settlement in NV it sparked the growth it needed which would eventually lead to statehood during the Civil War after the Utah War with the Mormons.

ABOUT US
Welcome to Grand Adventure, a YouTube channel that focuses on RV-centric outdoor activities including not only of course camping, but also mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing and more, nearly always filmed in stunning 4K.
We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and invite you to come along as we travel all around the western U.S. My wife Patricia and I, and our dogs Zoe and Maggie are avid boondockers, so you'll seldom find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds. Instead, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. And unlike most other RV channels on YouTube, we're not RV dealers or full-timers -- we're weekend warriors just like you!
We'll provide tips and insight on equipping and maintaining your RV, trip planning and travel videos to make your next adventure a grand one indeed! So, subscribe to make sure that you catch every episode, and remember...life is nothing but a Grand Adventure!

Camp Floyd Utah, Adobe Town and Frogtown in Fairfield Utah
Camp Floyd Utah's Adobe Town was also known as Frogtown because of its civilian camp followers. This made Fairfield the 3rd largest city in Utah in 1859. Take an animated tour of the Stage Coach Inn and the 17 taverns and gambling halls outside of the Camp's main gate.
Why is Utah the crossroads of the West?
The transcontinental railroad came together 150 years ago in Utah. It happened in the middle of nowhere just north of the Great Salt Lake at Promontory Summit. Utah considers itself the crossroads of the West and its very proud of this moment. So proud they put it on the back of a quarter when state-themed quarters were a thing.
So why is Utah considered the crossroads of the West?

Chemtrails, Boulder, Utah Oct 29, 2011
This video documents the very heavy chemtrail activity -- stratospheric aerosol geoengineering -- near Bryce Canyon National Park in southern Utah at the end of October 2011. We spent nearly 2 weeks in southern Utah and while the skies were clear for 2-3 days, most days we witnessing the dumping of huge amounts of poisons into the atmosphere by the US military and it's contractors with 200-300 chemtrail flight lines directly overhead nearly every day. This video was taken from the Spencer Flat Road between Escalante and Boulder, Utah, off of Hwy 12, one of the most spectacular roads in the US. If there is a God's Country this is it, we kept saying to ourselves, but yet no place is sacred to the power elite and their agenda.

The Making of National Historic Trails
Lee Kreutzer, National Park Service
There seems to be a lot of misunderstanding out there about how national historic trails are designated, administered and managed. This brown-bag talk will review what national historic trails are, how they are studied and designated, how they are administered and managed, and what potential new trails are being considered by Congress.

East Canyon Creek, Utah
The trail the original company of Mormon pioneers to the Salt Lake Valley followed East Canyon Creek in this area, according to current trail markers. This portion of the trail had been blazed a year earlier by the ill-fated Donner Party. Years later, the Pony Express followed the same route.

The Golden Spike: Railroads of America 2
The Union Pacific RR and Central Pacific RR met at Promontory Summit, Utah, in 1869, uniting the continent with the driving of a symbolic golden spike. The arduous wagon journey on the Oregon Trail and Mormon Trail became a thing of the past. As northern transcontinental railroads were completed in the coming decades, steamboats on the Missouri River also faded into history.
Join us on location at the zero mile marker in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the rocks worn down by wagons on the Oregon Trail in western Nebraska, at a Pony Express station in Central Nebraska, at the 100th Meridian in Cozad, Nebraska, and at the monument to Oliver and Oakes Ames in eastern Wyoming.
