HOW TO COOK CHURRASCO GRILLED (AKA SKIRT STEAK)
I cooked it for 3 minutes per side @ (400°F / 205°C) indirect heat.
Baste with searing sauce and sear in very high direct heat for 30 sec.
* INGREDIENTS * I used this amazing steak.
2 16oz skirt steaks
Salt, Pepper and Garlic to taste.
Marinate for overnight
1 Orange, 1 lime and 1 white onion.
Salsa Verde (aka Guga's Salsita)
1 tbsp White Onions
1 tbsp Red Wine Vinegar
1/4 cup Parsley
1/2 tsp Minced Garlic
1/2 Chilly Flakes
1/2 salt
1/2 pepper
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 lime
Basting Sauce
1/4 cup Low sodium Soy Sauce
1/2 Lime Juice

Hemp for Victory 1942 - US War Effort Primary Source Film
The film was made to encourage farmers to grow hemp for the war effort because other industrial fibers, often imported from overseas, were in short supply. The film shows a history of hemp and hemp products, how hemp is grown, and how hemp is processed into rope, cloth, cordage and other products.
Before 1989, the film was relatively unknown. The United States government denied ever having made such a film.[2] The United States Department of Agriculture[3] library and the Library of Congress told all interested parties that no such movie was made by the USDA or any branch of the U.S. government. Two VHS copies were recovered and donated to the Library of Congress on 19 May 1989 by Maria Farrow, Carl Packard, and Jack Herer.
The only known copy in 1976 was a 3/4 broadcast quality copy of the film that was originally obtained by William Conde in 1976 from a reporter for the Miami Herald and the Ethiopian Zion Coptic Church of Jamaica. It was given in trust that it would be made available to as many as possible. It was put into the hands of Jack Herer by William Conde during the 1984 Oregon Marijuana Initiative. The film is now available in numerous locations on the Internet.
The 1990 case that the film Hemp For Victory was delivered in.
In July 1989, Jack Herer together with Chris Wright, of the Grassroots Party, attempted to obtain a copy from the National Archives where it was listed, but the curators were unable to locate the film. Subsequently, in May 1990, the founder of The Institute for Hemp, John Birrenbach, recovered a copy of the film from the National Archives. [4] The film was a two part film the first section being 6:46 the second being 7:16 long. Together the approx 15 minute film detailed the cultivation of cannabis for fiber. This was the first recovery of the film from a government source. This film can now be downloaded from the National Archives.[5]
Hemp for Victory was produced by the US Department of Agriculture and contained scenes from the 1926 silent film Old Ironsides, it is public domain and is freely available for download from the Internet Archive.
The film, as well as clips shown, was referenced to in an episode of 10 Things You Don't Know About on marijuana and its history.

The War of 1812 was a conflict fought between the United States, the United Kingdom, and their respective allies from June 1812 to February 1815. Historians in Britain often see it as a minor theater of the Napoleonic Wars; in the United States and Canada, it is seen as a war in its own right.
From the outbreak of war with Napoleonic France, Britain had enforced a naval blockade to choke off neutral trade to France, which the US contested as illegal under international law. To man the blockade, Britain impressed American merchant sailors into the Royal Navy. Incidents such as the Chesapeake–Leopard affair inflamed anti-British sentiment in the US. In 1811, the British were in turn outraged by the Little Belt affair, in which 11 British sailors died. Britain supplied Indians who raided American settlers on the frontier, hindering American expansion and provoking resentment. Historians debate whether the desire to annex some or all of British North America (Canada) contributed to the American decision to go to war. On June 18, 1812, US President James Madison, after heavy pressure from the War Hawks in Congress, signed the American declaration of war into law.With most of its army in Europe fighting Napoleon, Britain adopted a defensive strategy. American prosecution of the war effort suffered from its unpopularity, especially in New England, where it was derogatorily referred to as Mr. Madison's War. American defeats at the Siege of Detroit and the Battle of Queenston Heights thwarted attempts to seize Upper Canada, improving British morale. American attempts to invade Lower Canada and capture Montreal also failed. In 1813, the Americans won the Battle of Lake Erie, gaining control of the lake, and at the Battle of the Thames defeated Tecumseh's Confederacy, securing a primary war goal. A final American attempt to invade Canada was fought to a draw at the Battle of Lundy's Lane during the summer of 1814. At sea, the powerful Royal Navy blockaded American ports, cutting off trade and allowing the British to raid the coast at will. In 1814, one of these raids burned the capital, Washington, although the Americans later repulsed British attempts to invade New England and capture Baltimore.
In Britain, there was mounting opposition to wartime taxation and demands to reopen trade with America. With the abdication of Napoleon, the blockade of France ended and Britain ceased impressment, rendering the issue of the impressment of American sailors moot. The British were then able to increase the strength of the blockade on the United States coast, annihilating American maritime trade and bringing the US government near to bankruptcy. Neither side wanted to continue fighting. Peace negotiations began in August 1814, and the Treaty of Ghent was signed on December 24. News of the peace did not reach America for some time. Unaware of the treaty, British forces invaded Louisiana and were defeated at the Battle of New Orleans in January 1815. These late victories were viewed by Americans as having restored national honour, leading to the collapse of anti-war sentiment and the beginning of the Era of Good Feelings, a period of national unity. News of the treaty arrived shortly thereafter, halting military operations. The treaty was unanimously ratified by the US Senate on February 17, 1815, ending the war with no boundary changes.

GeoffMousseau: Hi, this is Geoff Mousseau with White Collar Vice. We’re here today with Justin Paperny. The reason we’re here today is because this is a significant day for Justin. It was eight years ago, today, that Justin began his prison sentence. So, we’re going to talk today about that first day, and what it’s like and what can you expect. Now, Justin, tell us did you self-surrender?

Justin Paperny: I did, I self-surrendered. My mom and brother drove me up I 5 into Bakersfield. I lived in Los Angeles and I self-surrendered to TAFT federal prison camp the 20th of April in 2008. I was due to get there. My letter said get there at 2 o’clock; I got there several hours earlier around 10 or 11 o’clock and my journey begin, or continue I should say.

Geoff Mousseau: So, did you have a last meal on your way up?
Justin Paperny: I did. I surrendered fat, bloated and miserable and angry, and we stopped at this, Carl's Jr. is sort of my last meal. And I have this bacon double cheeseburger, and I was sick and coffee and I just didn’t feel great. So, yes.

Geoff Mousseau:: Well, what did you do to prepare? I didn't do much, as I've written about I was in denial a bit, and really unwilling to embrace the reality of the situation of it and really unwilling to embrace the reality of the situation that I was going to jail. And, I had eight weeks to surrender and prior to that I was just so fixated on how I felt my life was coming apart; I shouldn't have been prosecuted; I should have been handled civilly not criminally. So, I purposely didn't prepare knowing that would make matters worse. It would have been just too much work to sit down at a computer, to read, to prepare, to study, whatever. So, I went in blind someone in my family made one call to the prison to find out what I could surrender with, said that I could come with shoes and a watch, so of course I went out and I bought the most expensive running watch and running shoes thinking that I could surrender with them, but very little preparations.

Geoff Mousseau: Did you surrender directly to the camp itself?
Justin Paperny: Good question. I surrendered to the low security prison which is adjacent to the camp. So, to go to TAFT, you go this long dusty road and then you drive into the, you see this big sign, you know TAFT correctional complex and you go down this dirt road and you see the barbed wire, the razor coil, and a huge tract, and I was thinking like wow, this is where I’m actually going to live. And I didn’t even know, because I was so unprepared that eventually I’d be moved over to the satellite camp, but I surrendered and checked in and processed at the low security prison.
