Silver Terrace Cemeteries - All Hallows Eve Virginia City Nevada
Silver Terrace Cemeteries in Virginia City is composed of 11 or more burial grounds. Over the years its developed a reputation for being haunted especially up at boot hill where the lawless were hung. The cemetery is surrounded by mines and very few people ever get to investigate it for the paranormal at night. This is our second investigation on Halloween night as ill take our viewers to the top of boot hill where Captain Storey is buried and down to Mt. St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery. Eventually darkness sets in and you can see all of Virginia City lit up including the giant V on the side of Mount Davidson. After dark ill take you through other parts of the cemetery followed by a gallery featuring some of our adventure in Silver Terrace and our awesome Halloween with some spooky music. The gallery will include pumpkin carving, five week old black kittens, spooks, scares, good times, treats and Halloween festivities. Silver Terrace Cemeteries date back to the founding of Virginia City and the Comstock Lode. They are said to be some of the most historic cemeteries in Northern Nevada. I will also touch base a little bit about Julia Bulette a madam that was murdered and the man that was hung on boot hill for his crimes. We are far from working with this location just a state of things to come and a sweet little investigation on All Hallows Eve in 2015!

Virginia Cities Boot Hill In Silver Terrace Cemeteries
I took this footage almost at the top of Boot Hill a place where hangings were said to have taken place in Virginia City. This is so that they could bury the dead after the hanging. The Pacific Coast Pioneers section only plays a small part in the size of the Silver Terrace Cemeteries which are said to be haunted as well as named one of the largest historic landmarks in the state of NV. This video isnt the greatest but it gives everyone a perspective of the size and history that surrounds this hill.

Virginia City Cemetary
Virginia City, Nevada
1800's Virgina City Silver Terrace Pioneer Cemetery
Visit to the Silver Terrace Cemetery in Virginia City, Nevada. This is a very big pioneer graveyard that covers several acres. It is said to be haunted with reports of a tombstone that glows from a distance. A large section is for the Masonics, another for firemen, each area sectioned off. On this particular day, there was a funeral which is a rarity to see in a 1800's cemetery. I will visit again soon on a weekday when less tourists are up there and show the back section.
Virginia City is a must see tourist attraction when visiting Western Nevada and the Reno area. As a matter of fact, Virginia City is said to be one of America's most haunted towns. There are famed haunted locations you can stay at like the Silver Queen hotel which is proposed to be haunted. There are also modern hotels nearby including the Silverland Inn & Suites right in town. Want to see a haunted house? How about 50 of them? Many locals will tell you ghost stories about sightings in town. Some occur in the old saloons and the ghosts do not seem to be bothered by people. There are a lot of ghost stories about Virginia City online and there have been a few television specials by ghost hunters filmed up there also. Silver City, Gold Hill, Dayton, and Carson City are also nearby with more historic buildings and cemeteries.

Nevada Ghosts, Part 1: Silver Terrace Cemetery
In this story I wrote and voiced in October 2002 as a lead up to Halloween for radio station KKOH in Reno, Nevada I take you on a walk through Virginia City's Silver Terrace Cemeteries and meet ... Something ... that doesn't want us here..
All images, except Jim Fannin's and my pic following Jim's toss, were taken in Virginia City and in VC's Silver Terrace Cemeteries. Well... OK... Maybe the Growler's image isn't from VC... Or, is it?
As Honorary Mayor of Virginia City I want to advise you that a trip to Reno, Lake Tahoe or Carson City is not complete without a visit to Virginia City and the Comstock.

Wayward Wind_Eddy Arnold_Lyrics_Virginia City_Nevada
This is my favorite town to visit in the United States...Virginia City, Nevada because it turns back the time to mid 1800's...This town was built in the gold and silver rush days where gambling and prostitution is still legal today...I collect Carson City silver dollars from the mint there from the 1800's as I love real silver and gold coins...I wear a 1911 five dollar gold coin ring...I make vintage real silver coin necklaces and bolo's taken from these mines and make crystal jewelry necklaces and earrings for friends for my fun and give them away...I was taught by Apache Indians in Arizona as I was friends with the Chief back in 1970 and all the men Indians make fabulous jewelry...I'm also into turquoise and Branch red coral...
Oh, the wayward wind is a restless wind
A restless wind that yearns to wander
And I was born the next of kin
The next of kin to the wayward wind
In a lonely shack by a railroad track
I spent my younger days
And I guess the sound of the outward bound
Made me a slave to my wand'ring ways
And the wayward wind is a restless wind
A restless wind that yearns to wander
And I was born the next of kin
The next of kin to the wayward wind
Oh I met a girl in a border town
I vowed we'd never part
Though I tried my best to settle down
She's now alone with a broken heart
And the wayward wind is a restless wind
A restless wind that yearns to wander
And I was born the next of kin
The next of kin to the wayward wind
The next of kin to the wayward wind
Virginia City, Nevada
Recorded June 19, 1999.
Virginia City is one of the oldest established cities in Nevada. Like many cities and towns in the state, Virginia City was a mining boomtown; in fact it is one of the most famous boomtowns in the Old West as it virtually appeared overnight as a result of the Comstock Lode silver strike of 1859. During its peak, Virginia City had a population of nearly 30,000 residents. When the Comstock Lode ended in 1898, the city's population declined sharply.
The population of Virginia City is 1,000 people in the town. Virginia City was declared a National Historic Landmark in 1961. This in effect created a Virginia City Historic District. Today, Virginia City is but a shadow of its former glory, however, it still draws over 2 million visitors per year. It is one of the nation's larger National Historic Landmarks and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Keeping with tradition, Virginia City does not have any chain stores or fast food restaurants.
This video covers my short visit to the town in June 1999.

#spiritcommunication #ITCLegion This session was at Virginia City Silver Terraces Cemetery. We we're recording for about 2-3 hours but most of the footage was lost due to high winds ruining the audio. Over all what was salvaged was some really good spirit communication using It Legions Deadtime and Anomalies program.

Virginia City: Mark Twain, Haunted Hotels, and Suicide Tables!
History, Tourist Traps, Suicide Tables, Mining, Haunts!! All of it right here in Virginia City, Nevada. As a huge fan of Mark Twain and his book 'Roughing it' I've known a lot about Virginia City and the Comstock years, and always wanted to see the town for myself.
This was the place Samuel Clemens first worked as a professional writer under the name Mark Twain - and it was also the place where one of the richest mining booms in old west history took place. The comstock is legendary, and it left plenty of legendary attractions above it straddling the side of Mt Davidson in Virginia!
This video is the result of our first visit here together, but there should be many more, hopefully when I'm not completely sick! Thanks for watching!

Virginia City Nevada USA
Virginia City sprang up as a boomtown with the 1859 discovery of the Comstock Lode, the first major silver deposit discovery in the United States, and numerous mines were opened. At the city's peak of population in the mid-1870s, it had an estimated 25,000 residents. The mines' output declined after 1878, and the city declined. As of the 2010 Census the population of Virginia City was about 855,[3] with 4,000 living in Storey County.
