Fly Fishing The Piedra River, CO
Pagosa Springs, CO. Fly fishing the Piedra River for rainbow and brown trout. The Piedra River is located between Durango and Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The Piedra is a famous Wilderness and National Forest fishery. Nymph fishing is one of the more productive methods of pulling out Piedra trout.
Piedra River Apr. 2014 1204CFS (Full)
Run this stretch while you have a chance! No dams control these flows so there is a limited window on the time to boat this. A jaw dropping class III paddle in with great views then comes the class IV rapids in the lower canyon. A must do for secluded canyon boating.

CDT Thru Hike 2018 Ep 10 - Pagosa Springs to Lake City - San Juans Traverse
San Juans Traverse - In this episode of my Continental Divide Trail Thru Hike Documentary, I hike from Pagosa Springs to Lake City. It's a 5.5 day, 125 mile hike through the San Juan mountains. The route passes through the Weminuche Wilderness, Colorado's largest. This section of trail averages over 12,000' in elevation, making it the highest on the entire CDT. This area boasts some of the longest continuous above treeline hiking in the US, and offers some of the best hiking along the CDT (my top 5). The forest fire smoke from the 416 fire in Durango obscured views in the late afternoon, but made up for it with some of the most consistently beautiful sunsets of my entire journey.

Camping Trip - Weminuche Wilderness, San Juan Mtns, SW Colorado
A vid/slideshow of memories and sum glowsticking (at 4:48) from this amazing place buried deep in the mountains of Colorado.
One of my most favorite and most camped places in Colorado is the Williams Creek Reservoir area at the gateway to the Weminuche Wilderness in the San Juan Mtns of south-western Colorado, north of Pagosa Springs. Its a 4.5 hour drive from where i live in the denver metro area, but the seclusion and intense serenity of the Weminuche wilderness is worth much much more than that. Over my two trips there this summer, ive compiled enough photos/footage to create a slideshow/vid that can at least briefly show the majesty of the place and the moments created between you and the people you go with =] I hope you enjoy.

Pagosa Springs 2015-2016 GoPro video.
My brother bought me a GoPro for Christmas. So, I made a video of my 2015-2016 New Years trip to Pagosa Springs, Colorado. The editing and filming is amateur but I had a lot of fun doing it. Enjoy!

US 160 Wolf Creek Pass
Travel with us eastbound over Wolf Creek Pass, located on US Highway 160 between the mountain communities of Pagosa Springs (to the west) and South Fork (to the east).
This video was captured on April 11, 2019 after a light snowstorm caused snow-packed and icy conditions on the pass. High country motorists should be aware that even light springtime snows can impact travel. When winter driving restrictions are implemented, be prepared to chain-up, like the big-rig drivers in the video. Or make sure your vehicle is equipped with snow tires or 4-wheel drive.
