We love going to Seaside, Oregon. Come along with us on our drive. We stayed at The Best Western Seaside Inn and it was very nice. We highly suggest having a meal at Finn's Fish House or even a bite to eat at Dooger's Seafood & Grill. For fresh raw or smoked seafood options Bell Buoy of Seaside is awesome and the guys there are very friendly. They even have samples!
Spring Unveiling Cannon Beach Oregon 2019
Spring Unveiling 2019 In Cannon Beach Oregon -
Each May, the galleries in Cannon Beach celebrate the new year with the Spring Unveiling Arts Festival. Participants can attend a reception and meet the artist behind a favorite watercolor landscape or chat with a renowned photographer or public bronze sculptor. With visiting and local artists providing unveilings of their latest works, demonstrations, and presentations in a town known for its vibrant art scene, this festival is a great way for visitors to experience the arts in Cannon Beach.
Art galleries around town pull out all the stops, featuring new works, demonstrations and receptions showcasing their top artists all weekend long. Featured artists often include internationally known talents like master photographer Christopher Burkett, who has earned the Hasselblad Masters Award and featured in Popular Photography & Imaging and Forum magazines. Well-known sculptor Georgia Gerber also often makes appearances at the festival. Gerber is best known for her public works including the animal bronzes surrounding Pioneer Courthouse in downtown Portland, Rachel the Pig in Seattle’s Pike Place Market and locally for the Tufted Puffins at Cannon Beach’s Midtown bus stop. The festival has also featured a variety of painters including Anton Pavlenko, who creates brightly hued landscapes; and Kelly Denato, who turns paint and canvas into otherworldly beings.
Popular local artists also turn out only their very best for Spring Unveiling, including painter Jeffrey Hull and glass artists Suzanne Kindland and Jim Kingwell. Jeffrey Hull has been capturing the North Oregon Coast in watercolor and oil for over 40 years, drawing his inspiration from the ocean and landscapes of the area. Kindland and Kingwell, owners and primary artists at Icefire Glassworks in midtown Cannon Beach, have been blowing art glass since 1971.

Stormy Weather Arts Festival 2018 | Cannon Beach
The Stormy Weather Arts Festival has been one of the Cannon Beach’s most popular events for over a quarter century and celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2017. Since its inception, the first weekend in November has been a celebration of the arts in Cannon Beach, where you can immerse yourself in the creative culture that has long been a part of this community. As in the beginning, the event still focuses on a wide range of visual and performing arts, offering the opportunity to meet artists and discuss their work, listen to local musicians, take in gallery events and experience why Cannon Beach has been recognized as one of “The 100 Best Art Towns in America.”
Over the past few years, the event has grown to include a spotlight concert that showcases accomplished or up-and-coming musicians in the intimate setting of Cannon Beach’s Coaster Theatre Playhouse; the Dancing in the Rain Fashion Show featuring apparel and accessories from local and national designers; and Brews, Blues & Barbecues where guests can sample local beers while enjoying live blues and a barbecue lunch.
The Stormy Weather Arts Festival weekend is filled with art gallery events, receptions and special guest artists. On Friday evening and all day Saturday, visitors can wander from gallery to gallery enjoying a variety of receptions and artist demonstrations and catch free live music performances with regional musicians at indoor and outdoor venues throughout the town as they go.

Oregon-Portland and Seaside
Our Holiday on the Oregon and Washington Coast
Thank you so much for watching our adventure! The PNW is a magical place and one of our favorite places in the world! Below is an itinerary of our trip with some resources on where to stay and sight-seeing recommendations.
ITINERARY
DAY 1:
Flew into Portland OR, drove 2 hours to Seaside, OR on the coast & stayed in an Airbnb on the beach. Seaside is an affordable option, but not necessarily my favorite. The town felt a bit tired.
DAY 2:
Drove south along the coast exploring Cannon Beach (amazing!) and climbed on the rocks by the ocean at Ecola State Park. The is one of my FAVORITE places to have an adventure. We continued south for 2 hours and made stops in the small coastal towns along the way.
DAY 3:
Drove north through Astoria, OR (this is where Goonies and Kindergarten Cop was filmed). We caught the farmers market and shopped downtown. We love Astoria because it has an authentic fisherman's wharf vibe. We continued north into Washington and stayed at an Airbnb in Moclips, WA where we hunkered down for a few days. Moclip was perfection - a sleepy town with miles of beach and no one around. Only 1 grocery store within 45 min, so we cooked and relaxed. We were able to do day-trips into Olympic National Forest from our rented beach house.
DAY 4:
Went for a hike around Lake Quinault Lodge. Gorgeous property with a beautiful historical cabin nestled on the lake. It started raining so we sat by the huge fireplace inside and did puzzles and read. To say it was cozy is an understatement.
DAY 5:
We drove north from Moclips for a few hours to the Hoh Rainforest where we hiked for the day. We stopped at random beaches along the way to climb on their logs and rocks.
DAY 6:
We had no lodging reservations anywhere and purposely didn't plan where we might go for the next 2 days to feel out what we might want do. We decided to go back to Cannon Beach and treat ourselves at a beautiful resort on the beach. We stayed at the Surfsand Resort, which is directly in front of Haystack Rock. Our room had a gas fireplace in it along with amazing views of the coastline and Haystack.
DAY 7:
Drove back to Portland and stayed the night downtown to catch our flight the next morning.
