Places to see in ( Ramsgate - UK )
Ramsgate is a seaside town in the district of Thanet in east Kent, England. Ramsgate was one of the great English seaside towns of the 19th century. Ramsgate’s main attraction is its coastline, and its main industries are tourism and fishing. The town has one of the largest marinas on the English south coast, and the Port of Ramsgate has provided cross-channel ferries for many years.
Ramsgate is located 78 miles from central London in an east south-easterly direction at one of the most easterly points of the United Kingdom (the furthest point east is Lowestoft in Suffolk). The town is an amalgamation of two settlements: a fishing community on the coast in the shallow valley between two chalk cliffs, and an inland farming community that is now the Parish of St Lawrence. The cliffs are known as the East Cliff and the West Cliff and are predominantly residential areas.
Ramsgate's main attraction is its coastline, particularly Ramsgate Main Sands, which was awarded a Blue Flag in 2015. Ramsgate's wartime deep shelter tunnels are open to the public for tours, which have been running since 2014. The local council publishes a website specifically aimed at tourists visiting Ramsgate and neighbouring towns. There is an annual regatta event based at Ramsgate during the summer. Ramsgate has developed a continental café style culture with bars and restaurants on its seafront parade. Ramsgate carnival is an annual parade that takes place during the summer.
The Port of Ramsgate has a 700 berth marina, Royal Harbour Marina, and a ferry terminal built on reclaimed land. Ramsgate is connected to the national road network primarily through the A299 Thanet Way, which continues on to the M2/A2 for the M25 (approx 1 hour) and London. Ramsgate railway station is situated at the top of the town near the parish of St Lawrence.

Places to see in ( Sandgate - UK )
Sandgate is a village in the Folkestone and Hythe Urban Area in the Shepway district of Kent, England. In 2004, the village re-acquired civil parish status. The civil parish shares the boundaries of Folkestone Sandgate ward, at 2.17 km². It is the site of Sandgate Castle, a Device Fort. H.G. Wells lived at Spade House, and it was also the birthplace of comedian Hattie Jacques.
The Morcheeba song The Sea is written about the beachside bar 'Bar Vasa'. Sandgate Hotel appeared on the Channel 4 programme Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares on 27 February 2006. Other pubs include The Ship Inn, The Providence Inne, The Clarendon Inn and The Royal Norfolk Hotel. Sandgate was an urban district from 1894 to 1934 (having previously been part of Cheriton parish). It was added to Folkestone in 1934.
The Sandgate branch railway line was opened in 1874 and closed to passengers in 1951. Little of the infrastructure now remains, but it is still possible to see the remains of a tall overbridge at the bottom of Hospital Hill. Sandgate has become known for Dave the Dolphin, seen out in the bay between Folkestone and Hythe. Sandgate is the location of the Shorncliffe Redoubt, a Napoleonic era earthwork fort associated with Sir John Moore and the 95th Regiment of Foot, known as the 95th Rifles.
St Paul's Church lies next to the Saga building, which is built on the site of Embrook House. Sandgate Primary School lies on Coolinge Lane between the Folkestone School for Girls and Eversley College. The old school building is located in the village on Sandgate Road close to Spade House. Folkestone Rowing Club is in Sandgate. There are a number of pubs in Sandgate, including The Ship, The Providence Inne and The Earl of Clarendon. Inn Doors opened on Aug 28th 2015. This is a micropub offering local beers and ciders.
The Hub bicycle shop closed in 2014. Its premises have now been split between the Loaf coffee shop and the Ship Inn. As of Sept 2015, the half now managed by the Ship was undergoing refurbishment. The Brisbane suburb with the same name is named after the town. There is also a Brisbane suburb called Shorncliffe, which is adjacent to Sandgate.

We would like to mention here that Clacton has plenty of shops in the town centre and would certainly be adequate for most peoples needs. but for the ultimate shopping experience you only need to travel a short distance to Colchester or Ipswich. For people who like walking, the gardens along the promenade are well kept at all times, I give credit to the Council for that, we also have a pleasant lawn and flower beds in front of the Hotel, if you find it difficult to walk too far. Dont worry. myself, or one of our staff will arrange comfortable chairs for you on the front lawn, the beaches are a golden coloured sand and very pleasant, if you do like to swim in the sea, this is the place for it. Constable country is not too far away, and many people visit that area for the scenic beauty. Essex is still a rural County and famous for its seaside results. Gently rolling countryside, rivers and valleys, peaceful creeks and estuaries, with a scatter of picturesque villages and county townHotel Rating: Self Assessed 4 star

Reculver Towers and Roman Fort (Shot with Dji Mavic Air drone in UHD 4k) In high Wind.
Reculver Lane | Reculver, Herne Bay CT6 6SS, England
The Reculver Towers are all that remain of a Saxon church, St. Mary’s. Located near Herne Bay, the church was part of a Roman fort which guarded one end of the Wantsum Channel. The fort was built around 210 AD, whilst the church was constructed in 669 AD. The church was demolished in 1809, as it was thought it would collapse into the sea. However, the two towers were kept as a landmark for shipping. It is reported that back in the middle ages ships would dip their sails as they sailed passed the Church as a sign of respect.
The two towers are also known as “The Two Sisters” after two nuns from the Faversham Abbey. Frances, the Abbess, had recently recovered from a serious illness, and accompanied by Isabella, they set off on a pilgrimage by boat, to the shrine at Broadstairs. Off the coast of Reculver they became grounded on a sand-bank, Isabella shortly died from exposure but Frances survived. In memory of her sister, Frances had the church restored and had a wooden spire added to each stone tower.

Richborough Roman Fort, Off Richborough Road, Kent, CT13 9JW
Richborough Roman Fort, originally called “Rutupiae”, in Kent marks the site where the Romans successfully invaded Britain in 43 AD.
Known by many as the “gateway to Britain” and also Richborough Castle, Richborough Roman Fort is thought to have begun as a military stronghold for the invading Roman soldiers and developed into a civilian town and one of the country’s main ports. One reminder of the leisure facilities of this historic town can be seen around five minutes away in the form of the vague remnants of an amphitheatre.
The impressive stone walls that still stand at Richborough Roman Fort are the remains of a wall fort built by the Romans in the late third century AD to protect against the Saxons. Visitors can also see remaining defensive ditches and the ruin of a first century
triumphal arch.
Deal Castle And Deal Beech Marine Road Deal, CT14 7BA
(Shot with Dji Phantom 4. drone in UHD 4k) AND (Shot with Dji Mavic Air drone in UHD 4k)
Deal Castle is located right on the beach in the town of Deal in the south east of England, its important position was chosen to guard a stretch of water used as an anchorage and landing ground.
This Tudor artillery castle is built of reused materials such as Caen stone, brick and Kentish ragstone removed from dissolved religious buildings nearby. The castle is surrounded by a curtain wall with six low bastions and gun platforms. The castle itself consists of a three storey circular tower with six semicircular towers projecting from it. These towers give the castle the appearance of a Tudor rose form the air and are perfectly symmetrical. The castle is protected further by a dry moat and gatehouse with its murder holes and gun port which are still in good condition.

The Clifton Baths were constructed between 1824-8 by John Boys at a cost of £15,000, excavated from the chalk cliff north-east of the harbour. It is estimated that the total quantity of the chalk excavated and removed was 40,000 cubic yards (30,584m3). An engraving of circa 1829 shows a Gothick style fort-like structure with massive arch at sea level, buildings above with lancet windows, crenellated parapet and an obelisk-shaped chimney. A detailed description was published in 1830 by George Alexander Cooke, probably based on a visit three or four years earlier. A large dome provided storage for 20 to 30 bathing machines which were brought down a curving tunnel to sea level when required. A tunnel also led to the Lower Reservoir used as a plunge bath for women and children. A horse pump forced sea water from the Lower Reservoir to the Upper Reservoir where it supplied the water for the hot baths, the power supplied by a horse gin in the open air. An obelisk-shaped chimney served the boiler but was removed in the later C19. A Bathing Room divided into two wings, the north for gentlemen and the south for ladies, had seven hot baths, shower baths and hip baths but was later demolished. There was a waiting room which was also a reading and subscription room and a newsroom which had an organ and billiard table. The Upper Terrace had round-headed alcoves, seats and benches for enjoying the sea views. A bathers' terrace was erected by 1831. A second chimney was erected between 1833-45.
In 1849 ownership of the Clifton Baths passed to John Boys' son, John Harvey Boys. A map from the Margate Sanitation survey of 1852 shows the subterranean plan of the Clifton Baths with the circular dome, a passage leading off to the north-east, a reading room, bathing room, reservoir, tank and horse pump and further subterranean passages. An engraving of circa 1860 shows a further obelisk-shaped chimney had been built by this date.
In 1869 the site was sold to Thomas Dalby Reeve who built a drill hall for the local Artillery Volunteers and a boiler house with tall chimney. These are shown on Bacon's map of Margate of 1875. In 1876 ozone baths were produced by an electrical process and in the 1880s an indoor salt water swimming pool was provided at the north-east corner of the site. This appears on the 1907 Ordnance Survey map and survived until the mid-C20. By 1903 a cinema had been installed into the former Drill Hall which was operational until 1924. In 1924 a theatre or concert hall was built east of the indoor swimming pool but was later demolished.
From 1926 onwards the Clifton Baths were re-modelled under John Henry Iles, a leading figure in the amusement park industry between the wars, who also owned the Dreamland Amusement Park in Margate. The site was turned into a large modern seaside complex with bars, cafes and restaurants on several levels and a large open air swimming pool projecting into the sea. These buildings were built onto and over the remaining parts of the Clifton Baths in a Neo-Classical style with Mediterranean influences, laid out over a series of terraces. From 1938 the name was changed from the Clifton Baths to the Cliftonville Lido.
