Stalin’s Underground Secret Printing House Museum, Tbilisi, Georgia
Joseph Stalin Underground Printing House Museum Tbilisi
These are a few images from inside the odd Joseph Stalin Underground Printing House Museum. It's like a real time warp into the Soviet past. And Zhuli the guide still believes. This video was made to accompany a more extensive essay which can be found at The Anadromous Life.

STALIN Underground PRINTING House Where Communism Started (Budget Travel Georgia) {Tbilisi GEORGIA}
Budget Travel Georgia #4
The Stalin Underground Printing House, in Tbilisi Georgia, can lay claim as one of the places where Communism started. Certainly it was where Joseph Stalin started his Communist activism.
The Cold War ended three decades ago though in a non-descript building of a Tbilisi suburb, the embers of Communism still flicker. An old Party hand maintains the documents and artifacts regarding the history of Communism, particularly of the Caucuses. This includes the rusting printing press where Stalin and the Bolsheviks charmed out literature well before the 1917 Russian Revolution.
After receiving a personal tour, a Communist Party meeting starts. That's a no-no to record, as Matt is reminded.

Secrets of Stalin - Pt 1 | Stalin’s Underground Printing House
#Stalin #undergroundprintinghouse #secretsofStalin
The 'Secrets of Stalin' are found at Stalin’s Underground Printing House in his country of birth, Georiga at 7 Kaspi Street, Argaveli, Tbilisi. Stalin was a 24-year-old with communist ideas that started developing from an early age. He printed communist newspapers and leaflets magazines against the Russian Empire for three years. The underground printing house was 15 meters below the kitchen. He was born 90km from Georgia’s capital of Tbilisi in a small town called Gori. His museum is located in Gori, however, the Underground Printing House is located in Tbilisi.
A bit of USSR history: Alexander Bogdanov and Vladimir Lenin founded the Bolsheviks in 1903. The Bolsheviks led the Russian Revolution in 1917. Bogdanov and Lenin founded the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic, which later became the Soviet Union. Joseph Stalin was the 2nd Bolshevik leader after Vladimir Lenin

Secrets of Stalin - Pt 2 | Stalin’s Underground Printing House

Stalin’s Printing House in Tbilisi depends heavily on donations and that means there are times when it remains closed, but keep visiting and eventually you will hit the jackpot (consider making a donation to the museum on your visit). It took me four days of trying, and eventually, I was successful. The museum is run by an old Georgian man who claims to be the present Communist leader; he does his best to keep the museum alive. An old German-made printing machine seems to have succumbed to the forces of nature and slowly rusting away.

Inside Stalin Museum in Gori Part 4 Georgia October 2013
Stalin Museum in Gori
????The Joseph Stalin Museum is a museum in Gori, Georgia dedicated to the life of Joseph Stalin, the leader of the Soviet Union, who was born in Gori. The Museum retains its Soviet-era characteristics.
????The museum has three sections, all located in the town's central square. It was officially dedicated to Stalin in 1957. With the downfall of the Soviet Union and independence movement of Georgia, the museum was closed in 1989, but has since been reopened, and is a popular tourist attraction.
????Stalin's house
✔Enshrined within a Greco-Italianate pavilion is a small wooden hut, in which Stalin was born in 1878 and spent his first four years. The small hut has two rooms on the ground floor. Stalin's father Vissarion Jughashvili, a local shoemaker, rented the one room on the left hand side of the building and maintained a workshop in the basement. The landlord lived in the other room. The hut originally formed part of a line of similar dwellings, but the others have been demolished.
