Driving on US Route 1 in South Miami, Florida
North of Snapper Creek (Canal C-2), US 1 continues northeast and enters another section of unincorporated Miami-Dade County. Here, US 1 forms the Snapper Creek Expressway's (State Road 878)'s eastern terminus. The Dadeland South Metrorail station lies just south of the Expressway, on US 1's northern side, and acts as the handover point between the South Miami-Dade Busway and the Metrorail line, which proceeds to parallel US 1 for most of its subsequent journey into downtown Miami. The South Dixie Highway then crosses into South Miami at South 80th Street. At State Road 959 (Red Road/West 57th Avenue), US 1 leaves South Miami and enters Coral Gables, still headed northeast. At West 38th Avenue (Brooker Street), it leaves Coral Gables and enters Miami, heading northeast towards the southern terminus of Interstate 95 just south of downtown Miami. At this point, there is a signage gap in the route even though it is federally and state defined as cosigning with I-95 and SR 970 all the way to Biscayne Boulevard, where US 1 signage resumes.

Wiki:
Miami-Dade Transit (MDT) is the primary public transit authority of Miami, Florida, United States and the greater Miami-Dade County area. It is the largest transit system in Florida and the 15th-largest transit system in the United States.[2] Ridership dropped 27% from 2010 to 2018.[3]. From 2014 to 2018, each year there were less riders than the prior year.[4]
MDT operates the rapid transit Metrorail, the Downtown Metromover people mover, Metrobus, and paratransit STS systems. Metrorail is composed of two rail lines (Green and Orange lines) with 23 stations radiating from the city center towards outlying neighborhoods north and south of Downtown. Metromover operates throughout the Downtown and Brickell neighborhoods, and is composed of three rail loops and 22 stations. Metrobus operates over 93 routes, including the South Dade Transitway. [5] MDT's main transit stations are Government Center in Downtown, and the Miami Intermodal Center in Grapeland Heights, near Miami International Airport.[6]
As of 2011, MDT has a daily passenger ridership of 336,067, and accounts for over 15% of Miamians' daily transportation. MDT has seen growing passenger ridership since 1998, with ridership increasing 79% since then. The opening of the new Metrorail Orange Line in April 2012 is expected to significantly increase usage of the system.[7] Although not under the control of MDT, Tri-Rail is Miami-Dade's commuter rail system, and connects Miami north to Fort Lauderdale and West Palm Beach.
Currently, the Director of the authority is former City of Miami Manager Alice Bravo. The MDT headquarters are located in the Overtown Transit Village in Downtown Miami.

Description: Metrorail, colloquially called the Metro, is the heavy rail rapid transit system of Miami and Miami-Dade County in the U.S. state of Florida. Metrorail is operated by Miami-Dade Transit , a departmental agency of Miami-Dade County. Opened in 1984, it is Florida's only rapid transit metro system, and is currently composed of two lines of 23 stations on 24.4 miles of standard gauge track. Metrorail serves the urban core of Miami, connecting the urban centers of Miami International Airport, the Civic Center, Downtown Miami, and Brickell with the northern developed neighborhoods of Hialeah and Medley to the northwest, and to suburban The Roads, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, and South Miami, ending at urban Dadeland in Kendall. Metrorail connects to the Metromover in Downtown, which provides metro service to the entirety of Downtown and Brickell. Additionally, it connects to South Florida's commuter rail system at Tri-Rail Station, as well as Metrobus routes at all stations. Together with Metromover, the system has seen steady ridership growth per annum, with an average of 105,500 daily passengers in 2013. In 2012, Metrorail opened its 23rd station, Miami International Airport station, at Miami International Airport , opening a newly created 16-station Orange Line between the MIA and Dadeland South stations. The new line is expected to increase ridership significantly, adding millions of riders per year, and allowing residents and visitors alike direct access from the MIA to Downtown Miami, and greater connectivity between various modes of transit throughout Miami-Dade County. Central Station provides direct service to Amtrak inter-city rail services, Tri-Rail commuter rail, Greyhound Lines intercity bus, and the Rental Car Center. Miami Central Station is expected to attract 150,000 daily commuters and travelers.

These new trains feature automatic announcements destination displays and functioning Air conditioning!
