Paris, France: Saint-Germain and the Odeon at the Left Bank (Rive Gauche)
Tha area around Saint-Germain and the Odeon is one of the most interesting in the left bank of Paris. There is a contrast between the busy streets with cafes and rsetaurants and the quieter ones in the direction of the Museum of Orsay. The area around the church of Saint-Sulpice is also interesting for shopping.

Hotel Moderne Saint Germain on The Left Bank (Rive Gauche) of Paris, France
Ah...Paris! What better place to celebrate a landmark event and that is where ex-Marine (husband, Steve) chose for his 70th birthday. We stayed at Hotel Moderne Saint Germain quite a few times before and the Left Bank of the Seine (Rive Gauche) happens to be our favorite area. Close to Notre Dame Cathedral, the bars, restaurants and hip shops (not that I can afford to buy anything)...the Ile de Louis and Ile de la Cite...
A fast flight from Chicago on American Airlines using miles for free tickets (doesn't that word free spread happiness throughout your body?) and it was Bonjour, Paris... Who cares if it is November...this is PARIS!

Paris: Left Bank, Louvre, Versailles, Marais, Carnavalet, walking tour
Walking tour past Pompidou Centre, into Notre Dame, along Ile St-Louis, to the Latin Quarter for Greek dinner, a bus tour, walk the Champs Elysées, metro to the Marais, Place des Voges, Musée Carnavalet, Louvre, Versailles, and street party
Among the world’s greatest cities, Paris is a must for any serious traveler. If you have never been, you must go, and if you have been there, you already want to go back again. Paris is the biggest city in Europe, with a regional population over 10 million, so you should take a half-day bus tour for an overview and use the excellent metro -- but the finest way to get around will be your own two feet. Wear comfortable shoes, as this is a great walking city. The art of walking has been called the ‘flaneur’ in Paris, which connotes an aimless stroll sharpened by the keen appreciation of little details.
3 Days In Paris, France -1- the Seine, Left Bank, Place Saint-MIchel, Notre Dame
A real-life travel video by TRAVEL FLIX
We're happy to be back in Paris - and lucky to find an affordable, authentic, hotel right on the river Seine - across from the Louvre! Although still tired from traveling we start with a long walk along the river to enjoy the art, book-sellers and atmosphere - and the beautiful evening! We pause to enjoy the busy Place Saint-Michel, then plunge into the Latin Quarter in search of dinner - a wonderful, noisy, adventure in itself.
Soon after we discovered Notre Dame - glowing in the sunset, which required a walk around this fabulous monument. Finally, a quiet day-end stroll back to our hotel.

It's the Paris of poets, painters and post-war effervescence: the Left Bank or Rive Gauche is forever associated with the artists and intellectuals who filled the cafés and bars of the French capital in the mid-twentieth century. Writer and journalist Agnes Poirier has plunged into that golden age for her latest book, a historical study of the personalities and the exchange of ideas that shaped French society for decades to come.
With cameos from Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, James Baldwin and Juliette Gréco, Left Bank serves as a stroll along the boulevards of the cultural capital of the 1940s.

Paris, Left Bank: Montparnasse, Rue Mouffetard, Goubelins
The Boulevard Montparnasse is one of the most famous ones in Paris, always busy and full of cafes and restaurants. It is in heavy contrast with the rue Mouffetard, a narrow street and now a torist destination in itself. Rue Mouffetard ends at the Gobelins neighborhood.

Saturday Evening on the Left Bank of the Seine
A brief look at people relaxing, dancing, and holding picnics on the left (south) bank of the Seine River in Paris, just east of Notre-Dame Cathedral and on the north side of the Latin Quarter. This was recorded on an extremely hot and humid evening in August. Most of the people seen in the video are Parisians rather than tourists (the tourists scarcely know that this place exists).
(Some of the original salsa music to which people are dancing has been overdubbed, in order to prevent YouTube's mindless robots from falsely identifying the music as a copyright infringement.)
Paris, let's stroll the left bank in Paris
Let’s take a walk through a park, stroll through a church, see the Christmas trees outside the Panthéon and people watch at a café.
Latin Quarter, Saint-Michel in Paris. Lively Left Bank lifestyle with bohemian vibe.
Le Quartier Latin is the oldest neighborhood in Paris, housing academic institutions like the Sorbonne alongside incredible works of architecture like the Panthéon and the Notre Dame Cathedral, 8:50. Winding cobblestone streets, many French bistros, cheap and cheerful bars and cafes and popular landmarks: these are only some of the features that contribute to the neighborhood's charm. Nestled on the west side of the historic Latin Quarter, Saint-Michel is one of the most-visited areas of Paris. The international flavor is most evident in the Chinese, Greek, Japanese, Italian, and French restaurants and specialty food stores that line the streets. It’s the kind of place to go to for a casual meal. La Sorbonne is right up the street. The theatres open every night and the bookshops are common in the area. While wandering the Latin Quarter, take time to admire the Eglise Saint-Séverin, one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in Paris. The architecture combines various styles, with stained-glass windows dating from the 14th and 15th centuries. Enjoy!
