Peter Bay Villa Coco De Mer by Suite St. John Villas in the U.S. Virgin Islands is among the most exclusive St. John villas offering ultra-luxury amenities, elegant privacy, and majestic Caribbean views. Located at the exclusive lower Peter Bay Estate gated community on St. John, VI, this magnificent St. John vacation villa sits at the very top of the upper row of multimillion dollar Peter Bay villas stretching across a tropical hillside overlooking breathtaking Caribbean views of the U.S. Virgin Islands and British Virgin Islands.
Villa Coco de Mer is about a 5-minute walk to the white sands and turquoise waters of Peter Bay Beach which is private to Villa Coco de Mer guests. Peter Bay is one of the few parcels of pristine north shore land that was not deeded to the U.S. Virgin Islands' National Park in St. John by Lawrence Rockefeller in the 1950's.
Today, Peter Bay Estate is one of the wealthiest and most beautiful communities in the world because of its exceptionally magnificent & majestic natural Caribbean setting. Elegant and stately Villa Coco de Mer is tranquil, peaceful, private, and breathtaking as it is surrounded on all sides by the protected U.S.Virgin Islands National Park forests, waters and reefs.
St. John's Peter Bay villas all have deeded access to intimate Peter Bay Beach, which is located between the National Park beaches of Trunk Bay and Cinnamon Bay, and is very similar to these world class, exceptionally beautiful beaches. The fine white sand and usually calm turquoise waters of this exquisite beach provide tranquil swimming and excellent snorkeling. On a perfect beach day in February the National park beaches will host hundreds of people, but it's rare to see even a handful of people on Peter Bay Beach as it is privately owned and exclusive to Peter Bay guests.
The gorgeous views from St. John Villa Coco de Mer look north and east across the beautiful turquoise Caribbean Sea with views of Cinnamon Bay Beach, Francis Bay Beach, Whistling Cay, Mary Point, Great Thatch and Jost Van Dyke and Tortola in the British Virgin Islands!
It is a 5-10 minute, incredibly picturesque drive to the three restaurants at the acclaimed Caneel Bay Resort, and another 5-10 minute drive to the restaurants, shops and groceries in the fun loving, delightful town of Cruz Bay, St. John.

Annaberg Sugar Mill Slave Dungeon Virgin Islands National Park St. John, VI August 24, 2014 5:20 PM
Stains from iron shackles in the Annaberg Sugar Mill Dungeon remind us of the sadness and cruelty and yet despite it all there is a details etching/drawing on the wall said to be that of an imprisoned slave showing the building and the ship likely to have carried them there. Danish Governor Peter Von Scholten abolished slavery in 1848 and United States purchased the three Virgin Islands St. Thomas, St. John and St. Croix in 1917 for $25 million. It is a United States Territory. The dungeon is at Annaberg Sugar Mill and once the most productive plantation of 46 or so in the territory and produced the most sugar and rum in the world for a time. This cramped space likely held more than an adequate number and it gets cold at night, the window and door was for ventilation of urine, excrement and the deceased. It is a sad testament of man's inhumanity to man. One love.

Snorkeling St. John USVI - Kayak, SUP and Tire Swing (Cinnamon, Honeymoon & Gibney)
June 2015 - Love kayaking on the island. This trip we headed from Cinnamon Bay to Mary Point, then back along the shoreline by Francis, Little Maho and Maho. Took approx. 3 hours. Snorkeling at Mary Point was great - saw a nurse shark, tarpon and more. Unfortunately, missed most with the GoPro, changed to 4x3 resolution after this.
We also hit Caneel and did the Honeymoon Beach Day Pass. This allowed access to their Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUP's), kayaks, chair, hammocks, floating mattresses, etc.
And finally we hit Gibney beach for a short trip to the tire swing. Big hit with the kids.
