This neighborhood is simply beautiful! As I mentioned in the video it's like you are going a few centuries back in time. To the world of Alladin or Assasin's Creed! The narrow streets with the combination of old architecture make this an unforgettable experience for anyone visiting.Oh! The Coffee Museum! It's AWESOME! There are numerous rooms where you can learn about the history of coffee and witness some of the very old coffee machines from different countries that were used in 18th and 19th centuries.

The traditional style of life that was prevalent in Dubai from the mid 19th century till the 1970s is reflected at Al-Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, A visit to Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood is a great opportunity to get acquainted with the old way of life, which was prevalent in Dubai, with its rich values that can be seen in the design of the buildings and the way they are distributed. For instance, one cannot overlook the community's care for privacy that can be felt in the scarcity of front windows, their narrowness and highness. Also, the winding and twisting alleys and pathways, as well as erecting all of the district buildings facing south west towards the qibla, in addition to a number of values and principles that will unravel once the visitor experiences Al Fahidi Neighbourhood for themselves.

This atmospheric area in Bur Dubai is one of the oldest heritage sites in the city, with a neighbourhood that dates back to the early 1900s. A tour of the area offers a beguiling glimpse into the Dubai of a bygone era including traditional wind towers, bustling courtyards and maze of winding alleyways.
Dubai is a city and emirate in the United Arab Emirates known for luxury shopping, ultramodern architecture and a lively nightlife scene. Burj Khalifa, an 830m-tall tower, dominates the skyscraper-filled skyline. At its foot lies Dubai Fountain, with jets and lights choreographed to music. On artificial islands just offshore is Atlantis, The Palm, a resort with water and marine-animal parks.

See what traditional life in Old Dubai was like during the mid-19th century at Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood. Located along the Dubai Creek, this district is a key heritage site which has preserved much of the original infrastructure.
The traditional wind towers constructed from stone, teak, gypsum, palm wood and sandalwood represent only a small part of Al Fahidi’s history. Each alley, twisting pathway and breezy tower tells a story of a life before the Emirates.
Social life, cultural development and trade were prominent throughout this period. And you can still experience what life was like within these same streets – a must when visiting Dubai.
Follow the winding streets in Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood to discover a plethora of cultural activities, museums, art galleries, special events and traditional food.

Al Fahidi Historical District, commonly referred to as Al Bastakiya, holds the memories of an era that pre-dates the federation of the Emirates.
Dubai is known for glitz and glamour, but before the tourism boom, before the discovery of oil and before the union of the Emirati tribes in 1971, it was a vastly different place. The UAE was an area of sheikdoms – where bedouins lived as herders, date farmers and fishermen.
Throughout history, the UAE was known for pearls and was used as a pit stop along foreign trade routes, including Persian routes to Rome, the Silk Road to China, the Portuguese African routes and the British Spice Route to India.

How to get there:
The nearest Metro Station is Al Fahidi Metro Station (Green Line). You can walk from the exit (tap out left side) of Al Fahidi Station towards the Al Fahidi roundabout. Once there, you will see the Al Bastakiya area.

If you’re yet to get lost exploring Dubai’s historical quarter, then the Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood is filled with some amazing insights into the origins of this amazing city.
There are tonnes of art galleries, historical gems, cafes, cultural heritage sites and more, all contained within the neighbourhood, and there’s so much to learn about Dubai, and where it came from.
Tim and Darragh from Time Out Dubai Vlogs spent an afternoon literally getting lost among narrow alleyways, stumbling upon amazing pieces of art, learning about the Dubai Wall, which protected the city in the 1800s, and then visited the Dubai Museum in the Al Fahidi Fort, which was first constructed in the 1700s.

Dubai Butterfly Garden is an indoor garden which has ten domes that is sure to win your heart. The destination gives you the opportunity to see beautiful butterflies and gives you an insight into their world. Here you will be made to understand how butterflies evolve through each stage and so is a good learning opportunity for everyone. Also there are assistants to help you interact with the Butterflies and take beautiful pictures with butterflies. If you are travelling with kids this destination is a must visit.

Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood also known as Al Bastakiya is a historic district in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE).
The construction of Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood dates back to the 1890s. In its prime, the locality was capable of 60 housing units, most of which were separated by narrow, winding lanes. The town of Al Bastakiya was primarily built by immigrants from the city of Bastak, Persia.
Now this heritage area houses cafes, galleries, souvenir shops & a guest house.
How to get there by metro? Take a metro going to Al Fahidi station then walk less than a kilometer heading south. You can see a street signs going to this area.
