This was a wonderful trail for nature lovers like our family. This is not the usual hike that we do as a family but I was so surprise on how me and my son liked it. It was so peaceful.
If you will notice I didn't do my introduction at the beginning of our day because my husband pissed me off that morning. LOL But walking in that trail made me calm and I didn't even notice that I'm way ahead of my boys because I'm enjoying it so much.
We even found a spot where we can camp maybe before summer ends or during fall season. But for me, the weather when we hiked it was already perfect for camping. We will definitely go back there to see the 5 falls because we just hiked up to the second falls. My son cannot continue with the hike anymore and was complaining and we don't want him to cry. LOL
We finished the trail with a record of almost 19km (11 mi) on our Garmin watch. Overall, it was a wonderful day hike with lots of beautiful scenery. Enjoy the hike! :)

hiking upper cascade falls ouray colorado
Hiking in the Rocky Mountains of #Colorado is always a great outdoor experience. While hammock camping near Ouray, Colorado I decided to hike to #Upper Cascade Falls and Chief Ouray mine east of Ouray. Upper Cascade Falls cannot be seen from Ouray, but the building at Chief Ouray mine can be seen high above Lower Cascade Falls. Both the lower and upper falls are very picturesque waterfalls.
The Upper Cascade Falls trail starts in the Amphitheater Campground in Ouray, Colorado. The Upper Cascade Falls trailhead starts at an elevation 7,900 and the elevation gain to the mine is 1,560 with a maximum elevation on the trail of 10,000. Roundtrip to the mine and back is close to 5 miles. The trail is well marked and is considered moderate – strenuous.
Camping and hiking in the San Juan Mountains is great. Mt. Sneffels is to the west and is also a great hike. The Million Dollar Highway, US 550, runs through Ouray and is a great road for motorcycle riding. Taking It Outside

Engineer Hike & Cascade Creek
This is a cool hiking adventure I took with some friends back in 2014. We hiked to the summit of Engineer mountain in Colorado, then jumped off some waterfalls in cascade creek at the base of the mountain.
Video was shot on a GoPro by a friend of mine. The original posted video can be found here:

Cascade Falls Ouray Colorado
Up 8th Avenue to the northeast side of Ouray is the beautiful Cascade Falls. The Ouray Perimeter Trail - a hiking trail that circles Ouray goes through the park.
Lower Cascade Falls, Ouray, Colorado 4K
While hiking the perimeter trail at Ouray, Colorado took a break at the bottom of Cascade Falls to take the short video from the bottom of the falls looking up. Sitting by the bottom of the falls was very welcoming since the mist was so cool on a hot day. The wind you hear in video is generated from the water fall. This video was done with my GoPro 5 Black set to 4K video mode.

BACK on the ROAD! || SW Colorado Boondocking || Lime Creek Rd.
Hey guys! In this week's video we share a brief stay at a pretty picturesque spot in the San Juan National Forest, about 40 minutes north of Durango, Colorado. This is wild camping with a 14-day stay limit and Leave No Trace principles in effect.
There are nearby hiking trails, lakes, and the lovely Cascade Creek. This spot is a bit buggy so be aware of that!
This area is close to all kinds of things to do in Durango to the south and Silverton to the north (more of that next week!)
