Gliding Through Everglades National Park - Coopertown Airboat Rides - Miami, Florida
There are only a few airboat companies that are certified through the National Parks system to operate within Everglades National Park. Coopertown Airboats, in Miami, Florida is one of those few. We brought our parks pass along and checked in to ride on a river of grass through the everglades. We spot fish and birds and even a few alligators!

Boggy Creek Airboat POV Ride Experience on Lake Apopka in Central Florida (About 30 Min From Disney)
We had the opportunity to ride an airboat for the first time with Boggy Creek Airboat Rides last week! While the company operates most out of Kissimmee, they also are beginning to offer rides in Apopka. There were alligators around, but not nearly as many as you'll find in the morning or in the late afternoon/evening - we recommend riding then if you are looking for more. Airboats can travel much faster than we ever expected, and we look forward to another ride in the future! Lake Apopka is situated about 30 minutes from Walt Disney World.

14th of Dec 2015 Everglades Coopertown Air Boat Tour
Karen, myself, Steve and Bev drive out to Coopertown Air Boat Tours on Gator Alley in the Everglades to take a tour and see more Alligators and experience the Everglades. It was a great experience and much cheaper than some of the tours offered closer to Miami. I got some underwater video with the GoPro of alligators up close and we got to feel and touch a baby alligator and a Boa Constrictor..

One of Floridas oldest active Airboat Associations in the Miami Everglades had their annual bbq Saturday, April 29, 2017. (7 miles west of Krome ave on Tamiami Trail)

We got to participate in the BBQ where they had ribs, chicken, hot dogs, and pulled pork sandwiches, and of course lots of beer. There was an everglades animal show featuring a scorpion, giant toad, baby alligator, a tiny desert fox, a porcupine, an ant eater and more!
The best part was when we got to go on a private airboat ride thanks to our friend Chris and Cass, the owners of Scullys tavern in Miami.

The Everglades Safari Park is about 35 minutes away from the city of Miami. Although there are many parks and airboat tours, this one stood out to me because it had a bit more then just an airboat ride it had a park and a little show.
