Shore Fishing for Salmon on the Fraser River, BC
Today we're on the shoreline of the Fraser River in British Columbia. I've never fished for salmon on the Fraser River before, and I'm glad you can join me today.
The Chinook salmon run is pretty much over, but there are still a few opportunities left to get into coho and chum salmon.
For using artificial baits while fishing for salmon, I prefer to run a spoon, such as the python darter; crankbaits, like the misty minnow or the American smelt; or spinners. Today I'm lucky enough to run a prototype spinner from Thundermist Lures.
With this spinner, I'll be giving it a nice slow retrieve from the shoreline. The flash and fluttering of the blade should work in enticing a salmon hit.
I'd also like to point out that it's not early in the morning, but rather mid-afternoon. The time of day doesn't matter as much for two reasons. It's tidal water (incoming tide) along with scattered light rain showers and overcast skies.
We're also running with barbless hooks today.

The Canadian National and Canadian Pacific Mainlines out of Vancouver run along the Fraser and Thomspon Rivers on their way to Kamloops, BC. I was able to railfan along this unique route for a couple days and get some nice action.
Sturgeon Fishing on the Fraser River in Chilliwack British Columbia, Canada
In this video, we share our experience sturgeon fishing on the mighty Fraser River in British Columbia. The prize catch of the day was about 400lbs and 9 feet long (at least that was our best guess).
We spent about 6 hours on the river and caught 3 sturgeon that day. I would have been happy with just one, so I'll file this fishing excursion as a huge success.

Craziness! Gold Panning Fraser River BC (CRAZY TRIP! 2018)
Gold panning the Fraser river in BC has never been so CRAZY! what an adventure we had looking for gold. Dad and I spent two days looking at three gold claims. this was the third claim. The road leading to the back side of the river took us all the way in with only one BIG snag. And Mother Nature played an April fools day joke on us. We found great gold, and even a Platinum nugget (maybe?) The Fraser river is known to have platinum, maybe we just found a piece.

Fraser River | British Columbia
The longest river in British Columbia drains into the Pacific Ocean in the southern West coast of British Columbia. It is home to chum, chinook, coho and pink salmon, along with many species of trout and steelhead and finally one of the most amazing prehistoric fish the sturgeon.
Spending the day on a Jet Boat fishing for Sturgeon is a once in a life time British Columbia experience. If you've never felt the pull of a real life dinosaur before, you need to give it a try, it's something you won't ever forget.
It's one of the crown jewels in British Columbia and you can literally follow it for days. This section is where it's journey almost comes to an end at the Pacific Ocean.

Bottom bouncing for sockeye salmon. Fishing friend helping another fisherman netting a fish. Using Bottom Bouncing technique, fisherman catches Sockeye Salmon in the Fraser river.
Sockeye salmon once get into the river system, they stop bite. So, people use this bottom bouncing technique to catch them. DFO only allow to catch them while expected numbers of spawning fish already reach their spawning ground.

I took the cable car across Hell's Gate, a rather dangerous section of the Fraser River. Fish ladders had to be installed so the salmon could continue their run up the Fraser.
