Mountain Whitewater Descents - Fort Collins, Colorado
In 1993, Brad Modesitt and his brother Kent canoed down the Poudre, Platte, Missouri, and Mississippi Rivers to end up 2400 miles later in New Orleans. This experience left both of them with a deep respect for our nation's rivers. Kent started law school and is now an attorney in Denver. Brad continued his journey and the traveling lifestyle bicycling 10,000 miles and sailing 3000 miles to southern Chile. When he returned a friend told him he should become a rafting guide. It was good advice. Brad still guides rafts down the river he loves enjoying the people, the scenery, and of course the rapids.

During his travels Brad learned what travelers need and want. A fun trip with experienced and entertaining guides. Professionalism means everything in every aspect of a business. A job should be fun. Work is only a four-letter word if you make it that way. Lead by example. Follow with respect and the desire to learn. Life is fun enjoy it everyday.
Brad now runs the business with his wife Lindsey and the big bosses, 31-month-old Ella and 2-month-old Chase. They love their jobs, lives, each other and the chance to show others how special the Cache La Poudre River is and why it is Colorado's only Wild and Scenic River
OUR GUIDES MAKE THE DIFFERENCE!
While the river is a vital part of your river trip, your guide makes the experience even more outstanding. We have some of the most experienced whitewater guides on the Poudre. Many started on this river and have since guided a wide array of other rivers. Most of our guides are college graduates with degrees like: Wildlife Biology, Natural Resource Management, and Forest Ecology, Recreation and Tourism. During the winter some are ski patrollers and teachers, some head to Central America to guide on rivers there. Each year we tap into the resources of the Colorado State University (CSU) and hold classes with our guides to further educate them on birds, wildlife, plants, and the rich history of the region.
