Electronica 2014: SIGFOX and Industrial RF Kit
French startup SIGFOX is the only provider of dedicated cellular connectivity for the Internet of Things and M2M communications. The company’s network complements existing high-bandwidth systems by providing economical, energy-efficient two-way transmission of small quantities of data, thus lowering barriers to wide implementation of IoT and M2M solutions, and greatly extending the battery and service life of connected devices. SIGFOX‘s global network is deployed through the SIGFOX Network Operator partnership program, with more than one million square kilometers already covered.
During Electronica 2014, Atmel Senior Application Engineer Dr. Peter Sauer reveals how SIGFOX is being used in the industrial setting using a SIGFOX base station and an RF application.

Authors@Google: Barbara Solomon
The Authors@Google program welcomed Barbara Solomon to Google's New York office to discuss her literary magazine, The Reading Room.
Barbara Probst Solomon started her literary career as a teenaged American girl in post-
World War II Paris. She introduced Peninsula, an anti-Franco literary magazine that was smuggled across the Pyrenees into Spain into the annals of Spanish history. Today Ms. Solomon is working at the cutting edge of the publishing business with her current literary magazine The Reading Room. Whereas in the past books and magazines were produced using expensive editorial and typesetting resources and required the dedication of capital to the warehousing of a large print run, The Reading Room is produced by the writers and printed on demand. As Saul Bellow, who had many small magazines of his own, put it when he joined the board of The Reading Room with Norman Mailer, Stanley Crouch, Larry Rivers, Daphne Merkin, Don Maggin, and Juan Goytisolo, There is no reason why good writers shouldnt take advantage of modern technology.
This event took place on July 13, 2009.
