Mystery Object Spotted Over Whidbey Island, Washington State. June 10, 2018
On Sunday, June 10, a weather camera in Washington State snapped footage of what looked like a missile streaking across the sky.
According to SkunkBay Weather, a weather monitor in Washington State on its official Facebook page: “My night camera picked up what clearly looks like a very large missile launch from Whidbey Island.”
Professor Cliff Mass, an atmospheric sciences faculty member at the University of Washington, said the object did indeed look like a missile.
He continued: “It really looks like an ascending missile. I would be interested if someone had some insights into this sighting.
“This feature does not look like a meteor, nor are there any meteor reports for the area that I could find online.
“The lightning networks did not show a strike in that area.
“I have never heard of rocket launches from Whidbey Island Air station in Oak Harbor.
“And checking online, I can not find any discussion of this feature.”
However, military officials have denied that they had anything to do with a suspected rocket launch.
A spokesman for the Naval Air Station Whidbey Island told Military.com: “There's a lot speculation around here but it's definitely not a missile launch.”
The spokesman added that the NAS Whidbey Island does not have any missile launching capabilities.
But Dr Grant Allen at Manchester University's Centre for Atmospheric Science believes he may cracked the mystery.
“There are a few things I can tell from the photo – the light streak appears to pass between two cloud decks – a low-level and a mid-to-higher-level deck – you can see this as the streak appears and disappears behind the low level cloud deck but always appears in the foreground of the higher cloud deck.
“This is not consistent with a vertically ascending missile as such an ascent might be expected to penetrate both cloud decks (very quickly).
“This must be a long exposure photograph/capture as you see a light streak (not an object) and some smearing out of the clouds too.
“To my mind, this is just a brightly lit conventional aircraft of helicopter moving overhead at an altitude above the height of the lower cloud deck but below that of the higher cloud deck.

What Would a Journey to the Earth’s Core Be Like?
What’s the most exotic destination you’ve been to? Hawaii? Australia, Hoboken, New Jersey? Well, today I’m setting off on a journey that’s way more unusual than that – down to the Earth’s core. And I’m inviting you to join me. It’ll be fun! The center of the Earth lies about 4,000 miles below its surface, so it’s gonna be a looong trip.
???? By the way, guys, be attentive! To make the journey even more fascinating, I've hidden something interesting in this video. Okay, I'll give you a hint - it's movie references! You definitely saw them because each of those films is iconic. Try to find them all and let everyone know you have a sharp eye in the comments! If you're a video game fan, there's a reference for you too. But this one is really difficult.
???? And, of course, there is a cat hidden in this video. Can you spot it? C'mon, prove you're much more attentive than most people! Do you accept the challenge? ????

SUMMARY:
- The crust isn't really that thick. It’s roughly 21 miles thick and is made up of basaltic rocks that are under the sea, and granitic rocks that make up the continents.
- Nile Crocodiles dig the deepest burrows among all animals, so you can find them at 39 feet under ground.
- There are whole underground cities with shelters and catacombs in different countries. The deepest of them lies at 278 feet under Cappadocia in Turkey.
- Continental crust is about 2 billion years old and it covers about 40 percent of the Earth (yeah, the rest is oceanic crust).
- In 2004, a half-marathon was organized in the Bochnia Salt Mine in Poland. It was the deepest half-marathon ever – you don’t often see people running at a depth of 695 feet after all.
- The Earth’s crust serves as an electric blanket that covers the mantle. It’s rich in the radioactive elements uranium, thorium, and potassium, which produce heat!
- The oceanic crust is never too far, and its average depth is 4.3 miles. It covers around 60 percent of the surface of our planet, and is thinner, denser and younger than the continental crust.
- The pressure is getting more and more extreme, and it’s getting colder and colder down here. This is the deepest point where earthquakes are born – the ones that come from here are rare, and get pretty weak by the time they’ve traveled 435 miles up to the surface.
- At 1,814 miles deep, the mantle ends and the outer core begins. It’s a sunless sea of super hot liquid metal that’s about the size of Mars.
- Once every several thousand years, something happens in this layer: the magnetic poles reverse, and north and south change places.
- At 2,750 miles, the inner core welcomes you! It’s the hottest, innermost part of the planet.
- The inner core is nearly the size of the Moon, and makes up 2 per cent of the Earth’s mass.
- Not so long ago, British scientists found out that the inner core is relatively young – probably somewhere between 500 and 1,000 million years old, and that’s nothing in terms of Earth science.
- Now, for those of you who are thinking of packing your bags to go see the Earth’s core, I have some not-so-good news: it’s technically not possible yet, because there’s no way to survive the pressure and extreme heat that are waiting down there.

October 26, 2017 New Jersey/Delaware Bay Fishing Report with Jim Hutchinson, Jr
Our “busting water all over the place” report from last week was spot on, even if only for an instant, as boats trolling and livelining last week hit the first wave of stripers cruising past the Central Jersey coast. Tackle shops in the Barnegat Inlet area had bass to 45-1/2-pounds brought to the scale, while word of one 50-pounder caught and released off Lavallette came in to The Fisherman this week.
A big cold front moves through early week finally ushering in the fall weather and hopefully pushing bait along the coast, and a couple of weekend tournaments should have the fleet on the grounds in search of wave two of the 2017 season. Black sea bass is back in the mix and keeping the rail gang in great spirits, while the appearance of monster blues over 20 pounds as Dream Boat hunters looking to check off another tournament box this week.
In the political mix this Saturday, New Jersey’s Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno will join both hunters and anglers on Saturday, October 28 at a gubernatorial rally in Point Pleasant Beach; the event starts at 2 p.m. and who sportsmen’s groups in the state hope will be New Jersey’s next governor will arrive at 3 p.m. That’s at Captain Bill’s Landing at 49 Inlet Drive; park in the inlet parking lot where you can also try your hand at dunking a blackfish bait while they’re still there!

Cruise Ship in Bermuda Triangle Storm
This video was shot on the last day of our Caribbean cruise aboard the Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas cruise ship in which it encountered very rough seas when the ship passed through the Bermuda Triangle. The Bermuda Triangle storm didn't make anyone on board nervous because the Allure of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the world and can easily handle these common Caribbean storms.
On the topic of the Bermuda Triangle… Some scientists now believe that the mystery of the Bermuda Triangle may be solved. Hexagonal clouds creating intense 170 mph “air bomb” winds are perhaps be to blame for an alarming number of disappearing ships and planes. What do you think?

9 Most Unbelievable Things Found Underwater
From mysterious anomalies that haven't been explained, to pieces of history that took a long time to be found. Join me as I show you some of the most unbelievable discoveries made underwater.
9. The Baltic Sea Anomaly
In the Baltic Sea there is a formation on the depths of its floor that when looked at from above, does resemble the legendary ship driven by Han Solo in Star Wars. Yes, it looks like the Millennium Falcon. No joke.
This interesting formation was found in 2012 by treasure hunters. A sonar device they had picked up the formation, and when they went to explore it themselves, they found a formation unlike anything they've seen or heard about before.
What made it strange wasn't just its shape, but also that it was 300 feet below the depths of the sea, as well as the fact that this formation is 210 feet long.
Ever since its discovery, people have been working out, or trying to work out, exactly what this thing is, who made it, and why. Some even feel it was an alien craft that someone crashed into the sea. Divers were able to get samples of the formation though, and based on scientific research, it was later determined that the formation was just that, a rock formation made by glacier movement.
But...not everyone is buying that theory. Especially since something about the anomaly causes electrical devices to stop working as it gets near it. What kind of natural formation does that? Not one that many has heard of.
So what exactly is the Baltic Sea Anomaly? And how did it get to that specific of a formation? The mystery continues.
8. A Massive Gap Between The Tectonic Plates
The Earth may seem like a very basic place at times, but there are many things working together to ensure that it doesn't go awry. Such as the tectonic plates, which not only hold our planet together, but allow us to live above water. That's because these plates are what the continents of our world are on, and thus, there are 7 massive plates underneath the surface within the Lithosphere, and the study of them have been a major focus point for scientists over the years, especially when they realized that they were moving away from one another. For the record, that's a bad thing.
Specifically, the North American and Eurasian plates are moving farther and farther apart from each other every year. No need to panic just yet, it's only moving apart about an inch a year, but still, they're moving. And if you go underwater, you can actually see the gap between the plates.
Should you want to do this, you'll need to go to Iceland, where the gap can be found, and you'll be amazed by what you see. The water is apparently crystal clear, and the sight of the walls of the plates and their verticality can be quite mind-blowing.
This has become a somewhat frequent spot for divers to see the beauty of the ocean, and it's something that definitely shocked people when it was found. And can you blame them for their shock?
7. Apollo 11 Engine
The Space Race was one of the most important times for the people of many nations, especially the United States and the then USSR. In 1969, the Apollo 11 shuttle took three men from the United States to the moon, and it was a resounding success, they landed on it, and the world was never the same. As was standard procedure, after the shuttle took off from Florida, it ascended to the sky via a course over the ocean. When it did, it detached many parts from the shuttle, including its rocket engine boosters. A search for those engines went on for many decades to find those engines. But with little luck.
That is, until 2012 when a man named Jeff Bezos went out on a secret mission to try and find the engines. If you feel like you know that name, it's because that's the name of the CEO of Amazon.
I'm thrilled to share some exciting news, Amazon.com founder and CEO Jeff Bezos said after the discovery. 44 years ago tomorrow [July 20] Neil Armstrong stepped onto the moon, and now we have recovered a critical technological marvel that made it all possible.
The two engines that Bezos and his team found were found in the Atlantic Ocean, but at first, they couldn't confirm that they were from the Apollo 11. This was due to how long it had been in the water, added with stress done in by erosion, the fires from the detaching, and more.
There was one secret that the ocean didn't give up easily: mission identification, Bezos wrote The components' fiery end and heavy corrosion from 43 years underwater removed or covered up most of the original serial numbers.
The Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center in Hutchinson, Kansas were the ones who confirmed the discovery was indeed from Apollo 11. After a long process, they found serial numbers and unit numbers on the engine that noted which ship it came from. Making it proof positive that these were indeed the engines from that legendary mission.
