Listening is a more natural way of learning, when compared to reading. Written language only began at around 3200 BC, but spoken language has existed long ago.
Learning by listening is a great way to:
- increases imagination and understanding
- improves your listening skills
- improves your own spoken accent
- learn while on the move
- reduce eye strain
Now learn the vast amount of general knowledge available on Wikipedia through audio (audio article). You could even learn subconsciously by playing the audio while you are sleeping! If you are planning to listen a lot, you could try using a bone conduction headphone, or a standard speaker instead of an earphone.

New York - The City of Dreams
My visit to New York was the first time I ever went to the United States. I have never left europe before and I was filled with anxiety to see a whole new continent, even if its just out the window of a plane
When we arrived at New York JFK airport, we got in a cab and went to the hotel. First a visit to the times square was necessary to strech my legs. I was absolutely blown away by the new world that opened up to me in this beautiful city.
To start with, the experience of skyscrapers was pretty cool, I think you can tell in this video. I was also amazed by the hospitality and politeness of the people around me. Even if I was foreign, this politeness made me feel at home very fast.
The many scenes filmed above the city were shot from the Empire State building and Rockefeller Center. These were my favourite trips and I would recommend putting these viewing deck locations on your sightseeing list.
The thing I enjoyed the most in New York was simply walking along the streets and seeing this new and different world open up and change behind each corner of this prefectly organized city.
