Best Whale Watching Cape Cod - Dolphin Fleet Review & Pilgrim Monument
Friendly Review of Dolphin Fleet Whale Watch Provincetown and the Pilgrim Monument and Pilgrim Museum in Provincetown. We visited Cape Cod Massachusetts in July 2017 and wanted to go on a whale watch. The Dolphin Fleet is well priced and has a lot of departure times. We saw a lot of whales (9 in total) diving, spy hopping, lob tailing, spout breathing, and a lot of breaching (chin breaching, and whole whales jumping out of the water). The was the best whale watch tour that we could have asked for. (with the exception of seeing a bubble net, but I won't complain) I hope your experience is as good as ours was.

Pilot Whale Stranding on Hardings Beach in Cape Cod, Massachusetts
A pilot whale stranded Monday afternoon on Hardings Beach in Chatham, Cape Cod. The Cape Cod Stranding Network and the International Fund for Animal Welfare were called in to provide basic medical support until a bulldozer and flatbed truck could arrive. Moist blankets kept the marine mammal wet on the frigid winter beach until 5:30pm when the trucks arrived to begin the process of transportation to a facility where more substantial medical care could be provided.

Whale Watching in Cape Cod
RV living has brought us to Plymouth for some Whale Watching around Cape Cod. We were planning to see the Mayflower replica and Plymouth Plantation, but the Mayflower was being restored and Plymouth Plantation isn't that different from Jamestown (which we had just seen). After exploring Plymouth and Plymouth Rock, we returned for a Whale Watching cruise around Cape Cod.
It was amazing! If you even get a chance to go whale watching in Plymouth, we highly recommend that you do. We saw dozens of Humpback whales on the 3 hour Captain John Boat cruise.

Whales of Cape Cod
Whales are a part of Cape Cod's history. In the past, many Cape towns flourished due to whaling. For example, thanks to its whaling industry, Provincetown was once one of the wealthiest towns in Massachusetts.
Today, the Center for Coastal Studies, the Dolphin Conservation and others on Cape Cod are working to protect Cape Cod's remaining whale population.

Gray Whales Newport Beach
This video features a gray whale and possibly a newborn calf just outside the surf zone at Newport Beach, CA, at sunset on Jan 19, 2013. Spectators agreed there were two whales. One appeared to be a calf. Given their closeness to shore, time of day, spyhopping, fluke and fin waving, rolling, and seemingly gentle behavior, this event could have been a birth. They were not present 30 minutes prior to the video. The video has two video sequences separated by stills of a spyhop. These are amazing creatures. We're so lucky to live along their migratory path. Enjoy!
