St Vincents Hospital Ghost Hunt
St. Vincent's Hospital was founded by the Sisters of Charity. It was opened in 1858 as a sanitarium for mental illness.
The Hospital is located in Normandy, Missouri. By the 1940's the Daughters of Charity of St. Vincent de Paul were maintaining its operations. In recent years the first four floors were converted to apartments, while the 5th and 6th floors have remained closed off. We received permission to investigate this site, particularly the 5th and 6th floors, along with the north and south basements. The stories surrounding the building involve the little boy from the 1949 exorcist case. He also stayed at a private residence across the street from St. Louis University, and at the Alexian Brothers Hospital, but he also received treatment at this facility, where his room was located on the 5th floor.
Fire, Pestilence, and Death: St. Louis, 1849 (Thus. Night Speaker Series)
In 1849, St. Louis was little more than a frontier town straining under the pressure of rapid population growth and poor infrastructure, often trapped within the confines of ignorance and prejudice. A cholera epidemic and the Great Fire that year were both a consequence of those problems and—despite the devastation they brought—a chance for the city to evolve. In his book, Fire, Pestilence, and Death: St. Louis 1849, author Christopher Alan Gordon offers a detailed study of these calamities. Drawing upon the archives of the Missouri Historical Society, including newspaper accounts, city and county records, letters, diaries and contemporary publications, Gordon reveals the story of 1849 St. Louis as it was experienced by people who lived through that incredible year. Join us as Gordon not only provides an in-depth look at the city during one of the most turbulent years in its history, but also a glimpse into the struggles of a growing nation and the determination of its people.

True stories - The Lemp Mansion Curse
In 1901, a devastating loss took place in the Lemp mansion of Benton Park, Missouri. It shook the family to their core and spelled disaster for the family fortune. Little did the Lemps know, this death was only the first in what was to become a long line of suicides and gruesome misfortunes.
Once one of the wealthiest and most powerful families in the St. Louis area, the Lemps' fate quickly took a turn for the worse after building and moving into their new, luxurious home. Who exactly was this family, and what happened to them to make their ghosts stick around in the lavish family mansion?
In 1836, Johann “Adam” Lemp immigrated to the United States, leaving behind his native Germany. He soon started brewing beer from his basement. Adam Lemp was one of the first in the U.S. to brew German lagers rather than English ales, and the new style caused a sensation. Soon enough, he was growing an empire. Adam created the Falstaff beer brand – a name he thought would go down in history. It did, but not for the reasons Adam Lemp anticipated.

Legends of The Hill St. Louis - Pt. 1: Roland Degregorio
- In Part 1, Roland Degregorio is featured here as a Legend of the Italian area of St. Louis known as The Hill on my TV Show, Casa E Cucina. He was a mailman, a waiter at an Italian restaurant and was involved in the community and was a Veteran of WW2. He gave tours in on The Hill in St. Louis for years. Now his son Joe Digregorio has the tours and does a great job.
Roland was deeply devoted to his family, community, country and Italian heritage. A proud member of the United States Marine Corps, he served his country with distinction in the South Pacific in World War II, and earned a Purple Heart for his valor on Iwo Jima. He later served as Commander of Rollo-Calcaterra American Legion Post #15 and an officer of the Marine Corp League and other veteran organizations, and also lectured extensively on his war experiences. An Ambassador to the Hill, Roland touched the lives of many as a 28-year mailman on his beloved Hill, long-time singing waiter at several Italian restaurants, and in retirement, where he gave cultural and historical tours of the Hill to thousands. He served as a beloved soccer coach, usher, Crusader, Holy Name Society member and parishioner at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. Roland brought a smile and a story to everyone he met, including the wonderful employees and volunteers at Bethesda Meadow, who treated him with great care.
