Places to see in ( Saint Louis - USA )
St. Louis is a major city in Missouri along the Mississippi River. Its iconic, 630-ft. Gateway Arch, built in the 1960s, honors the early 19th-century explorations of Lewis and Clark and America's westward expansion in general. Replica paddlewheelers ply the river, offering views of the arch. The Soulard district is home to barbecue restaurants and clubs playing blues music.
St. Louis, the largest metropolitan area in Missouri, is a major midwestern metropolis filled with culture. St. Louis planners have created an aesthetically beautiful city with green space at the street level. It is said that St. Louis is second only to Washington, D.C. in the number of free activities available in an American city. The Gateway Arch, the world's tallest man-made monument, forms a triumphant city skyline. An open mall surrounded by reflecting pools leads up to the historic court house, the site of the Dred Scott decision, facing the Gateway Arch.
The city is named after King Louis IX of France. St. Louis is known by the nickname of The Gateway to the West. The city was the last major stop before pioneers journeyed Westward to the Pacific coast. The city also played a large part during the steamboat era due to its position at the confluence of the Mississippi River and the Missouri River. St. Louis was acquired from France by the United States during President Thomas Jefferson's term in 1803 as part of the Louisiana Purchase. The transfer of power from Spain was made official in a ceremony called, Three Flags Day. On March 8, 1804, the Spanish flag was lowered and the French one raised. On March 10, the French flag was replaced by that of the USA. In 1904, St. Louis hosted that year's World's Fair and the Summer Olympic Games. Many of the parks, buildings, and finer homes in St. Louis were built around this time period. While there are few, if any, living residents who attended the Fair, it holds an important place in the modern development of the city.
Slide into St Louis and revel in the unique vibe of the largest city in the Great Plains. Beer, bowling and baseball are some of the top attractions, but history and culture, much of it linked to the Mississippi River, are a vital part of the fabric. And, of course, there's the iconic Gateway Arch that you have seen in a million pictures; it's even more impressive in reality. Many music legends, including Scott Joplin, Chuck Berry, Tina Turner and Miles Davis, got their start here and jammin' live-music venues keep the flame burning.

St Louis City Garden // Arch Grounds & Flood // Alton, Illinois // Tour
A quick walking tour through St Louis Citygarden, the grounds of the Arch and a look back at downtown Alton, Illinois during the ongoing flood.
Citygarden is an urban sculpture park located in downtown St. Louis. The park is an oasis of free interactive art, fountains and gardens spanning two blocks in downtown St Louis. Paved, winding paths lead visitors past 24 sculptures resting on wide lawns, six rain gardens, a children's spray plaza and 180-foot-long pool with six-foot waterfall.
Two walls stretch along the property; A granite topped meander wall serves as ample seating for visitors, while a taller, curved wall of Missouri limestone stretches across the property creating several more private spaces. The park is not enclosed from the street and can be entered from any direction. Ordinance year: 2009, 2.9 acres.
Didn't go into the Arch Museum this round, but will later this summer. The views were spectacular even on this very windy and rainy day and I'm sure it didn't help with the Mississippi trying to push along flood waters.
Sorry about the wet lens! Didn't know it was wet while filming - very windy and rainy day!! :)

ST LOUIS MO BIKE PATHS-RIVERFRONT TRAIL-MISSISSIPPI RIVER TRAIL-EP24
We are slowly learning that bike riding in unfamiliar towns is amazing, but has its problems! Every wrong turn you make can add a mile or two, which should be viewed as part of the adventure, instead of diminishing the trip length. If we had electric bikes, with the “reserve” of an additional 30 miles to play with,…..we wouldn’t always have that nagging thought after 17 miles traveled MAX, (depending on the terrain)………..if we should be turning around already to get back home.
Sue: Went on a GREAT 27 mile bike ride on August 30th along the Mississippi River in St Louis, MO. The terrain and sites to see were constantly changing from trees and flowing water, to bridges, tunnels, barges, junk yards, art work, levee walls, graffiti walls, power plants, sugar and grain unloading operations, suspension bridges, and yes porta-potties,....thank GOD!

Top 10 Most Dangerous Gangs in the World
Here, we list 10 most dangerous gangs in the the world who have gained worst reputation for their deadliest and horrifying criminal activities.
Featured in this video, the following most dangerous gangsters and gangs:
10. Hells Angels
The famous American biker gang has forged a feared reputation over the years. Known for their trademark leather jackets, shaven heads and Harley Davidson motorbikes, the Hells Angels belong to one of the 'Big Four' motorcycle gangs, along with the Pagans, Outlaws, and Bandidos. As an organisation, most of their money- if rumours are true- comes from a variety of illegal activities such as drug dealing, trafficking in stolen goods, and prostitution.
9. Yakuza
As Japan's most feared gang, members are expected to cut all ties with their family and pledge loyalty to their bosses. It's a mindset that makes many desensitised to the crimes they will likely commit. In fact, one of their brutal practices, known as Yubitsume, involves the cutting of one's finger as an act of apology if they go against the strict codes.
8. Jamaican Posse
The streets of Kingston, Jamaica have long been plagued with killings and a significant percentage of those can be attributed to the Island's notoriously violent 'Jamaican Posse' gang. Well connected to the country's government, their ritualized killings, which usually involve laundry irons, butchers knives, and, somewhat bizarrely, vacuum cleaners, leads many Kingston citizens quaking in their boots.
7. The Crips
Famed for their affiliations to a plethora of rap and hip-hop artists, the Crips, whose members reside in Los Angeles, are usually identified by their blue clothing, and have a fierce rivalry with the 'Bloods.' Illegal activity within the gang is believed to involve low-level drug dealing and graffiti, while any graffiti spotted with the letter 'B' is quickly defaced due to 'B' being the beginning letter of their bitter rivals.
6. Aryan Brotherhood
Around 1/4 of prison murders in the United States were attributed to this gang, mainly because membership requires you kill or assault a fellow prisoner. “blood in, blood out”,
5. Cosa Nostra (Italian and American Mafias)
While the term 'Mafia' has long been used to describe criminal organizations, the two most famous- New York's American Mafia, (formed largely by Italian immigrants) and Italy's Sicilian Mafia- simply go by the name cost nostra, which translates roughly to our thing. Know for their decadent lifestyles funded from a life of organized crime and violence; their lives have often been a source of fascination, thanks largely to the Hollywood movies spawned from their crimes and paradoxically warm-heated family values.
4. Area Boys (Agberos)
While their crimes usually fail to go beyond intimidation and violence, locals living in Nigeria's chaotic capital, Lagos, remain fearful of one of the city's foremost gangs. Known as 'Area Boys,' the gang consists of abandoned youths, who roam the streets looking for innocent bystanders to mug.
3. The Bloods
While their rivalry with fellow Los Angeles natives the 'Crips' is one of the world's most famed gang rivalries, the red-clothed Bloods are actually descendants of breakaway Crips members.
2. Triads
The famed Chinese mob has proliferated into a conglomerate of gangs, with an estimated 2.5 million people around the world identifying themselves 'Triads.'
1. The Mungiki
Predominantly comprised of Kenya's largest ethnic group (the Kikuyu), the Mungiki gang's primary motive is to gain political control in Kenya. Rumoured to be 100,000 strong, their practices, while political, are nonetheless nightmarish. Examples include gang members soaking in the blood of the enemy and severing the victim's head before parading it on a stick. It's practices like these which have made the Mungiki gang one of the most feared in not only Kenya but the whole of Africa.
