Korea 2019 Vlog # 5 - Jeonju Hanok Village / Gyeonggeojin Shrine / Ommukdae / Korea BBQ
30.04.2019 - Tuesday
My 6th day here in Seoul. Finally the weather is clearing up and we're heading to Jeonju. Another early start for us. We didn't booked the bus ticket so we need to go to the counter and buy the tickets. Took us 40 minutes to arrive from Hongik Station to the Express Bus Terminal. Actually I've been here before with my mom on Sunday. When we arrived the earliest bus we could get is on 08:20am and it's excellent class. Just spent a lil bit more than what we budget for but it's okay as long as we could get to Jeonju the earliest the better.
It's 2 hour and 50 minutes bus ride with 1 rest stop break for 15 minutes. The bus ride was smooth. I don't know. I felt really safe and comfortable riding express bus in Korea. (Done it before from Busan to Seoul) compared to Malaysia. I can't sleep a wink men. hahaha. Anyway, once arrived we head for 10 minutes walk to a main road from the bus terminal to catch the inter-city bus to the Hanok Village. The bus ride was about 30 minutes? Can't remember but hell yeah the driver was hella mad. lol but it was okay compared to when we get back from Hanok Village.
First we enter the Gyeonggijeon Shrine. Again, I'm not super fancy about history but since I'm here and of course Didi's here we enter the shrine. Hahaha. It's interesting and pretty. I wish we had something like old palace or house from years ago remain here in Malaysia. Sobbs. Then had a quick brunch inside the shrine. My mom prepared some sandwiches and boiled eggs for us. Then continue our tour around the shrine.
After the shrine we walk around the hanok village. We headed to Ommukdae. I was not ready for some hiking okay. LOL. My mom didn't join us for the hike. It was a steep hill but yeah Ren managed. LOL thanks to the little 1 hour work out afterwork daily. Then we took some time to chill out at a cafe. It was hot on that day. Remind me of how hot Malaysia is. We didn't eat any of the famous dishes in Jeonju (Bibimbap or Street Food) because we're not sure how safe it is for us to eat. Haha nevermind we go eat like a feast during dinner later. Then head back to the bus terminal. I think our bus were around 5.00pm. We bought the ticket as soon as we arrived at Jeonju.
Took us almost 3 hours to arrive or probably more? LOL then once arrived we head to Gangnam for some lamb bbq. Had a good amount of food then we head home. As usual we went around Hongdae area first before we head back to our airbnb.

12FLY TV - 1913 Songjeong Station Market, Gwangju
Songjeong Station Market was opened in 1913, in conjunction with the opening of Gwangju-Songjeong Station. In the 1990s, there were still a lot of people dropping by for foodstuffs and groceries.
With the increase of large super marts; it slowly loses its shine. In order to retain the street culture of housing traditional markets, Gwangju Metropolitan City, Hyundai Corporation and Gwangju Invention and Innovation Centre cooperate to preserve the original buildings, it was refurbished and reopened on 18 April 2016, successfully redesigned as a specialty market, became the new landmark of the younger generations and families.

CLS Korea Week 3 | 광주일상블로그
OK,so weeks 2-3 was when things were extremely patchy and I recorded basically nothing (I regret it). I'm contemplating making a video concerning the things that happened as I have briefly mentioned it once (the small video explaining my absence when I was still in Korea). Anyway, I decided to leave the music out on this one because since the content is already minimal, I figured adding dialogue could liven it up (and there's music playing or singing in the background in many of the clips). (application closes in the fall)
