MISSOURI BOTANICAL GARDENS-ST LOUIS,MO-BETTER THAN GARDEN OF VERSAILLES?-EP25
While in St Louis, MO, we spent a day at the Missouri Botanical Gardens. I dragged Mark along. This is probably the best botanical garden in the US that we've seen so far. It was better for us than the Gardens of Versailles. It was impeccably maintained. Since it's only 80 acres, every single square foot is beautiful!! Versailles is 1950 acres, and just wears you down. By the time we left, Mark admitted he liked how we spent the day. I hope it wasn't just because of the cookie at lunch,.....

A Quick Visit to Cliff Cave Park St. Louis MO USA September 2016
This is a short compilation of photos and video I took during a quick visit I made to Cliff Cave Park in September 2016. Cliff Cave Park is a St. Louis County park in St. Louis Missouri, USA.
This park is very close to our house and one of my favorite parks. This park is a favorite because its so diverse it has a cave, and a spring that comes out of the cave which you will see a little of that in this video.
It has 3 trails and many great views of the Mississippi river. I parked down by the River View Shelter and walked over to the bluff and cave. I went to the beginning of the Spring Valley Trail and the entrance of the cave. You will get to see a little bit of the Spring Valley Trail which is a 3 mile dirt trail with and inner and outer loop which takes you by the cave and above the cave entrance. It has a very hilly and rocky start but once you're on top of the hill its fairly flat and easy to navigate. I have rode these with a mountain bike as well as hiked. Also there are some photos of the Mississippi River Trail is a 5 mile paved flat trail with two loops. I've rode my road bike on this trail many times. I did not get to go on the Bluff trail so that will be in a future video.

Pensmore Story On Today Show 2011
Sustainability: Pensmore Story On Today Show 2011
A variety of exciting new technologies allow Pensmore to dramatically cut energy costs without sacrificing practicality.
Pensmore’s heating system utilizes a cutting-edge technique for harvesting solar heat energy that exploits the vast energy storage potential of its steel reinforced TransForm concrete shell. Many builders already make use of traditional solar heat collectors, which are highly efficient at moderate temperatures. But until now, it has been expensive and impractical to bank the excess solar heat generated on sunnier days. Pensmore's newly-developed technologies enable it to store millions of BTUs of thermal energy while the sun shines, slowly releasing this green heat back into the interior at night and during cloudy days.
Secondary sources of heat include combustion of wood products grown on the estate (net carbon neutral) and conventional geothermal systems.
Similarly, Pensmore’s cooling system will make use of a unique technology that is both innovative and practical. We will be releasing more detailed information on the heating, cooling, and air conditioning systems in the future, so check back for updates as the chateau approaches completion.
Sustainability means more than just energy efficiency. It also means minimizing total life-cycle costs through low and zero-maintenance materials, and reduced use of non-renewable products during construction. Perhaps one of the biggest environmental advantages of Pensmore is its inherent durability. Designed to endure for centuries, the chateau will leave a minimum impact on the environment while other structures are built, demolished and built again and again.
Pensmore relies on the following systems and technologies:
•TransForm: super-insulated energy-storing concrete forming system
•Solar thermal heat collectors
•Geo-thermal
•Radiant heating and cooling
•Advanced climate control software
•Rainwater collection
•Helix steel fibers

City Of Pine Lawn Corruption
I will be exposing the City Of Pine Lawn & B&W Sensors, LLC in my NEXT VIDEO about Pine Lawn/B&W back-door deals,B&W hiding product defects,kick-backs, city court staff salary advances, city missing money, improper transfer of money and our request of Missouri bar discipline of Donnell Smith for his total disrespect for state & federal laws.
City Of Pine Lawn money grab hurting daily commute to work and low income people in Pine Lawn are upset about the way they were treated by their city. At least a thousand people were scheduled Thursday for court dates. Many were lined up outside Pine Lawn City Hall for hours just to pay traffic tickets.
Thursday was the deadline for ticket holders to pay the fines before warrants would be issued for their arrest. Hundreds of people at a time were crammed into Pine Lawn's small court building. Frank Arrington called the conditions deplorable. Everybody has a degree of disgust. Everybody is angry. You can talk to anybody and they'll show their frustration, said Arrington.

UNITED STATES STEEL BUILDING OF THE ST. LOUIS ARCH MONUMENT TO A DREAM 47484
Monument To The Dream is a 1967 short documentary film on the Jefferson National Expansion Memorial Arch over the Mississippi River in St. Louis, Missouri. Produced by Guggenheim Productions for United States Steel, the film begins with men making carbon steel plates (00:12) into 15-ton, 2-ply sheets in Pennsylvania. In St. Louis (00:45), a triangular foundation of tons of concrete is formed and set, ready to bear the steel plates. Those plates are loaded onto railcars (01:13) and sent to St. Louis, where they are removed from the train (02:00) and placed so that the welders can weld the sheets together. On 12 February 1963, the first welded steel piece is ready and is placed on the concrete foundation. The 50-ton steel triangles are built and then stacked, creating the foundation of the arch’s legs (04:03). Each section is lined up then the gaps are tack-welded (05:20). By summer, six sections are up, and a platform derrick must be used to complete construction. By the fall of 1963, the scale of the structure is apparent. In 1964, the arch’s legs are nearly 300 feet high. Engineers continue to place steel bars and pour concrete inside the structure (07:26); over 25,000 tons of concrete is used. Come summer, the structure is taller than ever, measuring in at 400 feet. Steel eye-beam tracks are put in position (09:07) and an 80-ton creeper moves up the tracks (10:12). A shot of the partially constructed arch (10:42) shows just how imposing the finished structure will be. Geometry control readings are taken at night (11:00) then compared to computer readings. On 17 June 1965, a 60-ton bridging strut is raised to join the two legs of the arch (11:58). Views from atop the structure, roughly 500 feet above the river and St. Louis, are stunning. Men secure the bridging strut and begin closing the distance between the two legs. Sept In 1965, more than two-and-a-half years since construction began, men ride an elevator 12 minutes, passing capital building (14:11), to reach the top. The creeper and cranes hoist more sections. A triangular piece is hoisted up (15:58). Section-by-section, the gap is closed, and an aerial shot shows the progress made (17:00). On 8 October 1965, the final piece is ready to be lifted up and attached (17:35). Men fight the sun’s heat on the structure by spraying water on it. The legs are jacked apart 4 feet (18:15) to get the space to put in the final piece. A shot from on top of the structure shows the football stadium in the background (18:54). The final piece is lifted (19:00) as people gather at the bottom to celebrate the completion of the arch. The final piece passes the capital building (20:00) and reaches the top (21:23). Men move it into place and secure it, completing the arch (22:29). The film concludes with scenes of arch as the sun sets in the background.

SUMMARY
=======
Missouri is a state in the Midwestern United States. With over six million residents, it is the 18th-most populous state of the Union. The largest urban areas are St. Louis, Kansas City, Springfield, and Columbia; the capital is Jefferson City, near the center of the state on the Missouri River. The state is the 21st-most extensive in area. In the South are the Ozarks, a forested highland, providing timber, minerals, and recreation. The Mississippi River forms the eastern border of the state.
Humans have inhabited the land now known as Missouri for at least 12,000 years. The Mississippian culture built cities and mounds, before declining in the 14th century. When European explorers arrived in the 17th century they encountered the Osage and Missouria nations. The French established Louisiana, a part of New France, and founded Ste. Genevieve in 1735 and St. Louis in 1764. After a brief period of Spanish rule, the United States acquired the Louisiana Purchase in 1803. Americans from the Upland South, including enslaved African Americans, rushed into the new Missouri Territory. Missouri was admitted as a slave state as part of the Missouri Compromise. Many from Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee settled in the Boonslick area of Mid-Missouri. Soon after, heavy German immigration formed the Missouri Rhineland.
Missouri played a central role in the westward expansion of the United States, as memorialized by the Gateway Arch. The Pony Express, Oregon Trail, Santa Fe Trail, and California Trail all began in Missouri. As a border state, Missouri's role in the American Civil War was complex and there were many conflicts within. After the war, both Greater St. Louis and the Kansas City metropolitan area became centers of industrialization and business. Today, the state is divided into 114 counties and the independent city of St. Louis.
Missouri's culture blends elements from the Midwestern and Southern United States. The musical styles of ragtime, Kansas City jazz, and St. Louis Blues developed in Missouri. The well-known Kansas City-style barbecue, and lesser-known St. Louis-style barbecue, can be found across the state and beyond. St. Louis is also a major center of beer brewing; Anheuser-Busch is the largest producer in the world. Missouri wine is produced in the nearby Missouri Rhineland and Ozarks. Missouri's alcohol laws are among the most permissive in the United States. Outside of the state's major cities, popular tourist destinations include the Lake of the Ozarks, Table Rock Lake, and Branson.
Well-known Missourians include U.S. President Harry S. Truman, Mark Twain, Walt Disney, Chuck Berry, and Nelly. Some of the largest companies based in the state include Cerner, Express Scripts, Monsanto, Emerson Electric, Edward Jones, H&R Block, Wells Fargo Advisors, and O'Reilly Auto Parts. Missouri has been called the Mother of the West and the Cave State; however, Missouri's most famous nickname is the Show Me State.

NOAA Ocean Today Video: 'When Lightning Strikes'
Not only can lightning strike twice, but it can also strike the ocean. If you hear thunder get out of the water. If you are in a boat, get back to land. If you can't, stay low in the boat or in the cabin.
TRANSCRIPT follows:
NARRATOR:
Lightning is a rapid discharge of electrical energy in the atmosphere.
Each spark can span over five miles in length, reach temperatures hotter than the surface of the sun and contain 100 million volts of electricity.
Lightning strikes are not only dangerous, they can be deadly.
The electrostatic discharge occurs within a cloud, between clouds, or between a cloud and the ground.
Lightning doesn't strike the ocean as much as land, but when it does, it spreads out over the water, which acts as a conductor. It can hit boats that are nearby, and electrocute fish that are near the surface.
If you're at the beach and hear thunder or see lightning, get out of the water. Get off the beach and take shelter in a building or in your car. If you're at sea, head back to a shelter on land. If you can't, either stay low in the boat or retreat to a cabin. Do not use electronic equipment during the storm.
Every year, millions of lightning flashes fill our skies. Each one has the potential to cause a devastating and shocking impact.
