Downtown Miami and Brickell at night while cruising along Biscayne Bay
Take a relaxing cruise on Biscayne Bay from Virginia Key (by Key Biscayne) to Bayside Marketplace in Miami, Florida aboard the Musette. We'll pass Brickell, Brickell Key, Downtown Miami, and Bayfront Park along the way. See the dancing girl light show on the Intercontinental Hotel as well!
This was shot on my return trip from the 2018 Miami International Boat Show. Instead of parking at the event itself on Virginia Key, consider parking at the Bayside Marketplace Parking Garage and taking the complimentary water taxi service to the show and back. What better way to get into the spirit of a Boat Show than starting it as well as ending it with a boat ride?! Besides, the city skyline is truly breathtaking from the ride!

Boating in Miami, Florida : Stiltsville, Nixon Sandbar, Key Biscayne
In this week's video we join our friends Raul and Dany for a whole day of fun in the water, cruising in Miami, South Florida aboard their power boat.

Our first point of interest is Stiltsville, nowadays a ghost town on the water. It began early in the 20th century as a gambling and bootlegging operation, as it was legal one mile offshore. From the 60's until the late 80's it was very much a party scene. There was even a place called Bikini Club where ladies wearing a bikini would get free drinks. In 1992, Hurricane Andrew was the last nail on the coffin of what was a town on stilts. Only seven structures remain, most of them in ruins.
Next we go to the famous Nixon Beach Sandbar for a swim. It is located right by the entrance of Hurricane Harbor. This area is home to many lavish waterfront mansions. Nixon Beach Sandbar is notorious for the numerous boat parties that happen here. People tie their boats together, and the flow of booze and loud music go on throughout the day. When we went, May 20, it wasn't so crowded. Perhaps because the water had not reached that magical 90ºF mark. After our swim and some drone flying we cruised around the harbor to see the homes of the rich and famous, and their boats up close and personal.
After all this we have worked up an appetite, so we navigate east, towards Cape Florida State Park and the creatively named No Name Harbor. After a pitcher of sangria, some minuscule conch fritters, and a delicious seafood paella, we decide to call it a day, sailing into the sunset, back to the marina.

Sailing on Skydeck Miami
It is always fun to do a project for Miamism.com. Rather than accepting the status quo, Ines of Miamism.com is always ready to take a project to the next creative level. And the locations she provides are always stunning!
In this case, the location is Skydeck. A great rooftop venue in the middle of South Beach with some of the best views around. It is meant mimic the top deck of a luxury yacht, which was great inspiration for the film.

Mandalay Ship Wreck Key Biscayne
This video was taken while snorkeling on the Mandalay Wreck off Key Biscayne. This wreck is located east of elliot key in the shallow waters off Long Reef. It was a 110' metal schooner built in the early 1900's and was at the time a beautiful ship. It cost nearlly $175,000 to build at the time. outfitted with Teak decks and Ivory and brass. Its last voyage was on a trip back from the Bahamas during new years eve. It ran aground around 1am on Jan 1, 1966. all crew members survived but the ship was never able to be salvaged. it still lies on the shallow waters nearly half a centuary later.

1000 Sailboats in Miami, Summer 2019, Part 1
Dinner Key is a marina complex in the Coconut Grove neighborhood of Miami, Florida, along the shore of Biscayne Bay on South Bayshore Drive. It was originally an island, but was connected to the mainland in 1914 by filling in the intervening space. An early source attributes the name to the fact that the island was a convenient place to stop to eat while traveling by boat between the mouth of the Miami River and Snapper Creek south of Miami.[1] Dinner Key is accessible by public transit via the Coconut Grove Circulator from the Miami Metrorail at Coconut Grove and Douglas Road stations. Formerly, it has been the location of Coast Guard Air Station Dinner Key and International Pan American Airport (whose terminal building is now Miami City Hall). Miami Beach, Florida - Disney Magic Sails from PortMiami (2019)
Disney Magic is a cruise ship owned and operated by the Disney Cruise Line, a subsidiary of The Walt Disney Company. She has 11 public decks, can accommodate 2,700 passengers in 875 staterooms, and has a crew of approximately 950. The interior of Disney Magic is decorated in the Art Deco style, in contrast to her sister ship, Disney Wonder, which is decorated in the Art Nouveau style.
The ship has twenty bright yellow lifeboats which, along with the black, red, and white colors of the ship itself, match the colors of Mickey Mouse. This change from the standard safety orange took a waiver of international maritime rules. As with other Disney cruise ships, the ship's horn blast plays an excerpt from Disney's famous flagship tune, When You Wish upon a Star. Disney Magic's Godmother is Patricia Disney, former wife of Walt Disney's nephew, Roy E. Disney.
Miami Beach is a coastal resort city in Miami-Dade County, Florida, United States. It was incorporated on March 26, 1915. The municipality is located on natural and man-made barrier islands between the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay, the latter of which separates the Beach from Miami. The neighborhood of South Beach, comprising the southernmost 2.5 square miles (6.5 km2) of Miami Beach, along with downtown Miami and the Port of Miami, collectively form the commercial center of South Florida. Miami Beach's estimated population is 92,307 according to the most recent United States census estimates. Miami Beach is the 26th largest city in Florida based on official 2017 estimates from the US Census Bureau. It has been one of America's pre-eminent beach resorts since the early 20th century.
In 1979, Miami Beach's Art Deco Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Art Deco District is the largest collection of Art Deco architecture in the world and comprises hundreds of hotels, apartments and other structures erected between 1923 and 1943. Mediterranean, Streamline Moderne and Art Deco are all represented in the District. The Historic District is bounded by the Atlantic Ocean on the East, Lenox Court on the West, 6th Street on the South and Dade Boulevard along the Collins Canal to the North. The movement to preserve the Art Deco District's architectural heritage was led by former interior designer Barbara Baer Capitman, who now has a street in the District named in her honor.

We visit Boaters Grill for breakfast, then watch as the new owner of a Leopard 45 catamaran get hoisted up the mast. Interviews with other cruisers in the anchorage reveal that many are planning to make a passage to the Bahamas. We interview Wally Moran, buy his book and he autographs it for us.
