Niagara Falls, New York: Downtown Driving Tour (Including Niagara Falls State Park)
This driving tour video of Niagara Falls, New York starts at the intersection of Pine Avenue and Hyde Park Boulevard. After passing through Little Italy, we narrowly avoid getting on to the Rainbow Bridge to Canada before traveling through the tourist section and looping around Goat Island (Niagara Falls State Park).
Niagara Falls is, of course, a city across the Niagara River from the city of the same name in Ontario, Canada. The population now sits at 50,000, down sharply from over 100,000 in the 1960's. Evidence of this downslide can be seen at times in the video where blocks sit empty and overgrown where houses once stood.

NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y.
(WIVB) - Authorities in Niagara Falls delivered a direct hit in the war on drugs in a crackdown that stretched across the city, busting three suspected drug houses along the way.
Citizen complaints led to the search warrants, which were executed on Valentine's Day.
Niagara Falls Police Capt. James DeMarco said, They recovered some crack cocaine, a quantity of marijuana and we did recover a gun. And guns off the street are always good.
Narcotics detectives raided a building on Ashland Avenue, which was in deplorable condition according to the police report. The structure was condemned by city inspectors.
One of the places had been used not only to sell narcotics but it was also a place where people were smoking crack cocaine. So it was a place that we needed to not only get those people out of there but to board it up, Capt. DeMarco said.
Search warrants were also executed in the 500 block of Memorial Parkway, and a location on Falls Street near 24th. Police say they uncovered a small marijuana growing operation inside an apartment.
Mayor Paul Dyster credits residents with calling in tips.
We believe that the strength of the police department ultimately begins with its roots in the community, Dyster said. For every one of these drug houses that we take down, there are a hundred or more neighbors that are ready to high-five us because we made a difference in their lives.
But police say these types of investigations take time. Just because you don't see a police response the next day doesn't mean they're not on it, building a case.
Capt. DeMarco said, As we get more complaints we'll keep looking at these places. And then of course the narcotics people will prioritize, and we'll take them down as we can.
These are quality of life issues, according to Dyster, and he says every time police make a dent, it's a victory. Dyster says this is just the start of a renewed emphasis on these issues.

Places That Will Pay You To Live There!
Many states throughout the US have noticed a large population decline and need to start getting more people there even if a little bribery is necessary. Without some incentives to get people to live there, the states could lose income tax, property tax, and essentially go broke. Some other cities just want to see a healthy population increase to help the economic or just to see some rural areas grow. A lot of people are heading to big cities nowadays and leaving the rural areas which still need people to help it prosper. You have to wonder though, is it worth the extra cash to live some kind of boring? From places that might be a good spot to build your zombie apocalypse bunker, to places that might forgive student debt, Today we’re gonna take a look at places that will pay you to live there!

4.Niagara Falls
Possibly one of the best places on this list you can move to would be Niagra Falls/Buffalo area, New York state. This area is located very close to an excellent source of clean, flowing water. Lake Erie and Niagara Falls will provide residents with the luxury of having clean water during the apocalyse, which will of course be essential. Buffalo is also ranked as having the 5th best food supply in the US. The main setback would be of course the cold weather during the winter but hey, there’s always jackets that can keep you warm. The program is mainly targeted to bring young people to the downtown area of niagara falls. Many people have been moving out of new york state for various reasons including the rough property tax. But millenials suffering from student loan debt can receive up to 3500 dollars a year to help them pay it off. It’s not as much as kansas pays but still a decent amount considering how much there is to do in the area.
3.Wyoming
Wyoming is the countries least populated state which would also make it an excellent place to spend the end of days in the case of an apocalypse. Not only is the housing in this state extremely affordable, you’ll be surrounded by beautiful mountains in a remote part of the country. The main problem with people wanting to live here, is that it’s cold, there isn’t a lot going on, water is scarce, a lot of the land is owned by the feds and not too easy to access for immigrants. There potentially dozens of reasons but there are 4 times as many people living in Las vegas than this entire state. The only way to really get people to move here is to offer them something. You might even be able to get a free house in the state capital of Cheyenne that apparently no one has wanted to move into yet. The wyoming rehabilitation and acquisition program helps make it more affordable for people who want to purchase a fixer-upper. It still seems like wyoming is gonna need more than free homes to bring people in. We’re sure you can still enjoy a simple life here just fine and people who live here love that there’s virtually no traffic!
2.Detroit, Michigan
The city of detroit has seen some tough times recently and about 400,000 people have moved from this place over the past 20 years now. Now that the price of living here is getting considerably low, could it be a good time to finally move there? It supposedly has been experiencing a rebirth since everything is becoming so cheap. Tech industries enjoy the cool weather in order to cool down their massive servers and the rent here is dirt cheap in comparison to the silicon valley. New homeowners in some areas can recieve as much as 20,000 dollars in forgivable loans which would be put to the cost of buying a new home. In order to attract more jobs, certain companies are given a break when it comes to taxes and other fees. This makes it quite attractive to entrepeneurs looking to maximize profits.

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - The City of Buffalo has placed 10th on Forbes Magazine's list the most dangerous cities in America.
Topping that list is Detroit, MI.
Despite its falling crime rate, Buffalo placed 10th.
There's clearly a problem. I don't know what the answers are but there's clearly a problem, says Desmond, a Buffalo resident.

Beauty of Niagara Falls
Niagara Falls is located between Lakes Erie and Ontario sharing a border with New York State. To get to Niagara Falls from the United States, visitors can travel by car over one of three bridges: The Rainbow, Peace or Queenston-Lewiston Bridges. Three international airports service the area: Buffalo in the US, Hamilton and Toronto. Buffalo and Hamilton airports are approximately 40 minutes drive and Toronto is just over one hour away. Via Rail/Amtrak also provide service directly into Niagara Falls.
Niagara Falls was first brought to the attention of the European explorers when Father Hennepin was shown the wonder by Native Americans. It was named the Honeymoon Capital of the World after Napoleon Bonaparte's brother spent his honeymoon here.
Annie Edson Taylor was the first person to go over the Falls in a barrel. She was hoping this feat would make her rich and famous. She died penniless. Since then, several attempts have been made to conquer the Falls. Unfortunately, more have failed than succeeded - they never lived to tell the tale. Attempting any such daredevil exhibitions now is illegal and comes with an extremely hefty fine.
Several battles of the War of 1812 (the only war the American Army ever lost) were fought here. Laura Secord, a settler's wife, played a prominent role in that war - before the chocolate company made her famous. She overheard US troops planning an ambush against the British and walked over 20 miles in enemy territory to inform British Troops of the impending attacks. Although she received little recognition for her heroism during her lifetime, today Laura Secord is considered to be a Canadian folk hero.
Niagara Falls offers a wide variety of Sightseeing Opportunities that centre around the Falls as well as many other wonders. We offer Winery Tours featuring Niagara's World renown ice Wines, biking and hiking along the Niagara Escarpment, wildlife viewing at Marineland, ZOOZ, the Niagara Parks Butterfly Conservatory, the Bird Kingdom, gaming at one of two Vegas-style Casinos. You name it, we have it.
The biggest news for Niagara Falls is the announcement of a new Convention Centre for Niagara Falls. The details are being finalized as we speak, but they should be breaking ground fairly soon. We are expecting the opening to happen some time in 2010. In short, it's an exciting time to be part of Niagara Falls' Tourism Industry.
