Asheville Getting National Attention
A new round of bragging rights for Asheville thanks to a write up in the New York Times.
In Wednesday's travel section, the paper featured west Asheville.
It called the community a gritty go-to destination where bistros mix with tattoo parlors. The piece described spots like The Double Crown as honky-tonk meets juke joint. It also profiled Biscuit Head, talking about its signature fig marmalade and The Oyster House Brewing Company, author sang the praises of it's moonstone oyster stout.
The article also features Harvest Records, a west Asheville anchor since 2004.
Another shout out went to the Odditorium, described as part Ripley's and part performance space.

Sunrise from our camp in the Blue Ridge Mountains
When we went to bed the night before the skies were cloudy. When I emerged from my tent at first sign of dawn the clouds filled the valleys as they rolled along the ridges. It was an amazing and dramatic scene to wake up to this.
