Trail Running Coyote Ridge
3-30-2013. Coyote Ridge Natural Area, Fort Collins, CO. Trail Sequence: Coyote Ridge Trail to Rimrock Trail to Blue Sky Trail (south) to Indian Summer Trail to Blue Sky Trail (north) to Indian Creek Rd and finally back onto Blue Sky Trail, where I followed the same path back to the parking lot. Filmed with GoPro Silver 3 using head strap. Ridiculous over-saturation is from standard GoPro settings (1080p, 30fps).

Gateway Natural Area, Fort Collins - In A Colorado Minute (Week 253)
--- ---
The Gateway Natural Area of Fort Collins, Colorado, is actually about 15 miles northwest of the city of Fort Collins, just off Poudre Canyon Highway (Colorado State Highway 14). Formerly known as Gateway Mountain Park, it's situated where the North Fork of the Poudre River joins the main arm of the Cache La Poudre River. Following the main hiking trail along the river for about a mile, you get to the former water filtration plant's rather impressive waterfall and the hidden oasis of Seaman Reservoir.
On Scott's birthday this week, Scott, GJ, Whiskey and I took the quick ride up to the Gateway Natural Area of Fort Collins and indulged in some of our favorite activities: fishing, filming, photographing, spending time with each other and running around in the snow.
This area, featuring the river, the reservoir, fields, mountains, several hiking trails, all of its natural beauty and its close proximity to Fort Collins, has quickly become one of our favorite year-round go-to places. The grills and roof-covered picnic tables, right at the beginning of the area, are an additional perk.

Mountain Biking Blue Sky | Fort Collins, CO
Blue Sky is a great little trail near the Horsetooth Reservoir west of Fort Collins, CO. It's a fairly easy and fast trail that still offers a good workout and great views of the foothills. This trail continues on, connecting to Indian Summer for a 10.7 mile out and back, or Devil's Backbone for a bone jarring addition. If you can, ride this trail during a weekday as this is a popular trail for hikers and runners during weekends (as with most trail systems). You'll fork out $6 to park at the Blue Sky Trailhead Parking if you don't have a season pass, but sometimes you'll get lucky and a fellow rider will hand you their day pass as they leave. Keep the rubber side down!
