This is a short film of the Frog Pond in Boston Commons in Boston, Massachusetts. The Boston Common is alleged to be the oldest park in the United States, founded in 1635 by a sale of land from William Blackstone to the Puritans, led by John Winthrop. From the Archives: Frog Pond in Boston Common
When the Boston Common was founded in 1634, the Frog Pond was a spring-fed watering hole for cows. By the 1850s, the city built a fountain inside the pond to commemorate the recently established waterworks that brought clean water to Boston. In 1898, the pond became a swimming hole, and city kids are still enjoying it today.
