For years, I had wondered about these tanks and helicopters that sit beside I-81 near Carlisle, Pennsylvania. Moving into my new place forced me to drive past them a couple of times a day, so I finally decided to give in to my curiosity and see what they were all about.

Set up takes place Friday, the day before the two-day Army Heritage Days takes place at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center in Carlisle. The event features historical military equipment and military re-enactors. This year's event features tanks and armored vehicles and a tank course to demonstrate maneuvers and tactics. Citizen Soldiers, Preparedness and Combat: G Company, 111th Infantry in the Great War
One hundred fifty men of G Company, 6th Infantry, Pennsylvania National Guard, marched out of Doylestown, PA on September 12th, 1917 to fight in the Great War.
Before they returned to their homes,
Sixteen of their number had been killed, and
Forty nine had been wounded.
What they experienced would remain with them for the rest of their lives.
Ultimately they became part of the 111th Infantry Regiment, 28th Division, American Expeditionary Forces
