HONG KONG CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT | FAMOUS BUILDINGS IN HONG KONG
#centralhongkong #hongkong #discoverhongkong
Welcome to Hong Kong's Central Business District, where we show you the most famous buildings in Hong Kong. The Hong Kong skyline is probably the most famous in the world, with its iconic buildings, each with different features, and designed by feng shui masters to attract wealth and prosperity for the country.
Each one is a different shape, colour, and even angled differently. Some 1200 international multinational companies are based in Hong Kong, and Central also hosts the biggest international banks. including HSBC, Citibank, Standard Chartered, Bank of America, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, and many more.
Central being the CBD of Hong Kong is also where many doctors and lawyers are located, as well as the legislative council, final court of appeal. Cheung Kong is definitely one of the most famous iconic buildings, owned by Li Ka Shing.
'Central (also Central District; Chinese: 中環) is the central business district of Hong Kong. It is located in Central and Western District, on the north shore of Hong Kong Island, across Victoria Harbour from Tsim Sha Tsui, the southernmost point of Kowloon Peninsula. The area was the heart of Victoria City, although that name is rarely used today.
As the central business district of Hong Kong, it is the area where many multinational financial services corporations have their headquarters. Consulates general and consulates of many countries are also located in this area, as is Government Hill, the site of the government headquarters. The area, with its proximity to Victoria Harbour, has served as the centre of trade and financial activities from the earliest days of the British colonial era in 1841, and continues to flourish and serve as the place of administration after the transfer of sovereignty to China in 1997.
Central is located on the north shore of Hong Kong Island, across Victoria Harbour from Tsim Sha Tsui, the southernmost point of Kowloon Peninsula. It is bordered in the west by Sheung Wan, with the border being along Aberdeen Street (also called Wing Kut Street). It is bordered in the east by Admiralty, an eastern extension of the central business district. As such, Admiralty is sometimes considered a part of Central. Central is bordered in the south by Mid-levels, an area halfway up Victoria Peak. The boundary between Central and Mid-levels is not clearly defined.
For district council elections purposes, the area, together with Admiralty, correspond roughly to the Chung Wan constituency.[2] The boundaries of such constituencies may be subject to modification.[3]

HONG KONG WALKING TOUR IN CENTRAL (ULTRA HD 4K) - MANDARIN ORIENTAL HOTEL |香港文華東方酒店
#mandarinoriental #hongkong
Welcome to Hong Kong Walking Tour (shot in Ultra HD 4K) crystal clear quality. The walk begins in Mandarin Oriental Hotel, in Central, then onto Alexandra House, Chater House then onto the walkway that is linked to IFC. Most office buildings in Central are conveniently linked by walkways.
'Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong (Chinese: 香港文華東方酒店) is a five-star hotel located on Connaught Road in Central, Hong Kong, owned and managed by Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group. The hotel opened in 1963 as The Mandarin. In 2005, the hotel spent USD 150 million to renovate its 501 guestrooms, 10 restaurants, and numerous public spaces, as well as to construct the three-storey Mandarin Spa, one of a few Forbes Five-Star spas in Hong Kong.[2][3]
2005 renovation
The Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong has been noted for its interior decoration.[5] In 2005, authorisation was given for a total renovation of the hotel, and when it closed in December of that year the trading floor of the stock exchange held a mock two-minute silence in memory of the hotel. For the interim period during its renovation phase, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group launched an all-new property, The Landmark Mandarin Oriental, located in The Landmark commercial and shopping complex only a five-minute walk away, in order to continue accommodating guests without interruption. The Landmark remained open following the renovation, but maintains a distinctly more modern interior aesthetic to distinguish it from the original property.[9] After a USD 150 million renovation, Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong re-opened its doors on 28 September 2006, marking the event with a black-tie gala hosted by Dame Edna Everage with a performance by Bryan Ferry.[5] The renowned lobby, Captain's Bar, The Clipper Lounge, and Chinnery Bar remained recognisable after the renovation, but the remaining restaurants, bars, public spaces, and rooms were entirely new.[3]
The hotel contains 501 guestrooms, 67 of which are suites, overlooking Victoria Harbour and the surrounding cityscape. Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong operates ten restaurants and bars, including the Michelin-starred Pierre, Chef Pierre Gagnaire's first restaurant in Hong Kong.[10][11] Additional facilities include the three-story Mandarin Spa, indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, Mandarin Salon, and event space to accommodate functions of up to 600 people.[4]
The Mandarin Spa
The Mandarin Spa, opened in 2007, encompasses 2,100 m2 (23,000 sq ft) across three stories and incorporates an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre, holistic spa, Mandarin Salon, and Mandarin Barber. The spa draws on the established Asian healing philosophies of traditional Chinese medicine and Ayurveda. Additional features include an ice fountain, Chinese herb steam rooms, hydrotherapy, and the Kneipp pool.[2][12]

Welcome to our Hong Kong Tourist Spots video where I did 1 hour walking tour of Central. I walked from Pacific Place towards Central and back but using different routes. The tourist spots covered include of course Statue Square, Queens Road Central, Lan Kwai Fong, Pacific Place, Hong Kong Park, St John's Cathedral, and walked outside all the key financial buildings. Our video is shot in Ultra HD 4K, crystal clear quality, as if you are actually here.

HONG KONG WALKING TOUR (ULTRA HD 4K )- DES VOEUX ROAD CENTRAL | SHEUNG WAN
#honghong #central #centralhongkong
Welcome to Hong Kong Walking Tour (shot in Ultra HD 4K for crystal picture quality). Des Voeux Road Central is one of the main roads of the CBD of Hong Kong, and is also the road where the tram is. The walking tour starts at HSBC Bank headquarters in Central, and ends where tourists can take the Peak Tram.
'Des Voeux Road Central and Des Voeux Road West are two roads on the north shore of Hong Kong Island, Hong Kong.
Des Voeux Road Central
Section of Des Voeux Road Central, between the HSBC Main Building and Statue Square, looking toward Prince's Building.
Des Voeux Road Central runs from Western to Central. It begins at the intersection with On Tai Street in Western and merges with Queen's Road Central where it becomes Queensway (and, later, Hennessy Road). Landmarks along Des Voeux Road Central include:
9 Queen's Road Central
Alexandra House
Bank of China Building (#2A), which houses the China Club
Central Market
Hang Seng Bank Headquarters Building
HSBC Main Building, Hong Kong
Man Yee Building
Prince's Building
Standard Chartered Bank Building
Statue Square
The Landmark
Western Market (#323)[2]
Wing On House (#71)
World-Wide House
Public transportation
Des Voeux Road Central is shared between motor traffic and the tram line, with tracks and reserved lanes for the trams laid in the middle of the road. A bus lane runs along the road for most of its length. Part of the MTR Island Line also runs underneath Des Voeux Road.
Due to the discontinuity between Des Voeux Roads Central and West, the tram line takes a detour along Connaught Road West and then continues along Des Voeux Road West towards Kennedy Town.
The Central-Mid-Levels escalators link Des Voeux Road Central with Conduit Road in the Mid-levels, passing through narrow streets.'

The atmosphere may be fairly utilitarian, but don't be fooled - the staff here are very friendly and the house-made soft tofu is the main attraction, served either refreshingly cold, or comfortingly hot. A variety of toppings and flavors are available. Prices are quite reasonable.
The restaurant also has a few other snacks available, such as the Curry Fish Balls, Potstickers, and 3 kinds of Vegetarian Gluten (as shown in the video). These were quite tasty and affordable.
Thanks for watching! This has been another mmm Vancouver restaurant video from Check back on Geoffmobile.com for the latest videos about Vancouver restaurants and other cool things happening in your city!
See you next time!
Cheers,
Geoff
