Croatia: Adriatic Delights
Rick Steves' Europe Travel Guide | A fascinating land with a hard-fought history in a complex corner of Europe, Croatia is emerging as one of Europe's top destinations. Sampling the very best of Croatia, we start by exploring the fabled Dalmatian Coast from dramatic Dubrovnik to crusty Adriatic island ports. Heading inland, we hike through Plitvice Lakes National Park and enjoy the thriving capital city Zagreb. Our Croatian finale: the Istrian Peninsula and its enchanting port town of Rovinj.

ZAGREB, Croatia - a 2 Minute Tour
Today we're hanging out in Zagreb, Croatia. Zagreb is the capital of Croatia and is an absolutely beautiful city. This is a quick 2 minute tour of what this city has to offer.
Our schedule for the next couple of weeks:
------------------
SUBSCRIBE! -
------------------
The city of Zagreb is divided into three sections:
The old Gornji grad (Upper Town) containing the presidential place, the iconic Saint Mark’s church, the Croaction parliament, and museums and galleries adorned by cobbled streets lit by gas lamps.
The 19th century Donji grad (Lower Town) with shops, restaurants, cafes, theatres and parks.
The Novi Zagreb (new Zagreb) full of high rise buildings and not too much to offer to visitors.
Interesting Zagreb:
Zagreb is called a city of museums as there are more of them per square foot than any other city in the world
Saturday mornings are not for sleeping in. They're for getting glam and strutting yourself at the markets and getting a coffee downtown. And everyone does it at the exact same time, between 10:00 and 14:00, just on a couple of streets in the city centre. It's the hub of Zagreb culture. Forget Friday night – Saturday morning is the time to dress it up, grab your shades, and hit the catwalk of Croatia.
The city is full of reptiles and medieval statues of snakes and dragons abound. Visitors can take walking tours which give the Brothers Grimm a run for their money - rumour has it a cursed snake queen is buried deep down in the tunnels of Zagreb's medieval mountain fortress, Medvedgrad.
The city hosts a truly unique Museum of Broken Relationships, devoted to mementos from relationships of all kinds. It's quirky, it's personal, nostalgic, and somewhat melancholy - but it's one of the hottest attractions in Zagreb.
Croatia has a thing about cats. The cute creatures are everywhere, dozing in sunbeams and begging for scraps from cooing tourists. Gorščica is no exception. But instead of a busy restaurant, this mountain house retreat offers a place to cuddle with cats in peace and quiet.
The city centre has free wifi, along with many other streets, hotels and cafes throughout the city. In fact, there's a whole Facebook page offering the passwords for free wifi in the city. So in Zagreb you'll never be lost – and you'll never be without Instagram.

CRAZY DUBROVNIK STORIES | Old City Walking Tour | Sail Croatia Day 3 of 8
Dubrovnik has some crazy history so today we made our way from the port and took a walking tour of the old city. Sail Croatia... ⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇
A walking tour of Dubrovnik seemed like the best way to learn about the old town, the city history, the walls and castle development and just how the old town came to be. We weren't wrong. Beyond the Game of Thrones fame, Dubrovnik has an incredible past.
History ranging from attacks, bombs, fires and more have shaped the city of Dubrovnik to where it is today. This tour was only an hour long and gave us so much insight into Croatia as a whole, while also providing a great tour of the Dubrovnik town inside the walls as well.
This is day 3 of our Sail Croatia Explorer Cruise and we LOVE IT! We were docked in the Dubrovnik Port, well actually it's Port Gruz, and made our way in to the city for one of the optional excursions provided by Sail Croatia.
Sail Croatia is known for it's Navigator cruise, it's more tailored towards the party vibe and younger crowds. We were so pleased to hear they also offer multiple other cruises and the Explorer cruise was right up our alley! Check out the Sail Croatia Explorer Cruise here:

Exploring Zagreb, Croatia! Food, Markets & Attractions | Travel Vlog Day 2,3
Today I went to explore the old city of Zagreb Croatia. It was 10 minutes walk from Hostel Temza to the Central square. Saw Ban Josip Jelačić statue, Zagreb cathedral and walked to Dolac Market. Then, I went to St Mark's church which is a top tourist attraction. After that, I went to a restaurant called Purgur which was recommended by the hostel to try local cuisine. I ordered beef stew and a beer which cost total of $18 USD. For dinner, I got some cooked food from the supermarket. #croatia #travel #travelvlog #vlog #explore #vacation #adventure #zagreb #video #food #market #city #attractions #time #fun #top #trending #popular #dream #want #discover #follow #tourist #tour #document #beautiful #wow #amazing

550,000 PEOPLE CELEBRATED HERE! | Zagreb Square & Cathedral | Croatia Travel Vlog
Croatia came 2nd in the football world cup and 550k people celebrated in Ban Jelačić square, Zagreb! Before the cathedral...⬇ Click 'Show More' ⬇ Learn to travel full-time:
While Zagreb was home to the football ceremony, and Ban Jelacic square was the end place, it does sound like it was 550,000 people in total came out for the drive from the airport... so sure, not all those people were crammed in here around the square but cool nonetheless.
Just up from the Ban Jelacic square is the Zagreb cathedral, which is the tallest building in Croatia. Inside the church is stunning, as you would expect, but I didnt want to film too much for this travel vlog. Partly because it feels a bit sacred, partly because people are in there having private time and praying. Regardless, if you visit Ban Jelacic square it's worth popping up and seeing the cathedral as well!
It's a shame we werent a few weeks earlier to be around Croatia during the World Cup, but to be in the square and imagine the ceremony was cool either way.

Balkan Cities To Visit : Dubrovnik, Kotor, Zagreb...
Balkans is the historical and geographical region of Southeast Europe, and it is often referred to as the peninsula of South Eastern Europe, and is located between the Adriatic and the Black Sea.
Given the fact that many world travellers and bloggers know say that the Balkans among the most desirable and most beautiful places to visit, below we highlight several high-ranking destination.
1 Tirana, Albania
The main and also the largest city of Albania. It is located in the centre of the country and occupies an area of 42 square kilometres where there are about 760 000 inhabitants.
Albania is becoming more and more interesting tourist destination for many visitors from all over the world because it offers a variety of attractions such as Ethembegov's Mosque, Enver Hodza's pyramid , Statua Skender and a large number of cafes and restaurants for the elderly, but also many developed night clubs for young tourists.
2 Dubrovnik, Croatia
One of the most popular tourist destinations in the Mediterranean which justifies the name 'Pearl of the Adriatic'. Every stone in Dubrovnik exudes lots of historical stories told in a modern way. Magnificent walls, narrow stone streets where every step of its heritage sites, cultural events and excellent cuisine give a special charm to this city museum. Be sure to visit the hill Srd, the walls of the Old City, Revelin, the main and most famous street Stradun, then the Big Onofrio fountain, but also the most popular beaches Banje, Buza and Šunj on the island Lokrum.
3 Meteor, Greece
Meteor is a group of Orthodox monastery near the Greek city of Kalambaka in western Thessaly. It is exceptionally known for its unusual situation on the rocks- pillars thereby considered the most valuable collection of monasteries in Greece after Mount Athos. Their literal meaning would be suspended / hung stones, i.e., rocks that float in paradise and today are among the cultural heritage of UNESCO.
4 Nis, Serbia
The largest city in south-eastern Serbia and the seat of the Nis District. It is an administrative, military and trade centre of various states and empires that he belonged to during its long history. Important tourist destinations of this city would be 'Niska Banja', city park Cair, Kamenicki Park, Sicevac Gorge, Oblacinsko lake, Nis Fortress, Cele Tower, etc.
5 Kotor, Montenegro
Pearl Bay of Kotor is in the first place that should be visited cities in Montenegro. Kotor has been described as dramatically beautiful city' located between the sinister mountains and the Azure Sea bay. Kotor doesn't have big beaches, big waves, but it has small private beaches along the coast (including Goodness and two small beaches) that are free to sunbathe to your heart will.
The sea is clear, calm and warm, people are hospitable and there are bars, shops, bakeries and restaurants at any corner.
However, what you shouldn't miss visiting is the Old Town of Kotor- authentic and preserved that it seems like you went through a time gate. Also don’t forget the narrow passing, churches, fountains, bell towers and villas that will leave you breathless.
6 Plitvice Lakes, Croatia
The most famous Croatian national park is a unique natural object with specific phenomena of karst hydrography with rich flora and fauna that makes it provide invaluable scientific value. The great variety of natural shapes have led to the Plitvice Lakes National Park inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage List in 1979.
7 Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina
The capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the political, administrative, economic, health, sports, scientific and university centre of the country. Best places to visit in this city are the most famous street Bascarsija, Mount Bjelasnica, Mount Igman, the Tunnel of Hope, Markale market, Museum of Alija Izetbegovic, the Kosevo Stadium, City Hall and many others.
8 Zagreb, Croatia
