What a fantastic trip! Will Colon knows the Fremont County area and specifically Canon City so well. His knowledge of history combined with the tour makes this a very memorable experience. I highly recommend putting this trip on your to do list if you are visiting the area. And if you live here you owe yourself more education than you would ever expect from a jeep tour

Royal Gorge Bridge and Park in Cañon City Denver Colorado United States
One of the deepest cracks in Colorado, the actual crack is about 10 miles long with the Arkansas river running through it with granite walls that rise above 1,000 feet. Crack was created about three million years ago when a trickle of water began to slowly carve a canyon in the granite rock solid first. That thread is now the rage Arkansas, one of the longest rivers in America. The Arkansas River continues to carve all its depth, at a rate of about a foot every 2,500 years.
The actual crack is considered a wonder of the world, with its rare red granite formations and has been referred to as the Grand Canyon of Arkansas by early explorers of America. The width at the bottom of the crack is not more than 40 to 50 feet

Ep. 23: Silverton, Colorado | RV Colorado Free Camping Boondocking | Grand Adventure
Silverton is a quaint, lovingly restored former mining community deep in Colorado's rugged San Juan Mountains. Here you'll find a less spoiled Colorado, where the town's welcoming Greene Street is surrounded by mining ruins, ghost towns and strikingly beautiful off-road driving. Come explore Silverton with us on this Kitchen Table Trips episode of Grand Adventure! We'll find relaxing boondocking while camped in the National Forest next to the bubbling waters of Mineral Creek, see the historic Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, ride a mine train into a former gold mine deep in Galena Mountain, and take a 4x4 excursion to the ghost town of Animas Forks at a lofty 11,200 feet.

ABOUT US
Welcome to Grand Adventure, a YouTube channel that focuses on RV-centric outdoor activities including not only of course camping, but also mountain biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing and more, nearly always filmed in stunning 4K.
We're based in Salt Lake City, Utah, and invite you to come along as we travel all around the western U.S. My wife Patricia and I, and our dogs Zoe and Maggie are avid boondockers, so you'll seldom find us in RV parks or even dry campgrounds. Instead, we're usually camped in some of the most remote and beautiful spots that you could ever pull a travel trailer into. And unlike most other RV channels on YouTube, we're not RV dealers or full-timers -- we're weekend warriors just like you!
We'll provide tips and insight on equipping and maintaining your RV, trip planning and travel videos to make your next adventure a grand one indeed! So, subscribe to make sure that you catch every episode, and remember...life is nothing but a Grand Adventure!

Crystal Mill Snow - Colorado HD
when you introduce technology with history (2) you get phenomenal life moments captured in time
The Crystal Mill, or the Old Mill is an 1892 wooden powerhouse located on an outcrop above the Crystal River in Crystal, Colorado, United States. It is accessible from Marble Colorado via 4x4. Although called a mill, it is more correctly denoted as a compressor station, which used a water turbine to drive an air compressor. The compressed air was then used to power other machinery or tools. Today it stands as a Colorado icon, and is reputed to be the most photographed site in the state.[2]
