Places to see in ( Trani - Italy )
Places to see in ( Trani - Italy )
Known as the 'Pearl of Puglia', beautiful Trani has a sophisticated feel, particularly in summer when well-heeled visitors pack the array of marina-side bars. The marina is the place to promenade and watch the white yachts and fishing boats in the harbour, while the historic centre, with its medieval churches, glossy limestone streets, historic Jewish quarter and faded yet charming palazzi is an enchanting area to explore. But it's the cathedral, pale against the deep-blue sea, that is the town's most arresting sight.
The town dates to about 1000 AD and became an important port city. Frederick II fortified it with a castle and protective walls, and it had a large, active Jewish population in the Middle Ages, at one time boasting four synagogues. Today, two remain; one, Scola Nova, dates to about 1240 has been reopened and functions as an active synagogue. The other, Scola Grande, had been converted to the church of St. Anna when the Jews were expelled, but now that church is home to the Diocesan Museum, which offers a Jewish art section. Trani had a bustling giudeca district, a Jewish neighborhood (not to be confused with a Jewish ghetto, which was a closed section.) Traces of the once-rich culture can be seen in those sights, as well as places that bear names, like Piazza del Sinagoga and Via Giudeca.
The cathedral is the focal point and primary landmark of Trani, a pink-hued stone structure that sits right on the waterfront. It is built in a distinct Pugliese version of Romanesque style, with intricately-carved portals, doors and window settings. Don't miss the lower level, which is surprisingly more ornately decorated than the main sanctuary. The town's park, called Villa Comunale, is a nice green space with a promenade along the sea and a beautiful view of the cathedral from the quay (called il Fortino).
Trani is still an active port, with pleasure boats and a fishing fleet -which means super-fresh seafood on the tables! Don't miss a chance to sample the delicacies that Puglia is famous for. It has about 56,000 residents, so there is plenty of cafes and restaurants and shops to enjoy, too. Trani is north of Bari and near the fascinating castle built by Frederick II, Castel del Monte.
Near the cathedral is the church museum, the Museo Diocesano, which exhibits a collection of sculpture and archaeological finds from Trani's churches. Trani's defensive fortress, the Castello Svevo, is on the shore just beyond the cathedral. It dates to 1249 and is one of the many castles built in southern Italy by the Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II, one of the area's most interesting historical figures. For a long period (until the 1970s) the building was used as a prison; nowadays it's open as a tourist attraction, although there isn't that much to see. There is an admission charge, although tickets are reduced for 18-25s and free to under-18s and over-65s. The castle houses occasional exhibitions and special events.
On the low headland behind the cathedral is the oldest part of Trani's historic centre. Exploring the lanes here, the visitors comes across picturesque corners and interesting sights like the roadside bas-reliefs pictured on the left. The most famed of Trani's historic dwellings is the fifteenth-century Palazzo Caccetta on Via Ognissanti, which belongs to the council. Nearby is a twelfth-century church built by the Knights Templar, the Chiesa di Ognissanti. Trani was on a route used by crusaders heading to and from the Holy Land, and there was a hospital here for the sick and wounded. You can see the exterior of the church from the harbourside (the curved apse) or from the lane the other side of the building; unfortunately it is not usually open to the public.
Inland towards the railway station the streets are more modern but despite the traffic which runs along them, there is still a rather old-worldly air to the wide pavements and shops. It's a promenading kind of town, and some of the lanes and squares probably haven't changed since the nineteenth century. In one mellow piazza a sign advertises: Trani: Città Slow; in the midday lull the description couldn't have been more apt: other than a bird singing we were the only life.
( Trani - Italy ) is well know as a tourist destination because of the variety of places you can enjoy while you are visiting Trani . Through a series of videos we will try to show you recommended places to visit in Trani - Italy

Welcome to my Channel. This video is dedicated to Cesare Tripodo a.k.a. DJ Trip. I met Cesare in the year 1985, while buying vinyl records at Stereo Mondo a local record store in the center of the city of Bari. I was just 16 years old, and I was so scared to approach someone I knew was a great DJ. I began mixing only a couple of years before at a radio station called Bari Radio Gamma. Astonished by his friendliness, the extreme humbleness and affability he showed and, surly surprised, I would have never thought that, in the following 30 years of my career where I traveled the World and the seven seas I would have never met again a human soul with the same heart or nevertheless the same talent. DJ Trip is my Myth, my Hero and the person whom inspired and always inspires me during my career and life.
25 years later, after his tragic disappearance, another famous DJ, Pasquale 33, delivers to me two mixed audio cassettes with my name on it. He tells me that he found them in the DJ Trip’s Records case. Those two cassettes and their significance will always rest with me, just like the memory of the only time we worked together. I had the pleasure of introduce him in this video made by Miki the Red of Red Film Production, during the second edition of DJ Trophy in 1991. Stereo Mondo of Giorgio Ricci organized this event, with Service e P.A. of Diemmebi service Discoteca Mobile Bari of Nico Iannone. The venue’s name was Fiera Del Levante, and the Exhibition name Expo Levante.
Cesare Tripodo had just won the Italian Championship of the D.M.C. circuit and just placed second on the same event in the European tournament. Unfortunately, an unstable platform compromised a bit his performance, which stands anyway as a memorable one, along with the rap of Master Freeze. For those few who did not have the pleasure to know him, DJ Trip was renowned for his DJ talent. Spinning with two turntables and a two-channel mixer, Cesare often used the scratch technique with mix cutting, back spinning (usually using two versions of the same track) and punch-sing, mixing hip hop vinyl with his feet moving the fader with his nose and mouth, with the clock theory technique. To learn more about DJ Trip please visit the following links. It was just a reason to be together with you dear friends and with the great Mater Freeze.

Venice Italy City Tour
Venice Italy City Tour
Venice is a city in northeastern Italy and the capital of the Veneto region. It is situated across a group of 118 small islands that are separated by canals and linked by bridges, of which there are 400. The islands are located in the shallow Venetian Lagoon, an enclosed bay that lies between the mouths of the Po and the Piave Rivers. Parts of Venice are renowned for the beauty of their settings, their architecture, and artwork. The lagoon and a part of the city are listed as a World Heritage Site.
In 2014, 264,579 people resided in Comune di Venezia, of whom around 55,000 live in the historic city of Venice (Centro storico). Together with Padua and Treviso, the city is included in the Padua-Treviso-Venice Metropolitan Area (PATREVE), with a total population of 2.6 million. PATREVE is only a statistical metropolitan area.
The name is derived from the ancient Veneti people who inhabited the region by the 10th century BCE. The city was historically the capital of the Republic of Venice. Venice has been known as the La Dominante, Serenissima, Queen of the Adriatic, City of Water, City of Masks, City of Bridges, The Floating City, and City of Canals.
The Republic of Venice was a major financial and maritime power during the Middle Ages and Renaissance, and a staging area for the Crusades and the Battle of Lepanto, as well as a very important center of commerce (especially silk, grain, and spice) and art in the 13th century up to the end of the 17th century. The city-state of Venice is considered to have been the first real international financial center which gradually emerged from the 9th century to its peak in the 14th century. This made Venice a wealthy city throughout most of its history.
It is also known for its several important artistic movements, especially the Renaissance period. After the Napoleonic Wars and the Congress of Vienna, the Republic was annexed by the Austrian Empire, until it became part of the Kingdom of Italy in 1866, following a referendum held as a result of the Third Italian War of Independence. Venice has played an important role in the history of symphonic and operatic music, and it is the birthplace of Antonio Vivaldi. Venice has been ranked the most beautiful city in the world as of 2016. The city is facing some major challenges, however, including financial difficulties, erosion, pollution, subsidence, an excessive number of tourists in peak periods and problems caused by oversized cruise ships sailing close to the banks of the historical city.

Trulli, The traditional dwellings in Alberobello, Italy
Trulli, The traditional dwellings in Alberobello, Italy
Alberobello — A small town and commune in the province of Bari, in Puglia, Italy. The town is located on two hills divided by the river. On the east stands the modern Alberobello, and on the west - famous for its unique med-evals buildings Trullo, They take their name from the Latin world Trulla which means dome. Original structures called Trulli of Alberobello give unique uniqueness. These unusual white houses with conical roofs from the whole street.
The Trulli in the Apulian town of Alberobello are famous worldwide for their beauty and unique characteristics, and represent one of the most extraordinary examples of Italian folk architecture. They were built in a particular historical period, when the construction of stable dwellings was highly-taxed; the inhabitants of the region thus boasted a great capacity to adapt, and an exceptional cleverness in coming up with the idea for the Trulli, temporary houses built with the local stone. Trulli di AlberobelloFrom precariousness to stability - the process of transformation and recovery, and the deference to the originality of the work earned the Trulli of Alberobello (in Apulia) their recognition as a World Heritage Site. In the southeastern zone of the Murge Plateau, more precisely in the area of Valle d'Itria, these buildings are scattered throughout the territory, where they stand out with their white walls and famous cone-shaped roofs.
Alberobello is universally-known as the capital of the Trulli. Here, each Trullo is of a different shape and size. Unique constructions, they are sometimes combined in a complex of communicating houses, while others are built on two levels. Most of them feature a grey cone-shaped roof that ends with a sphere or hemisphere shape. The interior, arranged as a single chamber, is constituted niches for a fireplace, bed and various furniture. The structure assures excellent indoor climate control: cool in summer and warm in winter!
