This is a video of the First floor of the new Laramie County Library. The first floor houses the fiction, science fiction books along with Movies, Books on CD, video games, and music CDs. The newspapers and magazines are also on this floor. There is also a large meeting room and Synergy cafe.

This is a video of the Third floor of the new Laramie County Library. The third floor is the adult floor. It houses nonfiction, reference, and genealogy books. It also has the computer room, study rooms, and meeting rooms.

Wyoming Library ~Laramie County Library System in Cheyenne
Laramie County Library System is located at 2200 Pioneer Avenue in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The new 103,000 square feet, three-story building will open on September 8, 2007. It's funded by most of the $26.9 Million approved by Laramie County voters in Nov 2003 for library improvements. This magnificent building is being built by Colorado's FCI Constructors. The site is bordered on the North by 23rd St., the East by Pioneer Ave., the South by 22nd St., and the West by O'Neil Ave. Until September 8, the Library is in their 1969 building located at 2800 Central Ave.

This is a video of the Second floor of the new Laramie County Library. The second floor is the kiddie floor. It houses children's books and kid's movies, tapes. It is the super-fun floor! There are many toys for fun and education.

Capitol building in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Ground broke on September 9, 1886, the cornerstone was laid on May 18, 1887, and it was built for $131,275.12. It looks similar to the National Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. The first two courses (layer of masonry) are made from sandstone from Fort Collins, Colorado quarries; remainder is of sandstone from Rawlins, Wyoming quarries.
The Capitol is bordered on the South by 24th St., the West by Carey Ave., the North by the Herschler Building, and the East by Central Ave. The replica of the Liberty Bell is at the SouthWest corner. The Spirit of Wyoming cowboy & horse statue lies to the West. The bronze Bison statue is on the East side. The Esther Hobart Morris statue lies at the base of the steps and faces South. The Calf statue is on the South. The Spanish American War statue is to the SouthEast. The Capitol faces the Train Depot to the South.

Laramie (Wyoming) - In Another Minute (Week 271)

Today is Wyoming's 125 anniversary! On July 10, 1890, this wild west land received its statehood. What better day to publish the video I shot of the picturesque and authentic town of Laramie, Wyoming, this week? Congratulations, Wyoming!
Laramie is only about an hour north of Fort Collins, via an easy and beautiful drive up Highway 287. I enjoyed roaming and filming the downtown area so much - with its buildings dating back all the way to 1869, cowboy culture, delicious food (Jeffrey's Bistro on the corner of Ivinson and N. 2nd), authentic old-timey bars (The Old Buckhorn Bar and Parlor on Ivinson is actually on the State Register of Historic Places!), and incredibly friendly people - that I'm sure to head back up there more often. Oh, and can I just gush about the trains and train tracks? Just seeing the words Union Pacific let's my imagination roam...
Laramie is the seat of the only 4-year university of Wyoming, which may be one of the reasons why old Western culture and modern alternative culture co-exist. It has an interesting history including stories of Western heroes and villains, first women voters and jury members. More recently, it also became known internationally as the place where Matthew Shepard was murdered. While since moving to Colorado, I have learned of the theory that he was not killed because he was gay but because of dealing crystal meth, I would like to focus mostly on the fact that his tragedy was a catalyst for positive awareness and change regarding how mainstream society views and deals with LGBT culture and people. Sometimes good things come from dark events.
I sincerely hope that no one I captured in this video will be offended by being in the video. If you are, please let me know and I'll replace that shot.
Soon, I will publish a post on my personal blog with photos from Laramie, especially because I captured a lot more than could fit into this 1-minute video. But right now I'm going to put on my brand-new Get your beaver buckin' (featuring a rodeo girl riding a big beaver, oh yes) to celebrate 75 years of Jubilee Days and 125 years of Wyoming Statehood. Whee-haaaw!!!

Day 2: Cheyenne, WY
Hey everyone! We're on to Day 2!!! This morning I got up first and got ready. When I got out of the bathroom Grace and Abbie were up. Abbie went in next to get ready. A few minutes later, Grace and I heard singing from the bathroom. Abbie was joyfully singing opera while brushing her teeth! We all got ready and were waiting out by the van for Mrs. Wooley at 11:30.
Once we were all in the van, we headed off to Cheyenne, Wyoming!!!!! We stopped for gas before leaving North Platte. We all got little snacks and drinks. Then we were on our way. It rained the whole entire way. Abbie and I slept most of the way, while Grace watched Angels and Demons on her lap top. After her movie was over and Abbie and I were awake, we started entertaining ourselves. We all got really excited when we saw the state border sign for Wyoming!
Bubbah told us to get off on this exit once reaching Cheyenne. So we listened to her and she brought us to this Supply Store! That was definitely not where we weren't supposed to be. We then tried a different way of putting the address in. Bubbah brought us to yet another wrong location! It was a totally different school then where we needed to be. Mrs. Wooley, Abbie, Grace, and I were getting pretty irritated with Bubbah, but we still had faith in her. So we tried one last time to put in the address a different way.
SUCCESS! Bubbah brought us to the right location this time! Grace, Abbie, and I went searching through to building to find the guy in charge. We couldn't find him, but we found a nice man who showed us to the door where we could unload our van, and he kindly turned on the stage lights for us. After we got the set setup, Mrs. Wooley had us go through the show once to review things. We went behind the set and got our costumes on and waited for our first show to begin!!
The show went great. The audience seemed to have a fun time! I had a so much fun signing autographs for the first time! We all signed our characters names: Grace was Sally, Abbie was Daisy, and I was Bonnie. We took down the set and loaded it into the van. I had some trouble getting the poles through the hallway. By then, all of us were beyond hungry. We pulled up to a Denny's, which just so happened to be closed. So we found a Village Inn. After waiting 1 hour to order, because there was only one woman waiting tables!! She told us she had worked from 6am till 11pm and that she had to do that same shift again tomorrow! We all scarfed down our food in no time. We headed to the hotel; we all were out in no time! It was a great second day and first show! I cannot wait till tomorrow.
