Thrillist - Black Horse Tavern - Boston, MA
The culmination of a lifelong dream from a local police officer/real estate agent husband-wife duo, this upscale neighborhood resto/bar's modeled after an iconic 1700s Winchester pub and is slinging hearty American fare in the 84-seat former Black Horse Bootery, which's been richly outfitted w/ a 36ft mahogany bar, floor-to-ceiling stone fireplace, brown leather booths, copper ceiling tiles, and a row of bifold windows that can't decide whether they prefer to be opened or closed. Burly entrees include a 12oz chargrilled, herb butter'd New York Sirloin; salmon pan seared with honey/soy/ginger; and a thick center-cut Beer Brined Pork Chop served w/ applesauce and herb mashed potatoes, which're constantly in danger of devouring themselves while watching Robot Chicken. There's also handheld deliciousness like the half-pound Black Horse Burger w/ cheddar, sliced sweet Italian sausage, and caramelized onions; a cheddar/jack cheese'd BBQ chicken pizza w/ red peppers, cilantro, and lime; and a mozzarella melted steak tip sammie w/ grilled mushrooms/onions on a crusty French baguette that won't stop complaining about how much better things were under Mitterrand.

THIS NEW CAR WAS LYING UNDERGROUND 50 YEARS
Imagine winning a free, all original, 1957 Plymouth Belvedere classic car with only 4 miles on the odometer that is interwoven with the local culture and heritage. Sounds amazing right? Ok here's the catch, the car doesn't run, is held together only by rust and mud, and has spent the last 50 years buried in a waterlogged concrete vault. Who put it there and why? Let's find out.

Melissa Militia by Divided Heaven (live at Tanner Tavern in Woburn, MA) April 5, 2013
Amazing performance- video doesn't do justice. Divided Heaven (Jeff) was an opening act for Burning Streets from Woburn, MA. Divided Heaven was the best performance of the night. I wish everyone in the room would've stopped talking and just enjoyed the music.
Melissa Militia is the upcoming single from Divided Heaven. The music video was just filmed; the single and video will be released this summer!

Modern rock is a rock format commonly found on commercial radio; the format consists primarily of the alternative rock genre.[1] Generally beginning with late 1970s punk but referring especially to alternative rock music since the 1980s, the phrase modern rock is used in the USA to differentiate the music from classic rock.
A few modern rock radio stations existed during the 1980s, such as KROQ-FM in Los Angeles, 91X (XETRA-FM) in San Diego, WHTG FM 106.3 (now, WKMK) on the Jersey Shore, WLIR on Long Island, WFNX in Boston and KQAK The Quake in San Francisco.[1] Modern rock was solidified as a radio format in 1988 with Billboard's creation of the Modern Rock Tracks chart. The chart was based on weighted reports from college radio stations and commercial stations such as those listed above.[2] The 1988 episode of the VH1 show I Love the '80s discussed INXS, The Cure, Morrissey, Depeche Mode, and Erasure as modern rock artists representative of that year.
For most of the 2000s, modern rock radio stations mostly featured songs that were crossed over from the active rock format. This was often famous for the second wave of post-grunge and nu metal scenes that derived from grunge and alternative metal music, respectively, in the 1990s. During the early 2000s, these two genres made up most of the modern rock format, despite the format being a heavily diverse format genre-wise (for example, in 2003, it was not uncommon to hear The Postal Service, The Mars Volta, Junior Senior, Snow Patrol, Story of the Year, and The Black Keysall played on the same modern rock station). By the mid-2000s, the two genres were dropped, and the revivals of genres such as post-punk, garage rock, noise rock, and dance-punk (often tagged in as the post-punk revival of that time) took its place but the post-grunge and nu metal genres still had some success.

FILM DESCRIPTION:
The plot of this Raymond Chandler-esque comedy crime caper from the Coen Brothers (Joel Coen and Ethan Coen) pivots around a case of mistaken identity complicated by extortion, double-crosses, deception, embezzlement, sex, pot, and gallons of White Russians (made with fresh cream, please). In 1991, unemployed '60s refugee Jeff The Dude Lebowski (Jeff Bridges) grooves into his laid-back Los Angeles lifestyle. One of the laziest men in LA, he enjoys hanging with his bowling buddies, pompous security-store owner Walter Sobchak (John Goodman) and mild-mannered ex-surfer Donny (Steve Buscemi). However, the Dude's life takes an alternate route the afternoon two goons break into his threadbare Venice, California, bungalow, rough him up, and urinate on his living room rug. Why? Because Jackie Treehorn (Ben Gazzara) is owed money by the wife of a certain Jeff Lebowski. However, the goons grabbed the wrong Jeff Lebowski. With the right info, they would have invaded the home of philanthropic Pasadena millionaire Jeffrey Lebowski (David Huddleston). The Dude looks up his wealthy namesake, manages to get a replacement for his rug, and meets the millionaire's sexy young wife Bunny (Tara Reid). Later, Jeffrey (The Big) Lebowski calls in the Dude to deliver a $1 million ransom for the return of his kidnapped wife. Fine -- except that Walter intrudes and botches the ransom drop. As events unravel, the Dude gets caught up in the schemes of Lebowski's daughter, erotic artist Maude (Julianne Moore), encounters both cops and bad guys, and drifts through an elaborate bowling fantasy sequence titled Gutterballs. The soundtrack includes Bob Dylan, Yma Sumac, Moondog, Captain Beefheart, and the Sons of the Pioneers.

John Waters: Mr. Know-It-All | Talks at Google
No one knows more about everything—especially everything rude, clever, and offensively compelling—than John Waters. The man in the pencil-thin mustache, auteur of the transgressive movie classics Pink Flamingos, Polyester, the original Hairspray, Cry-Baby, and A Dirty Shame, is one of the world’s great sophisticates.

Sideways
The misadventures begin when Miles (Paul Giamatti), an un-recovered divorcé and would-be novelist with a wine fixation, decides to gift old college buddy and washed-up actor Jack (Thomas Haden Church) with a celebratory trip to the vineyards of the Santa Ynez Valley the week before Jack's wedding. The two couldn't be an odder couple. Jack is an over-sexed charmer; Miles is a sad-sack worrier. Jack is looking for his last taste of freedom; Miles just wants to taste perfection in a bottle. Jack is fine with cheap Merlot; Miles pines for the elusive, perfect Pinot. Indeed, the only thing they seem to share in common is the same heady mix of failed ambitions and fading youth. And yet, as they make their way up the coast, Miles and Jack soon find themselves drowning in wine and women. Both men careen dangerously and comically toward mid-life crises. Now, the wedding approaches and with it the certainty that Miles and Jack won't make it back to Los Angeles unscathed or unchanged...if they get back there at all.
