Fun fact: The Gateway Arch is a catenary (not a parabola) and is described by the hyperbolic cosine function y = Acosh (Bx).

Places to see in ( Saint Louis - USA )
St. Louis is a major city in Missouri along the Mississippi River. Its iconic, 630-ft. Gateway Arch, built in the 1960s, honors the early 19th-century explorations of Lewis and Clark and America's westward expansion in general. Replica paddlewheelers ply the river, offering views of the arch. The Soulard district is home to barbecue restaurants and clubs playing blues music.
St. Louis, the largest metropolitan area in Missouri, is a major midwestern metropolis filled with culture. St. Louis planners have created an aesthetically beautiful city with green space at the street level. It is said that St. Louis is second only to Washington, D.C. in the number of free activities available in an American city. The Gateway Arch, the world's tallest man-made monument, forms a triumphant city skyline. An open mall surrounded by reflecting pools leads up to the historic court house, the site of the Dred Scott decision, facing the Gateway Arch.
The city is named after King Louis IX of France. St. Louis is known by the nickname of The Gateway to the West. The city was the last major stop before pioneers journeyed Westward to the Pacific coast. The city also played a large part during the steamboat era due to its position at the confluence of the Mississippi River and the Missouri River. St. Louis was acquired from France by the United States during President Thomas Jefferson's term in 1803 as part of the Louisiana Purchase. The transfer of power from Spain was made official in a ceremony called, Three Flags Day. On March 8, 1804, the Spanish flag was lowered and the French one raised. On March 10, the French flag was replaced by that of the USA. In 1904, St. Louis hosted that year's World's Fair and the Summer Olympic Games. Many of the parks, buildings, and finer homes in St. Louis were built around this time period. While there are few, if any, living residents who attended the Fair, it holds an important place in the modern development of the city.
Slide into St Louis and revel in the unique vibe of the largest city in the Great Plains. Beer, bowling and baseball are some of the top attractions, but history and culture, much of it linked to the Mississippi River, are a vital part of the fabric. And, of course, there's the iconic Gateway Arch that you have seen in a million pictures; it's even more impressive in reality. Many music legends, including Scott Joplin, Chuck Berry, Tina Turner and Miles Davis, got their start here and jammin' live-music venues keep the flame burning.

St Louis City Garden // Arch Grounds & Flood // Alton, Illinois // Tour
A quick walking tour through St Louis Citygarden, the grounds of the Arch and a look back at downtown Alton, Illinois during the ongoing flood.
Citygarden is an urban sculpture park located in downtown St. Louis. The park is an oasis of free interactive art, fountains and gardens spanning two blocks in downtown St Louis. Paved, winding paths lead visitors past 24 sculptures resting on wide lawns, six rain gardens, a children's spray plaza and 180-foot-long pool with six-foot waterfall.
Two walls stretch along the property; A granite topped meander wall serves as ample seating for visitors, while a taller, curved wall of Missouri limestone stretches across the property creating several more private spaces. The park is not enclosed from the street and can be entered from any direction. Ordinance year: 2009, 2.9 acres.
Didn't go into the Arch Museum this round, but will later this summer. The views were spectacular even on this very windy and rainy day and I'm sure it didn't help with the Mississippi trying to push along flood waters.
Sorry about the wet lens! Didn't know it was wet while filming - very windy and rainy day!! :)

From KETC, LIVING ST. LOUIS Producer Patrick Murphy explores the new St. Louis Citygarden. Dedicated in summer 2009 during an opening ceremony with Mayor Francis Slay, Citygarden is a sculpture park between 8th and 10th Streets along Market Street. Located in the heart of downtown on the site of what had been two long-deserted blocks, the park includes various art installations, water features, and green spaces.

St Louis city damnation Part 1
The city of St.louis has come to be known as a rough place to live. Like Baltimore and Detroit, St.Louis is one of the once great cities that are on the decline. The crime and urban blight that has hit St.Louis is just a symptom of globalization, and the overall decline in America as a manufacturing force. Run down streets, buildings in once great neiborhoods is the norm now. The streets that I vcaptured in this video are in North St.Louis or 'the city. I remember this area well as a kid, cause I played in Fairgrounds Park which was near. I also went to Westley House where learned how to play baseball, and the YMCA where I learned how to swim. I worked at my fathers shop during my Summers as a teen, and went to my grandfathers little church. I also remember the thousands of happy workers leaving the Auto plant that was on Natural Bridge and Union. There were many great companies that made their home in St.Louis. But not anymore. many left long ago. Now, when i visit St.louis and see what the STL has become after all these years makes me sad. and even mad. This video is ment to let every see what has become of the city of St.Louis...

A little about the garden from their website -
Founded in 1859, the Missouri Botanical Garden is the nation's oldest botanical garden in continuous operation and a National Historic Landmark.
The Garden is a center for botanical research and science education, as well as an oasis in the city of St. Louis. The Garden offers 79 acres of beautiful horticultural display, including a 14-acre Japanese strolling garden, Henry Shaw's original 1850 estate home, and one of the world's largest collections of rare and endangered orchids.
For over 158 years, the Garden has been an oasis in the city, a place of beauty and family fun—and also a center for education, science, and conservation.

Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis - St. Louis Missouri: Video Tour
Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis - St. Louis Missouri, USA: Video Tour.
(Saint Louis Cathedral). Enjoy...
The Cathedral Basilica of Saint Louis, also known as the Saint Louis Cathedral, is a cathedral of the Roman Catholic Church located in the Central West End area of St. Louis, Missouri. Completed in 1914, it is the mother church of the Archdiocese of St. Louis and the seat of its archbishop, currently Robert James Carlson. The cathedral is named for Saint Louis and was designated a basilica by Pope John Paul II in 1997.
The cathedral was built as a replacement for the previous Cathedral of St. Louis located along the Mississippi River. Although workers began clearing ground for the building on May 1, 1907, dedication of the Cathedral and its first mass did not take place until October 18, 1914, when the superstructure was complete. Consecration of the church took place more than a decade later on June 29, 1926. The church is known for its large mosaic installation (which is one of the largest in the Western Hemisphere), burial crypts, and the addition of an outdoor sculpture to promote racial harmony.
