Boston Travel Tips: 10 Things to Know Before You Go
Everything YOU need to know before you travel to Boston Massachusetts in the USA. Boston is the hub of New England, in the Northeast of the United States. Visiting Boston is like a history class in person. Boston is the cradle of much of the US’s history including playing a significant role in the American Revolution, having the first public library in the US, and the first lighthouse. Boston is a city of Neighborhoods, with 23 distinct neighborhoods. Boston has lots of Parks -- public green space is 17 percent of the city. You are never more than a half mile from a park. Boston is very compact.. Downtown Boston is roughly 2 square miles. About 13% of Boston citizens commute by foot, giving it the highest percentage of pedestrian commuters in major cities of the United States.

You’ll likely be flying in to Boston Logan International Airport, which is just a short 3 miles away from Boston. 40 airlines that serve Boston, and 3 hotels onsite

Biggest Holidays are St Patrick’s Day and the Boston Marathon
Re-enactment of the Boston Tea Party every year on DECEMBER 16

English.. But the Boston accent is pretty thick, and there’s some interesting local slang
Not everyone has the Boston Accent… but you’ll definitely hear it
8 - Wicked Wifi
I mentioned Wifi means good… Wicked Wifi is the cities metropolitan wifi network. The SSID is “WickedFreeWifi”
9 - Hotels
Boston is old, and so are the hotels and AirBNBs. If you are expecting an elevator and A/C, call to check in advance.

More than 20 colleges in Boston alone… and Harvard, and MIT which are technically not in Boston, but in Cambridge across the river.
140,000 college students call Boston home.
Makes for lots of cheap eats, and nightlife options.

Starbucks Shipping Container Drive-thru and Walk up Stores in the United States 2018
Starbucks is the largest coffee shop chain in the world famous for the best teas and coffee.
Watch this video here :
Shipping container buildings have become more prominent in recent years. For Starbucks, this is not just a fad.
Starbucks uses shipping containers to deliver their coffee, tea and other materials all across the world.
With no exports to ship back to the producing countries, Starbucks long-term desire was to help reduce their waste-stream throughout their supply chain.
Reusing some of their shipping containers was one great way of realizing this dream by creating modern modular drive-thru stores made from shipping containers; popularly know as The Reclamation Drive-Thru concept.
Green building is part of its global commitment to reducing their overall environmental footprint, moving towards a greener and more sustainable business.
This video brings to you the best of Starbucks reclamation drive-thru and walk-up stores made from shipping containers in the United States.

STREET ART and BBQ in DEEP ELLUM | Dallas, Texas
DAY TWO in Dallas we woke up at the incredible Westin Galleria and decided to take the full day to explore Deep Ellum and a few more sights in Downtown Dallas.
Deep Ellum is a old warehouse district that is now being revitalized with restaurants, shops, breweries and street art. It’s right next door to Downtown Dallas. We first explore Deep Ellum and we ate at Pecan Lodge the best place to eat BBQ in Deep Ellum. It’s fantastic!
Up next we visited Dallas Museum of Art and roamed around the four floor building. My favorite part of the museum was the Asian/ African 3rd floor. After that we headed next door to Klyde Warren Park where there were food trucks and beautiful views!
For dinner we ate at the Oceanaire at the lobby of the Westin Galleria Hotel. We ate a lot of delicious seafood, from oysters, to lobster and so much more!

Pushing the Boundaries of Wine in America...
In what turned out to be the perfect match of small production wines meeting a one-of-a-kind wine shop, The Wine Bottega in Boston's North End hosted a tasting of wine from the Louis/Dressner portfolio.
Louis/Dressner is an importer with a portfolio of over 60 vignerons in France, Italy and Portugal. The company carries no individual brands. Instead, its principals work with a group of highly passionate growers to produce wines that are hand crafted and original.
Louis/Dressner is pushing the boundary of what's available for wine in the United States, said Kerri Pratt, the owner of the Wine Bottega. They're really focusing on the small production, interesting, off-the-beaten path, regions and grapes that you've never heard of which, to us, makes it really exciting.
After having spent several years in the wine business both in the United States and abroad, Pratt purchased The Wine Bottega in October 2008 and dedicated her shop to be one for discovering and sharing small production, hand-crafted wines from around the globe.
We said, 'Let's go all the way [with unique wines]', Pratt said. Everything should have a story behind it. We want to know who the winemaker is, and we want to be able to share that with people.
However, Pratt noted that there was some difficulty in trying to sell a unique selection of wines to a public inundated with advertising for brand names.
It's tricky because if you have the unique things, and you also have the 'safe' things, a lot of people are just going to come in and gravitate toward the 'safe' wines. But we're very much here to answer any questions and help people find something - that dialogue is very important, Pratt said.
In this segment, we take part in the tasting event and in speak with Pratt and Matteo Mollo, also of The Wine Bottega, as well as Lee Cambpell of Louis/Dressner and learn quite a bit about the how the unique variety in both the shop and portfolio have made strides in the way we think about and purchase our wines.

Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard ─ Build, Don't Bomb: A New American Foreign Policy
As a veteran, Congresswoman Gabbard’s experience has profoundly shaped her as a person and her approach to American foreign policy. She will discuss the need for a military that is ready and capable of protecting our nation’s security, but should not be supporting counterproductive, interventionist wars that cost countless lives and trillions of American taxpayer dollars. Congresswoman Gabbard will discuss how these savings can be used to reinvest in our country’s future.
Congresswoman Gabbard will be joined by Watson Senior Fellow Stephen Kinzer for further discussion. A Q&A session will follow.
Tulsi Gabbard was elected to the Hawaii State Legislature in 2002 when she was just 21 years old, becoming the youngest person ever elected in the state. A year later, she joined the Hawai‘i Army National Guard.
Tulsi served two tours of duty in the Middle East, and she continues her service as a Major in the Army National Guard. Tulsi’s 2005 deployment was a 12-month tour at Logistical Support Area Anaconda in Iraq, where she served in a field medical unit as a specialist with a 29th Support Battalion medical company. She was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal at the end of this tour.
In between her two tours, Tulsi served in the U.S. Senate as a legislative aide to Senator Daniel Akaka (D-HI), and graduated from the Accelerated Officer Candidate School at the Alabama Military Academy, where she was the first woman to finish as the distinguished honor graduate in the Academy's 50-year history. Tulsi was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant and continued to work for Senator Akaka until 2009, when she again voluntarily deployed with her unit to the Middle East.
In 2010, Tulsi was elected to the Honolulu City Council. Tulsi was elected in 2012 to the United States House of Representatives, serving Hawaii’s 2nd District. She is one of the first two female combat veterans to ever serve in the U.S. Congress, and also its first Hindu member.
Now in her fourth term in Congress, Tulsi serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Financial Services Committee.
Stephen Kinzer is an award-winning foreign correspondent who has covered more than 50 countries on five continents. His articles and books have led the Washington Post to place him among the best in popular foreign policy storytelling.
Kinzer spent more than 20 years working for the New York Times, most of it as a foreign correspondent. His foreign postings placed him at the center of historic events and, at times, in the line of fire.
After leaving the Times in 2005, Kinzer taught journalism, political science, and international relations at Northwestern University and Boston University. He is now a Senior Fellow at the Watson Institute for International and Public Affairs at Brown University, and writes a world affairs column for The Boston Globe.
